Inko Midoriya paced on the living room floor at 8:30 PM, biting her fingernails and listening to another person say what she had heard 10 times before.
"Sorry, Mrs. Midoriya, but we haven't seen Izuku since he left school." Mr. Aizawa informed over the line. "Didn't he go home at all?"
Inko shook her head. "N-no! I haven't seen him since this morning." She stopped by the coffee table at the open notebook filled with numbers from the school, including some of Izuku's friends. "I tried to call him back a few times, but he hasn't answered. He said his battery was low or something."
A heavy sigh was heard on the other side, "We'll see what we can do. If someone does see him, I'll make sure to let you know."
Inko sniffled and took a deep breath. "Thank you." She hung up and set the phone down. She looked back at the door, hoping her song would just come back already.
It wasn't like Izuku to stay out this late. He hardly ever stayed out late, for that matter. Ever since he just randomly ended the call, she could sense something was wrong. However, she didn't know what.
"Please, Izuku," she whispered. "Please be okay. Please just come home already."
...
Blood sprayed onto the wall of the dark and damp room Izuku was trapped in.
Another yelp of pain escaped his mouth as he fell back onto the concrete ground. His face was smeared with his own blood, his hands tied up by cold chains, shackled to the wall.
Shigaraki smirked as the blade he held was stained with red. "Get up." He demanded.
Izuku whimpered as his body ached. He didn't want to get back up. He knew what awaited him; another hit or stab from Shigaraki. What was the difference though? He was getting beaten either way.
He somehow managed to stand up again. That only lasted for a few seconds as Shigaraki kicked his stomach, sending him back into the wall.
Izuku grunted and fell to his knees. The sickening feeling came back to him and he turned the other way, vomiting whatever he could. He was surprised there was anything left after the first 2 times he was forced to throw up.
He wiped it off his mouth and looked back at Shigaraki.
Shigaraki sighed. "How many more hits can you take?" He walked closer to the boy and grabbed his torn up uniform, forcing him up. "You're pathetic, you know that."
Izuku simply panted in response, tearing up. "W-why are you doing this to me?" He grit his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut when Shigaraki dug the knife into his arm again.
"You're not strong enough to become a hero." He growled at Izuku. "You'll never be."
"N-no... You're lying." The younger male coughed as a new cut was made on his arm. He knew what Shigaraki was trying to do, but he wasn't that broken to believe that lie...yet.
Shigaraki grabbed his arm tightly with his gloved hands. "I heard your quirk is pretty complicated."
Izuku inhaled sharply, feeling the pressure on his wounds and cuts. "You have a lot of power, but that's thanks to the help of someone else, right?"
"The only problem is, once you use that power, you become broken." Shigaraki finished as he slammed Izuku into the ground and turned his arm the opposite way.
A loud snap was heard, followed by a scream. Tears spilled out of Izuku's eyes as he writhed on the floor in pain. He was already cut up, bruised, and scraped up. Adding a broken arm to the mix just made everything so much more worse.
Shigaraki stood up. "You need someone to show you the truth about your so-called glorified heroes." He dropped the knife and took off the gloves.
"Until then," he stepped away, "You're going to be in for a world of pain."
The door opened then closed, Izuku left alone with nothing but his thoughts and his pain.
Why is this happening? What do they want with me? Why does it hurt so much??
Izuku whimpered through his heavy breathing. His wrapped his unbroken arm around himself and tilted his head down. I want to go back. Someone, please save me from this. I can't survive this...
"Someone...please...help me."
...
Tomura Shigaraki took a deep breath. He walked out into the main room of the abandoned bar. This place was better known as his hideout for the League of Villains.
Kurogiri looked at the tv then noticed Shigaraki's presence. "How is it going?"
"As it should be." He answered. The smoke villain noticed the blood stains on Shigaraki's clothes and face. "You didn't kill him, did you?"
"Hardly," Shigaraki chortled. "You see, Kurogiri, it's a process to break someone like this boy. I can tell he's been through a lot more pain than we think."
"What exactly are you trying to achieve then?" Kurogiri asked. "Before you know it, the police are going to search for him. It's only a matter of time until the news starts talking about it."
Shigaraki scratched his neck, "Ah, yes. The thing is, by the time they do find him again, they won't be able to bring him back." He smirked.
"This is the fairly hardest part of this whole thing; breaking the hero's spirit. After that, convincing him will be no trouble."
Kurogiri seemed to raise an eyebrow. "You seriously believe that everything will go that smoothly."
"Oh, I know it will!" Shigaraki chuckled. "Tonight was only scratching the surface of what I'm going to do to him."
...
The next day at UA High School, class 1-A wondered where their classmate went.
Aizawa insisted on staying quiet and avoiding the subject. He didn't want to admit it, but it worried him a lot to know the Izuku disappeared.
Everyone had the same concerned look on their faces, except for Bakugou. He just looked confused as to why that nerd wasn't around.
As he taught the lesson, Mr. Aizawa noticed the students were looking down and looking at each other. He knew this wouldn't change and it would probably only get worse if he told them what he knew.
Once lunch came around, Aizawa went back to the teacher's lounge to have some peace and quiet.
Then, All Might appeared on the room. "I am here! For my lunch break!"
Aizawa sighed in annoyance and looked up. "Did you hear what happened?"
The tall and muscular hero closed the door behind him and frowned a little. "Young Midoriya hasn't shown up to school?" With that, he turned back into his thin and scrawny look.
Aizawa shook his head. "His mother called in, wondering if he stayed here for some reason. I asked some of the students, they don't know where he is. It seems he's gone missing."
"Then what are we waiting for? We should go find him now-"
"Not quite." The teacher cut him off. "The students are already wondering why I haven't said anything about the whole subject. If we start a whole search party to find him, they'll know that we don't know where he is and it'll only get worse from there." He sighed.
All Might did not seem to like this answer. "What if he is in danger?"
Aizawa didn't reply and instead looked down. "We just have to go on with the day as usual. After classes end, we'll bring this up for the police to investigate."
Now he knew this was serious. His apprentice was missing and no one had any idea where he could've gone. More importantly, he didn't know if he was taken or confronted by someone who knows the secret of the power he gave to Izuku.
Young Midoriya, wherever you are, don't panic. I trust that you'll be fine by the time we find you.
