10. Ghosts from the Past

So I've been working on a few of my other works and studying for school so that's why I haven't gotten to work on this for a few days since the last update. I hope I'm not too late (even though it is almost midnight as I publish this lol) and I really hope you enjoy this. Please comment and vote on this chapter to tell me what you think and once again, thank you for reading! ^^

Darkness consumed his surroundings, and the whispers filled the silence. Why was it all coming back now? That was so long ago.

"Hey, Kacchan, wait for me!" A small voice shouted.

He groaned, putting his hands over his ears.

"Stay away from me, I said!" Another voice growled as a yelp followed.

"Forget it! A quirkless nerd like you will never be a hero!!"

The whispers and yells just kept coming no matter how hard he tried not to hear them.

Suddenly, he was restrained by an unknown force. The voices stopped, but he could hear footsteps approach.

An ominous chuckle came from the person as they stopped. Now, only their shadow was seen.

He gulped and frowned, waiting for the shadow to do whatever it was going to do.

Then, the familiar pair of green eyes appeared to glow from the darkness. "So...did you miss me, Kacchan??"

Out from the shadows came Izuku Midoriya, hands which were covered in blood folded together as he smiled and laughed at him.

What the hell?

...

Katsuki Bakugou gasped for air, gripping his bed sheets and snapping his eyes open.

He sat up and turned his head side to side, making sure he was alone. He was the only one in the room.

Katsuki rubbed his eyes and frowned. "Ugh, what in the-" he groaned.

This was a strange occurrence. He never dreamed about anything like that.

Whether he'd like to admit it or not, he wasn't the same without Izuku. He'd always have someone to pick on; that was Deku. Now, he lashed out on other people, his temper was even worse, and people were concerned about him.

Katsuki ran a hand through his hair and wiped the sweat off his forehead. He had a bad feeling, but he didn't know what about. Maybe it was the dream.

Deku can't be alive, can he? Everyone says he's gone forever. That stupid nerd...

Then he just rolled his eyes and laid back in bed. He decided just not to think about it and go back to sleep.

He couldn't even be.... No, of course not.

...

"Midoriya?"

The green haired boy turned at the mention of his name.

Tomura Shigaraki stood at Izuku's room out the doorway. He narrowed his eyes. "Where were you?" He tapped a finger impatiently.

Izuku immediately smiled. "Oh, no where special. Toga and I were just out, talking. You know, you should agree to put her and Dabi in the League. Their quirks are so fascinating." He lied so that he didn't have to tell him about where he really was.

If anything, Izuku was still caring toward those who were important to him. He was not willing to put his mother's life in danger because he mentioned going to see her.

"I know that, Midoriya. But why were you out? You know I say when you can leave the hideout, correct?" The villain growled.

"Yes, but I didn't do anything bad. I know better than that." Izuku replied as he unzipped his hoodie. "I'm not a little kid."

"You have to follow my orders. Otherwise, you know what your punishment is..." Shigaraki grabbed the boy's hoodie and leaned in. He glared coldly at him, making sure he intimidated him, and he was still loyal to him only. "What about I take you there right now? Remind you of exactly why you need to listen to me."

Izuku's eyes widened and he shook his head. "No. I'm alright. It won't happen again, I promise."

"Then do not leave the hideout again. Understood?" Shigaraki narrowed his eyes.

"Understood..." Izuku accepted and he was let go of.

Shigaraki shoved him aside. "Now don't bother me. I have things to do."

Izuku stared down. "Wait, Shigaraki. If they join us, will I be able to do more things in the League?"

Shigaraki turned his head toward him. "I thought I explained this to you before. Your time is coming soon. Sooner than you think. You are the secret weapon. When we do get the chance to invade and destroy UA and all the heroes in it, you'll be there. Who knows, you might just even get a chance to payback those who hurt you."

Izuku seemed to like the sound of this.  "Really?"

Shigaraki nodded. "Yes. Just be patient. And don't test me again." And with that, he stalked away.

Izuku bit his lip in excitement. He knew that day for him was coming soon. Revenge wasn't in his thoughts before, but now that Shigaraki mentioned it, it didn't sound bad at all.

Revenge on everyone? Every single person who hurt me. Including Kacchan. Yeah...Kacchan.

It's been a while since I've seen him after all.

I wonder what he's doing now.

Only Shigaraki knew in a small matter of time, Izuku would be ready to help him fulfill his big plan, starting with the students at UA.

~~~~~
"Bakugou?"
"Hey, Bakugou~"
"Dude, what's up with him?"
Suddenly, a pencil was thrown at the blond's for head, making him flinch and snap out of his thoughts.
"Hey, which of you two morons threw it!!"
Ejirou Kirishima and Denki Kaminari stared at him in confusion more than fear. Kirishima twisted his mouth, "We were talking to you."
Bakugou glared, "What?! Do you two think I'm deaf or something?! I heard you perfectly fine!!!"
Kaminari sighed, "Then what did we say?" His only response was getting yanked up by his uniform's tie.
Bakugou fumed, "Are you testing me, you dunce?"
Kirishima got in between the two and separated them. "Guys, guys, cut it out!"
Kaminari hid behind one of the pillows on Bakugou's bed, only uncovering his eyes. "He's not paying attention."
Bakugou raised an eyebrow. "Huh? What do you mean?"
Kirishima held up his notebook. "We were doing homework? We asked you which answer you picked for number seven." He glanced over at the other notebooks and his eyes widened. "You haven't been following along, have you?"
Kaminari scoffed. "It was totally obvious."
Bakugou gave him a warning glare and looked down at his notebook, realizing he hadn't been doing much work. However, he was doing a lot of thinking.
"Seriously, what's up with you today?" Kirishima asked with a concerned tone. "I haven't seen you this out of tune in months."
Bakugou shook his head. "Nothing, just keep going. I'll pay attention more."
Kaminari hugged the pillow and frowned. "Something's bugging you, right? Just tell us about it."
Bakugou gritted his teeth, "Nothing's bothering me. I don't need to talk about anything." He turned his head away and crossed his arms.
Kirishima shook his head. "Bakugou, we know something's on your mind. I also know you don't like to talk about things."
Kaminari blurted, "Is it about Midoriya again?"
The red haired male thumped Kaminari with his red pencil. It had bite marks from where he chewed on it in class. "I was easing into that, dude!"
Bakugou narrowed his eyes. "What? Why would you even think it's Deku?"
"Because you acted like this all the time especially when he first disappeared." Kirishima pointed out. "Is it bothering you again?"
"No, it's not. I was just spacing out, okay?"
Kaminari frowned. "Hey, hey, Bakugou. We know it takes a while to get through something like that. Everyone in class is still trying to get passed it. You and Midoriya went to school together, right? It's normal to feel that way. After all, when you know nothing about where he went or what he's doing now, it can be scar-Ow!"
Bakugou raised his hand to hit the blond again. "It's not about that, you idiot!"
Kirishima sighed, "Alright, fine. If It's really not about that, then we'll just drop it."
Bakugou huffed, "Good." He snatched up his notebook. He stopped for a moment, narrowing his eyes. "It's just that....what if he...." What if he's still alive?
The two others raised their heads as if expecting him to finish his question.
He shook his head. "Nevermind, forget I said anything." He went back to writing in his notebook.
Kaminari and Kirishima both looked unconvinced. They knew they shouldn't have kept pressing on, so they just grabbed their books and continued their homework.
After studying some more and finishing their homework, Ejiro and Denki left the Bakugou household and made their way to their own houses.
"Man, did you see how distracted Bakugou was?"
"That again?" Kirishima raised an eyebrow. "I noticed it. But you know he won't tell us directly how he feels. He can't even do that with himself."
The electric quirk male sighed, "I do feel bad for what happened to Midoriya, though. He would've liked being in the Sports Festival."
Kirishima looked down and frowned, "What do you think actually happened?" He tilted his head. "People never found out what exactly happened. You think he's still alive?"
"If he was alive, what would he be doing? Wouldn't he want to come back to UA? He wasn't that bad, actually." Kaminari shrugged.
Kirishima put his hand on his chin. "That's the thing. What if Midoriya disappeared not by his own will? What if he was taken by someone?"
Kaminari's eyes widened at the thought. "What would they do to him? Do you think it was a villain?"
"He did go missing after that crazy attack on USJ, so maybe?" The red haired male said. He walked on, noticing it was getting dark.
There had been a bunch of theories about what had happened, but no one could be sure of what actually happened to Izuku Midoriya.
"What if he just left because he wanted to?" A voice interjected in the conversation.
This made the two stop in their tracks and turn their heads around. They were pretty much alone, standing on the sidewalk below a lamppost.
"W-wait, did you say that?" Kirishima looked back at his friend, only to receive a vigorous shake of the head.
"No. Did you?"
Kirishima looked around. "Who's there?" He backed up, closer to Kaminari with a bead of sweat running down his forehead.
"Aw, I was just adding in my own opinion about what happened to your dear old classmate~"
Kirishima's breathed hitched, "Show yourself! Whoever you are. We're not gonna fight."
A shadow behind Kaminari seemed to creep closer and closer. "You two do remember me, right? I'm not just some stranger trying to eavesdrop on your conversation. How has everything been? We really have to catch up, you know."
Kaminari stiffened as he felt someone's breath hit his ear. The voice murmured, "I hope you missed me, guys." A low chuckle was heard.
And just like that, a quick unsheathing sound was heard before blood spewed onto the floor.
"Kaminari!!" Kirishima turned quickly, his face paling at the sight of blood coming from his friend.
A hum of satisfaction was heard from the shadow as he stepped closer to them. He wore a black mask over his mouth, covering the sadistic smile on his lips. Most of his features were not distinct, but Kirishima recognized him somewhere.
Kaminari stumbled back, holding his bleeding arm and glancing up. "M-M...."
The shadow creeped closer, making Kirishima step back. "No way..." His red eyes widened in fear.
