.
He stared at the scene before him, watching his childhood friend be taken over by the huge sludge monster.
He didn't notice the smile slowly take over his expression, however another did. Someone who really didn't want to see that.
Suddenly a different voice rang out. He looked back, seeing someone he didn't want to see.
He backed up, getting closer to the scene before him. He didn't bother to look at it. Instead he kept his gaze on the woman approaching him.
He turned around, staring at the monster that was now eye level with him. He grinned, waving.
"Hello monster!"
His voice sounded so childish, the words laced with giggles. What was he doing? No one could tell, but the poor victim could. He knew the boy well enough. He reached out.
"Deku get back!" He called.
Now unable to breathe without giggling the boy looked up at his 'friend'. He seemed excited. He reached out his hand. Grabbing onto the others. He pulled it close to his face, gently rubbing his cheek against it.
The blonde haired boy stared in utter fright. He had never saw him do that before.
Even the monster was confused.
So confused its power faltered, releasing the boy from its grasp.
The two teens were left standing there, one still with his face pressed up against the others hand.
The blonde suddenly yanked his hand away.
"Deku what the hell is wrong with you?!" He stepped back, somewhat scared of the boy.
The boys smile fell, and his eyes just seemed wider, but dull. He looked up at him, his expression empty, but absolutely terrifying.
"What do you mean? Nothings wrong with me."
The blonde suddenly jumped forwards, pushing the boy down and restraining him.
"Don't joke like this!"
The woman was coming closer.
He panicked. Grabbing the blondes body and pulling it closer, he wanted the cover. The blonde looked up at the woman.
"Deku.. why are you hiding from your mom?"
He froze. Staring only at the blonde. His face frozen with an expression only saw on those dying a painful death.
The blonde was confused.
The woman was standing Infront of them.
"Oh Izuku! Is this the one you ask for?" Her voice sounded as uneven as his.
The boy suddenly glared at her.
"Not now mom. I'm busy."
The blonde was confused, just a moment ago this boy was scared, now he seemed frustrated.
The woman grabbed the boys arm, allowing the blonde to retreat.
The boy stared at the blonde as he was led back to where his mother wanted him to go.
For some reason it felt wrong.
*Round about a year in the future*
"Mom! Let go! I need that!" Izuku cried out as the woman lowered the blade on his left leg, just below his knee.
What was she doing? She was checking for a quirk. Why? She was power hungry.
Of course she wasn't his real mom.
Oh no she disposed of that woman a long time ago. The poor kid didn't know.
He thought his mom hated him.
His home was a prison.
She was the guards.
He'd just managed to sneak out of his window that day.
She'd still found him.
He doubted she'd let him go to school tomorrow.
"Oh Izuku, don't look at me like that.. I'm just doing this because I love you." She said, the lies showing through every word.
The blonde boy stopped in his path, he was walking to school and found himself infront of the poor boys home.
"Deku.." he said quietly. He had to see him, why? He didn't know.
He walked up to the door, hesitating before knocking on the wooden barricade. The response was quick, the woman he believed to be the boy's mother answered. She smiled, innocently.
"Is Izuku coming to school today?" He asked, trying his best to sound innocent aswell.
She shook her head.
"No he got hurt yesterday, so he's taking a quick break."
The blonde nodded, somewhat disappointed, he suddenly looked back up. "Hey is it okay if I come see him this afternoon? We're all missing him, I want to let them know he's okay."
The woman nodded, smiling wider than before. "of course dear! When should I expect you?"
The blonde pretended to think before answering. "Would straight after school be okay?"
She nodded and he waved goodbye, for some reason she didn't seem as nice as he thought she was.
The woman barged into Izuku's room. She frowned at him. "One of your little friends is coming over after school, tidy this place up before then, don't tell him anything, or it won't just be your leg. Okay?"
The boy nodded immediately. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, pulling himself over to the edge so he could get up.
The hours flew by and soon it was time for the blonde to come over.
Izuku waited in his room, nervous and trying not to think about what his mom would do if he did something wrong.
There was a brief knock at the door, same as this morning. And his mom answered again, sounding chipper. She led the blonde to Izuku's room, keeping him away from all of the side rooms, that held the pairs secrets.
She opened the door, Izuku looked up, somewhat surprised at who was standing with her, so much surprised he couldn't hide the smile forming on his face. His mom let him in before closing the door.
The blonde walked over to the boys bed and sat down next to him.
"Deku, what's her deal?" He said.
Izuku immediately froze, he wasn't allowed to say. Somehow the blonde understood that.
"I'm sorry- I can't say anything. She likes being private-" Izuku stuttered on every word.
"Anyway, ka- katsuki- why are you here-"
The blonde was confused, Izuku always referred to him by a nickname, why now did he call him that?
"I wanted to check on you, everyone's sorta worried, you haven't been in for a while. Aizawa keeps on saying he's gonna have to come over and ask why."
Izuku looked slightly shocked. "I- I can come in tomorrow. Promise."
Katsuki looked down at the boy, he hated himself for this, but he opened his arms, allowing the boy to hug him if he wanted. Izuku flopped onto the blondes chest, quicker than either of them expected. Katsuki hesitated before embracing the boy, he didn't know why, but in his head he was making a plan. Suddenly he tightened his grip, forcing Izuku's head to be beside his.
"I have a plan," he whispered, "you clearly aren't happy here."
Izuku seemed a little confused, where was he going with this.
"Stay with me for a while, just until you feel better." Katsuki said. Gently rubbing one of his hands up and down Izuku's back.
Izuku nodded, "what do I need to do."
Katsuki felt a small smile on his face. "Pack all the stuff you'd need, you can give me half to take over now. Be ready by 11 tonight. I'll come get you."
Izuku nodded, he was normally confined in his room after 9. "Can.. can you not tell anyone else? Don't want them worried.."
Katsuki nodded at his request. He didn't believe it was right, but knew he needed the boy to trust him.
"Promise." He muttered.
The door opened. His 'mom' stood there and smiled.
"Do you boys want something to eat?" She asked cheerfully.
Izuku nodded, katsuki did too. Why? Izuku had tightened his grip on him, he knew he had to agree.
Shortly after the woman had left, Izuku pulled back and looked him dead in the eyes.
"Don't eat it. She's either gonna try and make you stay, or drug you for other things."
Katsuki looked confused.
"She's a monster, don't trust what she does, okay?" Izuku said, seriously.
Katsuki nodded. He knew he needed to get this boy safe. This poor quirkless boy wasn't in a good state, and he wasn't living in a good place.
About an hour later it was time for Katsuki to leave. And he did so reluctantly. Izuku knew all he had to do now was wait, he had all of his stuff packing into one bag, he didn't own much, and the other stuff he did have was safely packed in Katsuki's bag. Including his favourite item.
Now all he had to do was make his mom do what she wanted quickly.
She called for him from a side room. He went over, he'd let her do what she wanted tonight.
Katsuki grabbed his coat from the pile of clothes at the bottom of his bed. He was about to head out to get Izuku. He'd been waiting for a few hours now, and knew he had to get there as soon as he could.
He walked out of the front door, his parents both asleep.
He walked down the street. Keeping a look out, knowing the number of villains was increasing daily.
He neared the building, and walked around to the back of it, luckily there was a very convenient tree beside the window belonging to Izuku's room. He climbed up, not wasting a second of time. He'd made it to a sturdy branch, opposite the window. He looked in, Izuku was sat on his bed, his hand covering the left side of his face. He looked up, making brief eye contact with katsuki. He walked over and opened the window, smiling a bit.
Katsuki stared in disbelief, the whole of the left side of the green haired boy was covered in blood, it almost looked like a good portion of his skin was straight up torn away. Katsuki reached out his arm, signalling to hand over his stuff. So he did.
He was a little concerned by how little the boy owned, it all seemed to be clothes. All basic dull clothes, and his uniform. That was important for him.
Katsuki placed it down at the end of the branch closest to the tree's trunk.
He turned back and held his arm out again. This time for Izuku. Izuku took his hand, and began to climb through the rather small window, it was just big enough for his thin body to slip through.
Once he was out the pair climbed back down the tree. Katsuki grabbed Izuku's bag, swinging it over his shoulder. His other arm supporting the boy beside him. The pair walked a fair distance away from the building before ducking away into a more hidden area. There katsuki grabbed onto Izuku's face, avoiding the injured places.
He spoke only one sentence.
"What the fuck has she been doing to you." He didn't even say it as a question. More as if he was questioning himself for not noticing earlier.
Izuku was silent. He seemed nervous. Katsuki briefly put his forehead on the other boys, before turning around.
"The quickest route to my house is through there. But we'll take this route. It's further away from your house. Less of a chance of being spotted."
Izuku nodded, he didn't quite know why katsuki was helping him this much. But he appreciated it.
He reached out and grabbed the blonde's hand. And to his surprise the other just gripped onto him, before carefully leading him around the streets.
Soon they were infront of his home. It was more of a home than Izuku's anyway. Katsuki opened the door, letting Izuku in first. When he walked in he quietly closed the door, telling Izuku to stay put.
He looked over at the door to the kitchen, it was open. And light was pouring out of it. Katsuki walked over, and there stood his mother, waiting for his return.
"Where did you go?" She asked, her tone stern.
Katsuki stared at her blankly.
"To get a friend."
Her eyes narrowed.
"Why?"
Katsuki glanced back at Izuku.
"His mom's hurting him."
He spoke quietly so he couldn't hear, but his mother's expression fell into a softer one.
"Fine, I'll let you off this time. But tell me next time. I can't have you go missing."
He nodded and went back to Izuku. Who seemed scared.
"You didn't tell her did you? Please tell me you didn't!" He said in fear.
Katsuki sighed.
"I didn't tell her." He was straight up lying. His mother was listening, trying to make sense of the situation.
Clearly this boy didn't want anyone to worry for him. But even she was concerned.
Katsuki linked his arm with the others, and led him up to his room, he opened the door, letting him in.
"You can stay in here."
Izuku looked up at him. "What about you?"
Katsuki smiled. "I don't need a bed. I can sleep downstairs."
Izuku seemed unsure but gave in. He nodded and held out his hand for his bag. Katsuki handed it over straight away and went to leave the room.
As he closed the door, he looked in at the boy again, the two of them wouldn't be going in tomorrow, not while he's in that state.
Katsuki decided to make a detour into the bathroom, and collect the first aid kit, ready for the morning.
Before he settled for the night, he fished out his phone, sending out a text to all the people in his class, all of them were concerned.
Bomb boy joined the chat.
Floater: update on deku?
Ribbit: yeah how is he?
Bomb boy: he's in my house.
Rock hard: why?
Bomb boy: had to bring him over.
Car engine: is it that bad?
Floater: I told you guys it was bad.
Pikachu boy: so he really isn't good?
Bomb boy: nope. I'm not gonna be in tomorrow, I've gotta try sort him out.
Ribbit: well it's definitely still unusual for you to be taking care of him. Y'know. Cus you always argue.
Bomb boy: yeah yeah. Now I wanna go to sleep.
Floater: goodnight!
Ribbit: night.
Bomb boy has left the chat.
Katsuki flopped down, he stared at the ceiling. He was still in his coat but that didn't matter. He needed to sleep, so he could see to Izuku quicker.
