The school was bursting with life as students were buzzing around like bees. I was now left alone at my locker because Rey had caught up with her popular friends unlike me, who doesn't have any other friends than Tiana and Kiara. They too were twins.

I took out the books I needed and closed my locker to find Brittany Roberts (The school's richest and most popular slay and drama queen ) along with her minions, Heather and Britney.

"Hie,"she grinned, batting her eyelashes at me with an innocent smile. Aaargh, I so hated that girl.

"Hey," I said walking away.

"I heard you were joining the School Musical. Your sister said you could sing better than me,"she said with mean tone.

I stopped dead and bit my bottom lip. Why or why couldn't Rey just shut up at certain times. This was supposed to be our little secret. Why did she have to go telling Brittney of all people about my talent.

"So much about keeping a secret," I muttered under my breath

"I just wanted to let you know that it would be nice to have a little competition with you. And obviously, you will lose."

Before I even said anything, she sashayed past me, her minions flipping their hair at my face. And just then, the school bell rang and I quickly got to my first class which was Bio.

This was one of my favorite classes and I was one of the good students. I was totally focused on the board as Mr Pete taught. As soon as he gave us assignments to write that very instant, he took a seat on his chair at his desk. Suddenly everyone started giggling. A lot of them took out their phones, that were forbidden in class, and began taking videos. Mr Pete silenced us with a stern voice and the class went silent. But they never put back their phones and continued taking videos. Now he was fuming and tried to stand up but... I gasped and clapped my hand to my mouth. The whole class roared with laughter.

One of the pranks our class was used to, was putting glue on Mr Pete's chair. The prank masters, Zachary Murphy and Chris Puth were famous at school because of this. They got into trouble a lot of times and received a lot of punishment, but as they say in the Jungle Book ; you can take the boy out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the boy.

"What stupid nonsense is this!" he roared with red eyes as he stood up with the chair stuck to his bottom. I couldn't help but giggle. It was funny though.

Because of that incident, class was dismissed early and I got ready for the other classes.

Physics passed quickly and I found my self in the science lab with Kiara as my partner. Mr Francois had given us some free time after our lesson to just try out a few experiments up until lunch. Since he wasn't there to monitor us, we made more noise than usual.

"Did you realize that Jason Johnson is here?" Kiara asked as she stared across the room to where Jason and his best friend Ethan were.

"No, and besides why would I care if they were here," I said mixing some yellow vinegar liquid with salt and carbonate soda which led to a lot of foam.

"Oh come on Rave. He is so cute, and charming and handsome," she said with a dreamy look on her face.

I rolled my eyes and smirked. This is what cute boys did to most of the girls at school. And it seemed like I was the only girl, who never found anything interesting about Jason. Yeah... he surely had the looks but I judged people by character, not appearances.

Lunch came and I sat down at a table where my friends where.
I hadn't seen Rey ever since morning but I was sure that her popular friends were giving her good company. We all chatted for a while and as soon as they started their daily gossip, I shut my mouth and just listened.

I was never that gossiping type. I respected people and thought it was better to tell them right at their faces about what I had to say about them.

Suddenly my phone vibrated, There was a message from Rey. She had sent a picture of us when we were still toddlers and had texted

"Rave and Rey... together forever🔥."

The picture was so cute.

The day went by quickly and soon enough the bell rang and everyone got out. I got to my locker and took out my bag along with some books that I wanted to return to the library. While walking up the stairs, my phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out and saw another message from Rey.

"Left u a lil something in the inside pocket of yr bag🙃🙃. "

I rolled my eyes as I searched the inside pocket of my bag whilst moving. Rey always had a stunt to pull on me everyday and it sometimes got annoying. I took out an envelope written

I smiled as I read the letter inside. I was invited to Charlie and Charlotte's eighteenth birthday party which was going to happen after three weeks.

"Let me guess, this is all Rey's doing," I muttered under my breath as I got to the library.

The atmosphere was so silent and still. Well what could I say, it was a library after all. I walked to Mrs Thompson's (Mrs T for short) desk and she handed me my cards in which I was supposed to place back into the books. After that, I walked around the large shelves carrying thousands of books. This time, I was interested in love and drama stories.

"Romeo and Juliet seems good," I thought as I read the back of the book. But it didn't have the kind of drama I wanted so I put it back and searched on. I finally found and interesting book called

"Five feet apart." by Rachel Lippincot.

It seemed fun, I wasn't sure about the drama though. But still.

So I searched for another book called "Just listen." by Sarah Design and finally settled down at a quiet table where there was no one sitted, took out my ipod and began to read with my earphones in my ears, playing soft violin music.

I was taken to another world filled with characters from the book and because I was so focused on the book, I lost track of time.

"Miss Smith," began a soft voice. But I never heard anything. Then whoever that was, pulled one earphone out of my ear. I turned my back and looked to find Mrs T standing holding her hip.

"Miss Smith, do you know what time it is?" she asked me.

I checked my phone and realised it was 6.30pm!.

"Oh my Gosh!" I exclaimed standing up and packing my things. "Thank you Mrs T."

I checked my phone again and realised that I had a lot of missed calls from Rey. Oh gosh, she were so worried. The thing is, I had switched my phone off because Rey had a habit of disturbing me a lot. But I just hoped that she didn't tell mom about this, or else she would totally give a huge fit. As I got out of school, I texted Rey and told her that I was coming. And she quickly answered back, telling me to stay put because she was coming herself. I placed my phone in my pocket and waited with folded arms. The sun was now setting, ready to take its rest and I could see the stars smile down upon me. It was like all the angels in Heaven were looking down upon me, with big smiles and that felt good.

"Rave!" shouted Rey as she popped her head out of a car I barely recognized. "Get in."

"Who's car is this?" I asked as I got in.

"Miss Wills, our next door neighbor," she answered as she took a U turn.

We went silent for a bit before she started...

"Why did you switch your phone off?"

"I think we both know the answer to that."

"Oh come on Raven, I was so worried about you. We were supposed to go home together after my dance class and I searched for you everywhere but I couldn't find you. I thought you had gone home already but nooo, you were in the library all along. You got me so freakin worried."

"Sorry sis," I said rubbing her arm, her eyes so focused on the road. "But you tend to get annoying at time because you are always calling me wherever I am. And I wanted some peace this time because the books I found were sooo amazing and I didn't want disturbance."

I looked at her with puppy dog eyes and she grinned.

"You know I love you right?" I began.

"Rave,"

"You are my big twin and you will always look out for me." I said with a proud look.

Yes, Renee was the older twin. I was born two minutes after but we liked to lie to people and say we were born at the same time. Well, was that even possible?

Rey pulled over at our house and unlocked the doors. She looked at me and smiled. Then we both got out, and got in.

"Mom hasn't arrived yet right?" I asked throwing my bag on the couch and going to the kitchen.

"Yep, but she will soon."

I opened the fridge and took out two cans of apple juice and threw one to my sister. We made a small dinner, locked the doors and got into our rooms after blowing kisses.

I collapsed onto my bed and stared at the ceiling. I thought about everything. My mom and how she did everything for us. Rey who always stayed positive for the both of us and me. We were a small perfect family but I couldn't help but wonder, what if there was another part of our small family that we knew nothing about? What if mom was keeping a secret from us that was haunting her inside?

"Nah," I said, going to the bathroom.

I took a quick shower and wore my pyjamas. At least I didn't have any homework to finish but I really wanted to finish Five Feet Apart. So I climbed into my comfy bed and carried on from where I stopped.
