Chapter Ten

The next morning was Friday. The last day of Ms. Lacey's mission. And Courtney was ready. She knew that she could complete Ms. Lacey's mission. I want you to get through to him. She finally knew what that meant. She knew because he had gotten through to her. Changed her view on life. So when she sat down next to him, she was ready.

"Good morning." She said as he flipped to the right page for the last assignment of the mentor project. Duncan looked surprised. He knew that she had changed her attitude towards others because of her text, but he didn't know that she'd actually say good morning to him.

"Good morning to you too, Courtney." Courtney tried not to wince. It hurt her that he didn't call her Princess anymore.

"So, how are things with Gwen?"

"We broke up."

"WHAT?!"

"I said-"

"I heard what you said I just- wha- why?"

"Because we realized after only one date that we were meant to be friends. Ya know? Like destiny and all that crap? And it was our destiny to be bro's? That and also we realized that we only started dating to try to heal our broken hearts. The week before I got here, Gwen's ex boyfriend Trent (who was her boyfriend at the time) got a deal to go on a small tour with his band cause apparently he's like, a really good singer. He wanted to decline the tour because he didn't want to leave Gwen, but she made him go because she knew that being a singer and songwriter was his dream, and that the small tour would be his kickstart. So he went. The Thursday I came to this school she broke up with him. That was before we met and had nothing to do with me, by the way. The long distance just killed her and she couldn't do it. But she realized that there was no need to try to be together to patch the wound, and she should just wait till Trent gets back. And for me, when I got to this school, I met a pretty cool girl. And I liked her. And I thought she liked me. But she made it pretty clear that she didn't like me back. But I found out yesterday that apparently she does like me! So if she wants to kiss me, I might let her." Courtney tried not to be happy that Gwen and Duncan broke up, but she couldn't help herself. But now she had a new problem! This other girl he was talking about now!

"I'm sorry about you and Gwen. now who is this girl you speak of?" She said, saying the word 'girl' in disgust.

"Well. Her name starts with a C and ends with a Y. She helps me with math, and she's sitting next to me right now." Courtney almost squealed in happiness. It was her!

"So. You might let her kiss you huh? What a f**k'in ego."

"Okay, if she wants to, I will definitely let her kiss me." Courtney rolls her eyes and smiles. Then she leans in and plants her lips against his. Her first kiss. He was a little surprised but in a few quick seconds he kissed her back. Gently, because Duncan was the softest, most gentle person ever when he wanted to be. They pulled away, looked each other in the eyes and couldn't help but kiss again, this time with a little saliva, JUST to gross you readers out.

"DUNCAN! COURTNEY! NO PDA! DETENTION!"

"This is all your fault for getting me to kiss you!" Courtney glared at Duncan in the detention room. Duncan looked really shook. Courtney cracked up.

"Just kidding! I guess we're both bad boys now." Now Duncan cracked up.

"So, are we dating now."

"Well, if you really wanna date me, I miiiight let you." Courtney mocked. Duncan gently jokingly punched her in the arm and the laughed together.

"Ya know Courtney, I've been thinking. At first, you seemed like a jerk, not gonna lie. But you're actually super cool. And maybe Harold and his loser friends are, well, ya know, cool in their own way. So I think imma put the 'bullying' to a rest. And it wouldn't hurt to get into the same college so we won't have to do the long distance crap before we get married. So imma tryda get better grades so I don't have to go to that dumb collage that helps kids with bad grades."

"That's great Duncan." At at that moment, my Mom knew that she had succeeded at Ms. Lacey's mission.

"So. How did I do?" I ask.

"It was awesome dude." says my Dad.

"Yeah! It was great dude!" says Geoff, and Bridgette nods in agreement with her husband.

"So that's why you needed my diary and all the messages on my old phone!" says my Mom.

"Yeah. And that's why I had to interview everyone in this room on their point of view on the week and two days that lead up to you and Dad's first kiss." I say. I look around to see Tom and Corey, who are now married, my parents, Geoff and Bridgette who are now married with two kids, Trent and Gwen who are married with one kid, Brody, DJ, and Ms. Lacey. Tom and my Mom are still tight as my leather jeans, by the way. They finally learned to have some fun ever since that Friday my parents had their first kiss. They even went skydiving together! After everyone congratulates me on the story, I find Ms. Lacey. She's getting old, but her spirit is still the same.

"Thanks."

"For what?"

"For being the reason I'm alive today." I say, giggling. Ms. Lacey smiles.

"Oh, it wasn't just me. But thanks for the thank you, your a very sweet young lady, just like both your parents." After everyone leaves, I rub my Mom's belly.

"Now when the baby is old enough, I can read him you and Dad's love story!" I say. My Mom smiles.

"That would be great Angela."

"Yeah kid." says my Dad, playfully ruffling my hair. He may be getting older, but he hasn't lost his spark. Ugh. Sparks. There's an annoying new kid at my school who has a crush on me. My teacher says that he has a "spark", but I say he's annoying. And to make it worse? I have to help him with math next Monday.

THE END

Should I make a story about Duncan and Courtney and their life with Angela? Comment down below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I do not own ANY of the characters besides Ms. Lacey, Ms. Brooks, Viper, Corey and Angelica. The rest of the characters are owned by the creators of the Total Drama series. However I do own Oakleaf high. And I own the plot. Thanks!
