Hetalia ~ Somewhere Warm
A/N: Ok so I got really sad while writing this...
It's kinda short, but ... enjoy!
The cold winter wind whipped around his face and blew through his hair. Tears froze on his soft, pale cheeks as he stared at the object in his hands. A sunflower. It stood out it sharp contrast to the snow and ice around him, and Ivan found it to be one of the most of the most beautiful things in the world. He loved the way its bright orange-yellow petals stood out wherever it was, immediately drawing attention to it. With a small smile, he knelt down and put the plant in the deep snow, making a mound around it to hold up the stem. It was already half frozen, and Ivan knew it would be dead before the next day, but still, he left it there. Grinning, he stood up and turned to walk away, the wind and falling snow buffeting the side of his face. After a few steps, however, he fell down, sobs wracking his body as he glanced at the flower out of the corner of his eye. Ivan knew he wasn't okay. He knew he wasn't alright. But there was nothing anyone could do about. He'd seen far too much death and bloodshed to go back to the way he was before. Now look at me, he thought bitterly, taking shaky breaths but unable to get himself under control. I'm planting sunflowers in Russia. This thought only made him sob harder. What was happening to him? He could barely remember the days when he had been normal. Rolling onto his back, Ivan lay in the snow, shivering. He'd somehow forgotten his scarf, the one his sister gave him. More tears froze to his face as he glanced at the wilting sun flower. All I want is to go somewhere warm, he thought. Somewhere with warm weather ... and warm people. People who love and don't hurt each other.
The snow spiraled downward, sticking to his eyelashes and eyebrows. He shivered again.
If I could just unite everyone ... I would make everyone treat each other with kindness. I would make sure that no one ... that no one is as hurt as I feel now.
Though he didn't notice, Ivan's lips were turning blue. He should've gotten up, but he didn't. He knew one of his sisters or servants would find him eventually. Besides, he didn't think he would mind it that much if he died out there. As long as he got to go...
Somewhere warm.
