Preschool
Private whimpered as his Mummy left, leaving him in the room full of strange children that he didn't know. The blonde haired, slightly chubby, three year old sucked on his thumb, looking anxiously for someone to play with, his big innocent eyes landing on another boy. He, like Private, was slightly chubby with short dark hair and dark eyes. He was playing with another boy, slightly taller and leaner, with wild dark hair and eyes, a scar across his face. The two seemed to be having a water fight- it looked fun so Private timidly walked over, standing in front of them.
"H-hi..." he stuttered, hoping they were nice, they looked a bit tougher than he was.
"Hi!" the shorter boy said.
"Can I play wif oo?" Private asked, blinking up at him. The two boys considered then nodded in agreement.
"We're pwaying spies!" the taller boy said. "I Rico, this Skipper!"
"Me Private!" Private replied. The three began to play together, giggling whenever they defeated a plush toy enemy.
Another boy sat at the other end of the room, alone, looking at one of the books, fairly strong at reading despite hs young age. The four year old had Esio Trot balanced on his lap, pushing glasses up his nose ever so often. Every now and then someone would shove him from behind for fun, knocking him over slightly, getting little to no reaction except the occasional sigh from the smart black haired boy who kept tears from welling up in his blue eyes.
Skipper, despite only being young, had a strong sense of right and wrong and noticed someone shove the taller, slender boy. He considered then walked over, chewing the sandwich he had in his lunch box and sat next to the boy.
"Hi!" he said.
"Hello..." the other boy said, cautiously. Sadly, because the glasses wearing four year old didn't fit the stereotype of his age, he got a lot of teasing meaning he was worried Skipper might make fun of him too.
"What's your name?" Skipper asked, Rico and Private also coming over.
"Kowalski," came the quiet reply, a tad less cautious than before.
"Do oo wanna play wif us?" Rico asked. Kowalski nodded, cheerfully, happy someone liked him for a change.
Thus was their life at preschool.
