Movie Night
This chapter is dedicated to @TonyGarcia348 because I finally found another person who actually likes 'Last Jedi'.
Movie nights were something typically avoided by the group, simply because they all had such different interests in genre.
However Skipper was bored- too bored- especially seeing that his whole team were following the routine they usually followed when not doing some kind of a mission. Rico was exploding stuff (why was a mystery), Private was playing with his unicorn and Kowalski had his nose buried in some Science book. Even the title looked boring to Skipper who very much wanted a little variation in the day-to-day.
"OK boys, we're having a movie night!" he declared. Private and Rico looked up, Kowalski's eyes flickered up briefly from the pages. No-one looked too enthusiastic. Skipper sighed, taking the book out of Kowalski's hands- gaining an irritated glance from the Scientist. At times Skipper would swear that he liked books more than people but that was just a theory.
"Oh- and I'm choosing the film," he added. At once Rico and Private began to loudly protest- Kowalski rolled his eyes.
"Don't choose horror again," Kowalski suggested. "We hardly need a repeat of last time." Skipper gave his lieutenant an amused look, nodding in agreement. Last time Private was so freaked that he puked then didn't sleep- it was obvious why the person who ended up cleaning it wouldn't want a repeat.
"Stop arguing! Cmon it could be fun!" Skipper urged, sitting on the sofa, giving them a pointed look. They all sighed in resignation and sat down too, Kowalski at the end, legs curled up beneath him, resting is cheek on his hand. Rico sat on the other end, slouched, and Private by him.
Skipper pressed play and the movie began. He'd chosen Star Wars: The Last Jedi carefully. There was (like most Star Wars films) explosions for Rico, for Private there were a few cute animal like things, there was action for Skipper and it was often seen as a 'geek' film.
Honestly he couldn't see why this film had such a bad rep, it was personally Skipper's favorite of the series. And, for once, it was a film his team mates seemed to be enjoying. He smiled glad he'd gotten his team.. his brothers to spend some time together outside of training and missions. It was a nice thought.
So this whole book is dedicated to @HunterShaz because she's amazing- not just as a writer but as a friend. I've known her so long that she's become my sister and if it wasn't for her I'd never be on Wattpad. So check out her stories- they're amazing!
