Those scenes also didn't make me laugh ( especially the last one with a coffin falling down & opening showing a dead Troll Clown inside ).

I think that the creators decided the Troll in a coffin to be a clown to make that scene somehow 'funnier' if possible - cause if a regular Troll with no funny make up on his face was there - everyone would focus their attention on him & the viewers would feel sorry. And if a dead Troll still had his clown make up on & his eyes looked like in some cartoons ' x.x ' - it didn't look 'as sad & bad' as it could in every other case. & some younger viewers may still have laughed at panicking Branch - if that scene made them laugh.
