Chapter 5 (Answers)

There was an employee on the floor, whose head was locked between Mangle's jaws. There were a few people trying to unhinge Mangle's jaw to free the man. Mangle's eyes had the same glossy black look the others had; the only difference was the white of her pupils. You ran up to them to help, and a few people started to look inside the room. You looked up at one of the employees.

"I need you to get everyone out of here," you told him, and he nodded.

"Alright, everyone! There's no need to panic. I need everyone to follow me in a kindly fashion!" he explained as he stood tall in the doorway.

Another man stood up, giving you the room to kneel beside Mangle. The man on the floor started to squirm as Mangle's jaws closed tighter. You banged your fist against the side of her head, trying to snap her out of it. You continued to hit her, and the other guy stared at you in shock. Mangle's eyes went dark and she went silent, and the guy in front of you pulled Mangle's mouth open, freeing the young man. Mangle went limp and her head fell to the floor, as the others pulled the employee away from her. Blood was pouring profusely from the gash in the man's head, and his skull was caved in from the pressure.

"Can you hear me?" a guy asked as he took off his jacket and held it against his wound. "Stay with me! I need you to stay awake, kid."

You looked over at Mangle, whose eyes started to regain their color. She raised her head some and looked up at you. You squinted at her, and she looked past you.

"An ambulance is here!" someone said as they ran into the room.

One of the men carefully picked him up and started for the doorway, and you stood up. The other kept his jacket against the man's head. They left the room, leaving you and Mangle alone. You looked back at Mangle in disbelief, before running out of the room. You ran towards the front doors and looked through the glass, where people were crowding the front of the pizzeria. The man was carried into the back of an ambulance, that was in the parking lot. They quickly closed the doors and raced towards the hospital.

You looked back, to see the animatronics walk into the dining area. They looked at each other in bewilderment, and you squinted at them. You stomped into Kids' Cove, where Mangle was regaining her composure.

"What the hell was that?" you barked.

"It wasn't me-"

"It wasn't you? That guys skull was crushed, between your jaws. You can not tell me that this wasn't your fault!" you bellowed.

"Woah, what's going on?" Toy Bonnie wondered as he stepped into the room, the rest watched from the doorway.

"And you guys! Whatever happened to keeping your customers safe! Huh? A man was almost killed, and you guys just stood like some statues!" you growled.

"Darling, please let me explain," Mangle pleaded.

"Don't call me 'darling.' And I don't want to hear it!" you hissed.

"That guy was trying to kidnap a kid," she blurted.

"Really?" you snapped.

"Well, I thought he was. He kneeled down to the girl and grabbed her hand," Mangle tried to explain herself.

"So you bit him!?" you argued.

"I wasn't going to bite him, but something took over me and made me do it."

"(Y/N), you have to understand that, what she did wasn't her fault. Nothing that we do is our fault," Toy Chica tried to defend her.

"Are you guys really trying to convince me that you all aren't monsters?" you ranted, and the animatronics winced at your hurtful words.

"I don't think this is the best place to talk," Toy Freddy muttered.

"I don't want to talk to you guys!" you scoffed and stormed out, pushing past Toy Bonnie, who tried to stop you.

You stomped towards the front doors, and a hand on your shoulder made you stop. You looked back to see the Marionette towering over you. You jerked your shoulder from his grasp and took a few steps back, glaring up at the puppet.

"I think it's time I told you why we're like this," he spoke calmly.

"I don't want to hear it," you sneered as you turned back around.

"Then tonight-"

"Ever!" you growled, and the Puppet forcefully turned you to look at him.

"You are to come back here tonight-" he started.

"And if I don't," you snarled.

"Then you will never know what happened to us," Marionette said sternly.

". . . Ugh, whatever," you grumbled, turning from him and walking out the front doors.

The crowd of people started to scatter, as parents took their confused children home. Employees of the place started to walk back inside, but you walked past them and down the sidewalk. You decided to take a taxi home, not bothering to think about turning back.

You turned in bed, trying to get some sleep. It wasn't that you couldn't get the scene out of your head, but the animatronics. Marionette said that something had happened to them, and you couldn't help but question what it was. You groaned and stuffed your face in your pillow. The thought of going back crossed your mind, but you quickly shook it away; you couldn't stand to confront them after what they did.

An image popped into your mind, and you sat up. The image was vivid, and you felt as if you were there yourself. It was a picture of the Marionette, standing behind a young boy. They were standing in front of a small building. More images appeared, seeming like a film reel playing out a scene. A car pulled up, blocking your view from the boy and the Marionette. It stayed there for a few seconds, before speeding away, and revealing the boy standing in his own pool of blood. The boy collapsed, and the Marionette looked up at you, before the images disappeared.

"Save them," a chilling voice whispered into your ear, and a figure of the Marionette jumped at you from the other side of the room.

You jolted awake, drenched in a cold sweat. You frantically looked around, to see you were in your room; you had fallen asleep after thinking about the animatronics. You sighed and leaned against the bed board, taking your phone out of your pocket and looking at the time; it was 8:46 PM. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed at nine o'clock. You sighed, realizing that the thought of the animatronics were just going to continue to cloud your mind. You jumped out of bed and paused; you had planned to move into the basement of the pizzeria, but now you were hesitant. You let out a long sigh, and decided to stick with your plan.

You got your suitcase out of your closet and started to pack your things. You put in all your clothes, a few towels and washcloths, all of your hygienic products, your electronic devices and their chargers, your pencil box and artbooks, a few books that you had planned to read, and a few pillows and blankets; your flashlight was still on your belt loop, so you didn't need to pack it. When you got everything in the suitcase, you forced it closed and zipped it up. You stood up and slipped on an oversized black sweater, that had a hood on it.

You pulled the suitcase up and extended the handle. You dragged it through the apartment and out the front doors. Peter's stuff was gone, so you had guessed earlier that he already left. You rolled your suitcase behind you as you walked down the sidewalk. You decided you could make your way to the pizzeria, and when a taxi came around, you could hitch a ride.

You walked up to the front doors of the pizzeria. It was just a few minutes after closing time, so you assumed some employees were still inside. You quietly opened the doors, making sure nobody saw you with your suitcase. You walked over and hid it behind the Prize Counter; it wasn't a permanent hiding place, but it was good enough for the time being.

You walked towards the Show Stage, where the animatronics were in their places. Toy Bonnie's eyes zoomed in to look at you, and you raised your eyebrow smugly. A door in the floor of the stage opened up, and he readjusted his eyes. Scott, the employee you spoke to earlier, stepped out and closed the door behind him. He looked back, and saw you. He stepped off the Show Stage and walked towards you.

"Hello, (Y/N). Um, you're back?" he asked, sounding surprised.

"I've still got the job, right?"

"There isn't much of a job anymore. The place is closing for good at the end of the year," he replied sadly.

"Oh. Still. Are you the only one here?"

"Yeah."

"Why don't you go on home? I'll go ahead and close up, and then I'll work my shift," you told him.

"Oh, you were still wanting to work the night shift?" he wondered.

"Yeah," you said.

"Well, um, you don't need my help closing up?" he worried.

"No, I'll be fine. You just, go on home," you added, ushering him to go.

"Uh, okay then. I'll see you later, then. Maybe," he muttered as he handed you the keys to the pizzeria, and then headed for the front doors.

He opened the door and looked back at you; you waved him goodbye as you stuffed the keys in your pocket, and he nodded. He left the pizzeria, and you waited until you saw his headlights turn on, before looking around. The animatronics shifted in their positions, and you looked back at them. Toy Bonnie jumped off the stage and walked up to you. You "humphed" and took a step back from him.

"You're not still upset, are you?" he wondered, tilting his head at you innocently.

"I'm only here to finish my job," you grunted, crossing your arms defensively.

"That sounds like an excuse if I ever heard one," Toy Bonnie snickered, crossing his arms mockingly.

Toy Chica and Toy Freddy carefully got off the stage and walked up behind Toy Bonnie. You heard a giggle, and turned around to see Balloon Boy standing behind you, Mangle was crawling on the ceiling towards you. You turned around, and came face to face with Marionette. You stumbled back a bit, and he leaned back, standing tall.

"Are you ready to listen?" he asked.

"Yes. But you can tell me everything while I clean you guys up. I'm never good at doing one thing at a time," you explained.

"I understand. I will be waiting," he replied.

You nodded and walked past him. You hopped onto the Show Stage, and walked in front of the floor door. You lifted up a handle and pulled the door up, revealing a wide set of stairs. You descended down, keeping the door open behind you. You walked down into a large kitchen area, there was an island in the center of the room, and ovens, a couple sinks, and table tops against the walls. There were swinging doors in the left corner.

You walked across the kitchen and walked through the doors, into an employee lounge room. There was a couch against the left wall—where you decided to sleep—and a few chairs surrounding a coffee table. There were a few round dining tables with chairs pushed against them. A counter was against the right wall, that had a coffee maker on it, as well as styrofoam cups and cream packets. There was a closet across the room, that had the sign "Supplies."

You opened the door, it was only filled with cleaning supplies. You grabbed a hand towel and a small bucket. You closed the door and made your way back. When you got into the kitchen, you put the bucket in one of the sinks, and filled it up with warm water. When it was done, you turned off the faucets, and heaved the bucket up and out of the sunk. You struggled to carry it out of the kitchen and up the stairs.

"Need some help?" Toy Bonnie greeted you at the top of the stairs; you looked up at him, and he grabbed the bucket from you.

"I could've done it myself. What if you end up spilling it on yourself?" you scoffed as you stepped onto the stage.

"Pfft, I'm not going to spill it on myself," he said as you turned to close the door; he hopped off the stage. "OH GOD!"

"What!" you worried, dropping the door closed and looking back, he was kneeled over. "Are you okay?" you fretted, running up to the edge of the stage to see him.

"Oh gee! I got you good!" he laughed.

"What?" you growled.

"Oh, you should see your face," he chuckled as he turned to look at you.

"I swear to god," you groaned, pinching the bridge of your nose.

"Aw, it's okay babe. Ol' Bonbon ain't going anywhere," Toy Bonnie snickered as he turned around.

You followed him as he and the rest walked through the Main Hall, and around the corner. They walked down the hall and into the office, and Toy Bonnie set the bucket on the desk. You walked past them and behind the desk.

"Who do I start with?" you wondered.

"My story is where it all starts. So, start with me," Marionette announced as he stepped forward.

"Okay," you said as you rolled your sleeves up.

You dipped the washcloth in the water, squeezing most of the water out of it. You walked around the desk and stood in front of him. He stood still as you kneeled down. You started to carefully wipe his legs down. You stopped and looked up at him, gesturing for him to start his story.

"Do you remember those images you saw?" he spoke, and you froze.

"How do you know about those?" you wondered in disbelief.

"I was the one that showed you them," he chuckled.

"How?"

"It doesn't matter how. I suppose you remember though, so I will begin," he said, and you hesitantly continued to wipe him down. "Before I became a puppet, I was a child."

"Yeah?" you wondered as you moved up to his thighs.

"I was waiting for my mother to pick me up, after a day at Fredbear's Family Diner," he explained; you gently wiped his sides. "While I was waiting, someone pulled their car in front of me, as though they were going to pick me up."

"I saw that," you muttered, starting at the Marionette's hands and arms.

"A man stepped out of the car. He talked to me, trying to convince me to follow him into the back of his car. I told him repeatedly that I was waiting for my mother. When he started to get pushy, I told him I was going to wait inside. That's when he pulled out a knife," Marionette told you, and you paused, before slowly continuing on his torso and back. "He stabbed me, multiple times. When I started to cough up blood, he quickly got back in his car and drove away. I collapsed onto the ground, in a pool of my own blood. I attempted to call out for someone, but blood started to suffocate me, and I couldn't. Before anyone could notice, I bled out. When I awoke, I was in a box, and from then on, I was known as the Puppet."

". . . Oh," you stammered; it was the only thing you could say.

"I believe I am cleaned, and spoken for," Marionette said.

"Hold on," you mumbled.

You stood on your tiptoes and wiped his neck. He kneeled down, and you gently wiped his head and face. When you were done, he stood back up and stepped back. You turned around and rinsed the wash cloth, although it wasn't very dirty. Balloon Boy stepped forward and pulled at the bottom of your sweater. You turned around and looked down at him.

"Hi," he said.

"I guess you're next?" you chuckled, and he giggled; you sat on the floor and started to wipe his legs.

"Because of my incident, the Fredbear diner was closed, and it was sold to a larger company: Fazbear Entertainment," Marionette started, Balloon Boy laughed, and you raised an eyebrow.

"Then what happened?" you wondered as you began to wipe Balloon Boy's stomach, who continued to chuckle.

"A few years later, many locations were opened, including a Fredbear themed restaurant, and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Multiple springlock failures occured at the Fredbear location, killing a child. Because of this, the location was shut down, and the suits were moved to the safe room in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Not long after, the man, who killed me, used one of the suits to lure four children into the safe room. That is-" Marionette was interrupted by Balloon Boy's loud laughter again.

"What? Wait, am I tickling you?" you laughed, and he chuckled. "Okay, I'll try to be more careful."

"That is where he killed them. When I found them afterwards, I first tried to give them gifts, thinking that they were just sad. When I figured out that they were killed, I put them into the Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy suits, giving them life. I lead the child that was killed in the last location, to the Fredbear suit. The man was caught on camera walking in and out, but because it took place in an area that was invisible to the cameras, he was declared 'not guilty.' "

"Not cool," you muttered as you sat on your knees, and wiped Balloon Boy's arms. "What about the animatronics here?"

"The old pizzeria was closed due to 'health issues.' The carcasses I had stuffed in the old suits were starting to rot, and getting the animatronics many complaints about their smell. After a few years, another pizzeria, this one, was opened and built with five new animatronics. This time, the animatronics were built to keep anything from happening, but that doesn't stop him."

"Who's him?" you asked as you started to wipe Balloon Boy's face and head; he giggled and you grinned.

"The only him I've been talking about.  Around a week ago-"

"A week ago?" you wondered.

"Yes," he replied, and you nodded.

"I'm done with you, Balloon Boy," you told him, and he laughed as he stepped back; you stood up and rinsed out the wash cloth.

"I shouldn't take too long, dear," Mangle said as she lowered on the floor behind you.

"Oh, where can I wipe you down?" you worried.

"Try to keep from getting my wires wet, could you?" Mangle suggested.

"Yeah," you said, and started to wipe off her feet; she giggled and shifted her feet.

"Sorry, darling. It just tickles some," she giggled, and you chuckled.

You quickly wiped her feet off, and started on her hands. There wasn't much to Mangle, so it didn't take long to almost be done. Her ears twitched as you wiped them, and you carefully held her face in your hand, wiping her cheeks, around her eyes, and her snout.

"That should be it," you stated as you stood up, and she climbed back onto the ceiling.

"Thank you," she said as you turned to the bucket.

"Oh, anytime, I guess," you muttered as you rinsed the wash cloth.

"I'll go next," Toy Freddy said as he stepped in front of you; the rest were probably going to be harder than the others.

"Okay," you said, and started on his feet; Toy Freddy held back a giggle as you wiped his toes. "Marionette?"

"Yes. Around a week ago, the same man returned. He used the old Fredbear suit to lure five more children into the back, killing them like he did the rest. I did the same with those children, giving them new life in Toy Freddy, Toy Chica, Toy Bonnie, Mangle, and Balloon Boy," Marionette continued as you finished wiping Toy Freddy's legs; you started to wipe his tummy, sides, and back, and he couldn't help but to chuckle.

"What happened earlier today, then?" you wondered.

"The man was working as an employee here at the pizzeria, so the animatronics started to become cautious around them. Although you had somewhat fixed their programming last night, the spirits of the children will occasionally control the animatronics' bodies. When Mangle saw that employee grab that kid, the spirit attacked him in the only way they could; they bit him."

"So, it really wasn't her fault?" you asked, wiping Toy Freddy's arms and hands.

"No, it wasn't."

"Wait, what are the animatronics, exactly?"

"The animatronics have been brought to life by the spirits of the children. But the children are not the animatronics," Marionette explained, and you nodded as you carefully wiped Toy Freddy's snout.

"I think I understand," you said as you wiped Toy Freddy's cheeks; you quickly wiped the rest of his face, the back of his head, his ears, and his hat.

"Are you done?" Toy Freddy wondered as you stood back.

"Yep," you replied as you turned to the bucket, washing out the hand towel.

"I'll go next!" Toy Chica exclaimed as she hopped forward.

You turned back around to Toy Chica, and kneeled down. You quickly wiped off her feet, making Toy Chica giggle and flinch a bit. You wiped her legs off, rather quickly, considering her thin figure compared to Toy Freddy. You wiped off her sides, tummy, and back. You wiped off her bib, before starting on her arms. When you got to her hands, you held her plate and cupcake, and wiped them off. Handing her plate back to her, you wiped off her beak, and the rest of her head, including the three "feathers" on the top of her head.

"You're all good," you spoke as you stepped back.

"Thanks!" she cheered.

"Mhm," you hummed as you rinsed out the washcloth.

"Guess that leaves me," Toy Bonnie crowed as he stepped in front of you.

"We'll give you two some privacy." Toy Chica giggled as she and the rest started to walk out.

"Privacy? I'm doing to him what I did to you guys," you grumbled.

"Yeah, but it's him." Toy Chica giggled as she and the rest disappeared into the Party Rooms; you paused for a moment.

"What's that supposed to mean!" you blurted after her.

You looked back up at Toy Bonnie, and he winked at you. You rolled your eyes and groaned, expecting him to make a big deal out of every little thing.
