Chapter 25 (Procrastination)

"Where are we going?" Toy Bonnie wondered as you walked out of the room and down the hall.

"Well, since we've already got the Xbox on, we can play some games," you replied.

"What kind of games?" Toy Chica blurted as she skipped behind you.

"Oh, I've got a ton of games. Some Sonic games, a few Mario ones, Left 4 Dead—1 and 2—Minecraft . . . Um, and those are just off the top of my head. I've got a bunch more. You guys can look through it and see what interests you, if you'd like," you explained as you set Toy Bonnie on the floor.

"Aren't you supposed to pay your bills and stuff?" Toy Freddy asked, shuffling into the living room.

"Mm- I could do those later," you muttered as you walked into the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" Mangle inquired.

"I'm getting something to eat," you mused.

"Didn't you just finish eating?" Toy Bonnie wondered.

"Yeah, but . . ." You paused as you blushed embarrassment. "Yeah, I guess I did," you mumbled.

You turned back around, and sat on the floor in front of the TV. You looked over, avoiding the rests' eyes. Toy Chica got on the shelf of the TV stand, and looked through the row of DVD cases.

"Uhm, where are the rest?" she wondered as she looked back at you.

"I mean-"

"I thought you said you had a ton?" Toy Chica added.

"Well, I don't have a ton," you admitted. "Just, choose one."

Toy Chica turned back towards the DVDs and looked through them. Toy Bonnie looked up at you and quickly hopped into your lap. You looked down at him, somewhat startled by his swift movement; his ears fell back as he lowered his head. You gave him a warm smile and he perked up.

"What about this one?" Toy Chica blurted, trying to pull a case out from the row.

"What's it called?" you wondered as you pulled it out and looked at it. "Left 4 Dead 2? There can only be two players. Unless, we had another Xbox to connect this one to, but, we don't. Yeah! We can play this," you sputtered.

You opened the case and carefully pulled out the disc. You placed the disc in the tray, after opening it, and closed it back. The console whirred as it processed the CD. You connected the extra remote to the Xbox as you waited for the game to play. As the opening music played and the Valve logo showed up, Mangle and Toy Freddy quietly shuffled to your sides, and Toy Chica ran up to you.

"That was creepy," Toy Chica shuddered, and you chuckled.

"Where's Balloo-" you started, looking back towards the hallway. "Oh, hey, Balloon Boy," you said, upon seeing him sitting on the couch.

"Hey, (Y/N), I've got a question that's been bothering me for a while," Toy Freddy said.

"What is it?" you wondered, skipping the opening cutscene of the game.

"The story you read that had the idea of us shapeshifitng? What was it?" he continued.

"Oh. It's a story about a game," you mumbled bashfully.

"What game?"

"Mm- . . . Five Nights at Bill- Hey, look, the game's on!" you exclaimed, trying to get his attention on something else.

"Oh, I don't mean to be rude, but, what are those things?" Mangle wondered.

"Zombies," you replied, going through the menus to open co-op.

"Zombies?" Toy Bonnie blurted worryingly.

"Yeah. Um, would you guys even be able to play? There are so many buttons on the controller that you need to use, and you guys have such small hands," you thought aloud.

"Let me try," Toy Freddy offered as he reached for the controller.

You gave it to him, and he struggled to keep a good grip on it. He set it on the floor and pressed a few buttons. He looked up at you and nodded.

"You have to do that, while simultaneously moving the joysticks, as well as pressing the triggers at the top of the controller. Not to mention having to use the D-pad," you told him.

He paused for a second as he stared down at it. "Um . . . The rest of us can work together!"

"Yeah!" Toy Chica cheered.

"Balloon Boy, do you want to play?" Toy Freddy wondered, and Balloon Boy shook his head. "Okay. Toy Bonnie, get the buttons. Mangle, man the triggers. Toy Chica, you get the D-pad thing. I'll move the joysticks. We can do this!" Toy Freddy announced.

You waited patiently, watching as they all gathered around the controller. You started a co-op game, playing the first chapter of Dead Center. The rest would probably argue over which character to pick, so you just left it to randomize. You quickly pressed the menu button of their controller to turn it on, and it automatically connected to Peter's old account.

"I guess you guys can play on his. I'll explain the controls as we go," you told the rest as the ear-splitting cutscene played.

"Come back! Come back! Aah, he ain't comin' back," you were able to hear one of the characters speak.

"Oh, I'm Coach," you stated.

"Who are we?" Toy Freddy wondered.

"You're Nick. Walk around with the left stick, and look around with the right one. Come over to this table and pick up a weapon," you said.

You looked over at his character, to see him look up into the air and spin around. You held back a snicker as you looked down at Toy Freddy. Toy Freddy grunted as his eyes quickly darted at you and back at the screen.

"Oh gee, Toy Freddy, stop spinning. It's making me dizzy," Mangle quavered.

"Sorry, Mangle. I'm trying my best," he mused, and you looked down at his hands.

"Don't hold the joystick over, you'll just keep turning. Move it a little bit at a time. You see the crosshair at the center of your screen? You want to aim it where you want to look. Look over at me."

"Okay. Like this?" Toy Freddy asked, as he slowly looked over at your character.

"Yeah. Now, walk over here and to the table," you told him.

"Okay," he muttered, moving his character.

"Look at the first aid kit, and, Toy Bonnie, press the 'X' button," you instructed, and they both did as you said.

"Oh, it disappeared," Toy Bonnie blurted.

"No, you guys picked it up. Use it when your health is low. You can tell how much health you have by looking at the green bar in the right corner there," you explained.

"It says 100," Mangle pointed out.

"Yeah, that's because you guys haven't taken any damage yet. If I were to shoot you, it-"

"Why would you shoot us?" Toy Chica worried.

"I'm not going to, I was just using that as an example. You'll see when we get downstairs. Do you guys want to keep using the gun, or one of the melee weapons?" you said.

"Which one is better?" Toy Freddy wondered.

"Uhm, the gun, but, you would have to aim. I'd advise using one of the melee weapons, because you can just swing willy-nilly and you'll be fine," you suggested.

"Which one are you using?" Toy Chica asked as Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie worked together to pick up the axe.

"I'm using the pistols," you answered her as you walked up to their character.

"We have it," Toy Freddy announced.

"Okay, face me," you instructed, and their character turned to look at you. "Mangle, press the left bottom button to shove me."

The character swung the axe at you, taking your health down to 98. "Ow! Toy Freddy's left, Mangle. That was the fire button."

"Oh, sorry," Mangle mumbled, and she pressed the other trigger.

"That's okay," you chuckled, shoving their character back.

"Why'd you say 'ow'? Did it physically hurt you?" Toy Bonnie jeered.

"I- . . . Quite being a smart-ass," you grumbled, and he huffed. "Toy Freddy, follow me."

". . . Hey, (Y/N)? I have a question," Toy Bonnie mumbled.

"Yeah?" you wondered, making your character walk through the doorway and down the stairs.

"Why didn't we grab my guitar? And why would you use it to kill us?" he blurted.

". . . Well, it was the only thing I could use. We didn't grab it, because it was busted up. I can buy you a new, real, one, if you'd like," you suggested as the rests' character slowly made their way beside you.

"But, I want my guitar," he whined.

"Fine, we can get it next time we go to the pizzeria. Open that door. The 'X' button is the 'use' button," you explained, and they did as you said.

"Ew, are those the zombies?" Mangle shuddered.

"Yeah," you replied, taking down a few that ran after their character.

"Oh. Is that blood?" Toy Chica gulped.

"Yeah. Follow me into this room with the double doors. Um, I've got a question for you guys," you murmured.

"What is it?" Toy Bonnie urged.

"How come you don't have to ea- Sweet, a magnum!" you cheered.

"What's that?"

"A really good gun. You guys can get one if you want. Oh, follow me to this window area."

"What's over here?" Toy Chica asked.

"What was it you were asking?" Toy Bonnie reminded you.

". . . I don't remember. I just want to show you- SHIT!" Your character hung from the ledge of the balcony, and you sighed. "Get me up- Nevermind, thank you, Ellis."

"Why'd you do that?" Mangle asked you.

"I jumped on the rail to show you over the edge, here. I was gonna tell you guys to try to keep from falling off. How ironic."

"Here we are, this should be enough," you announced, as you made your way to the Gordo.

The rest could barely handle the gore and spooks of Left 4 Dead, but when a Hunter tackled them, that was what pushed them over the edge. They all abandoned their controller and went to hide behind you. You decided to quit playing, and switched over to Slime Rancher. You started a new game for the rest, despite them not being able to play using a controller. They had caught onto how everything worked, rather quickly.

"3, 2, 1 . . . This fat twat!" you barked.

"(Y/N)!" Toy Bonnie scolded you, thumping his foot on your leg.

"Shut the hell up, Toy Bonnie. Ugh, I have to find more food, and then walk all the way back here." You sighed as you rubbed your eyes.

"You could see if there's another exchange ready," Mangle suggested.

"(Y/N), it's a thing!" Toy Chica blurted.

"Hm? What thing?" you babbled.

"Do you not hear the music?" Toy Bonnie added.

"What music? I don't hear any music," you muttered, disregarding their panic.

"A Tarr, (Y/N)! Look to your left!" Toy Chica sputtered.

"Where?" you said, turning your character to the right.

"I see your smile, (Y/N)! You know what we're talking about!" Toy Bonnie nagged, and you snickered.

"It's got a- NO, IT ATE IT!" Toy Chica cried out.

"Shh-h-h," you laughed.

"You let it happen, (Y/N)! You're a murderer!" Toy Chica protested.

"Not my problem," you said, running past it.

"(Y/N), it's gonna keep eating slimes," Toy Bonnie whined.

"It'll despawn eventually," you chuckled. "Can you go get me another pack of crackers?"

"We're out."

"Look, I couldn't've done anything about the slime. If you really want me to, I'll go back and water it," you scoffed.

"No, I mean, we're out. The one I gave you a while ago was the last one," Toy Bonnie explained.

"Oh. What time is it?" you asked, stretching your arms.

"Around 3, I think," Toy Freddy replied.

You sighed. "So much for a productive day."

"You've still got at least a few hours," Mangle pointed out.

"Why don't you take a break from the games, (Y/N). Maybe you can pay your bills," Toy Freddy suggested.

"Mm- I can after I take a shower," you mused, saving and exiting your game—Toy Freddy sighed.

"Okay, you're out of the shower," Toy Freddy greeted you on the other side of the bathroom door.

"And?" you murmured as you rubbed the towel through your wet hair.

"Pay your bills, (Y/N)!" Toy Freddy barked.

"What time is it?" you asked.

"4-something. Why does it matter?" Toy Freddy grumbled.

"Ah, you see, I think the place I need to mail it through, is closed," you revealed.

Toy Freddy stared at you, and you shrugged your shoulders innocently. He furrowed his eyebrows as he turned around and walked down the hall.

"Where are you going?" you wondered.

"Bed," he grunted.

"But, it's 4," you chuckled.

"Don't. Care."
