Chapter 22 (Almost Caught)

You woke up to a heavy burden on your chest. You yawned, about to stretch, when you noticed it. You looked down, to see Mangle curled up on your chest. You had your arm around Toy Bonnie, as Balloon Boy lay at your side, Toy Freddy was across your legs, and Toy Chica thought the crevice of your neck was a comfortable spot to sleep.

You wondered how you were going to get up, without waking them. You had to go to the bathroom, but there was no way you could disturb the rest, since they were just too cute. Mangle lifted her head to look at you, and you widened your eyes.

"Did I wake you up?" you worried quietly.

"No, I felt your breathing pattern change . . . And I felt you move," Mangle whispered.

"Sorry, I have to use the restroom," you told her.

"I see," she said as she stretched and jumped off you.

"How am I supposed to get up?" you wondered.

"Well, most of the others aren't really on you, and Toy Freddy's in such a deep sleep that he's snoring," Mangle pointed out, making you notice the deep grunting. "You could just roll him over."

You looked over at Toy Freddy, and carefully slid your arms underneath him. You slowly rolled him off your legs, getting a snort from him. When he was off you, and you made sure he hadn't woken up, you drew your legs in and twisted around.

"Thank you," you said softly, as you pushed yourself off the bed.

When you didn't hear a reply, you looked back—Mangle had already fallen back asleep. You smirked, muffling a chuckle, and turned back.

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" Toy Bonnie sang, splashing you with water as he jumped around in the bathtub.

"You're two months late, Bonbon! Now hold still, I'm trying to bathe you!" you said in irritation, trying to follow him with the hose.

"I don't want to bathe!" he objected.

"Toy Bonnie, you brought this on yourself! You don't go rolling in the box that had the ornaments in them! You got glitter all over yourself!" you ranted, trying to talk over the flowing water.

"(Y/N), someone's knocking on the door," Mangle announced, poking her head into the room.

You glared at Toy Bonnie. "You got away this time."

Toy Bonnie hopped out of the bathtub as you turned off the water. He shook his feet dry as he wobbled towards the door. You walked past him and turned off the light. When he and Mangle were around the corner, you opened the door and peeked outside. You saw a man standing in the hallway, he was clearly upset.

"Hello sir, can I help you?" you wondered.

"Yes, you can. I'm the manager here, and I've been getting many complaints over the past few days, about the occupants in this room being too loud. Now, I strive to welcome everyone to the hotel, but I can't be having you making my residents unhappy," the man said smugly.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'll try to keep it down," you replied bashfully.

He nodded, and you went to close the door. A foot in the doorway stopped it, and the door was pushed open. The man stuck his head in the room, and his nostrils flared up as he sniffed the air. He squinted over at you, and you scrunched your eyebrows.

"Missy, do you have any pets in here?" he asked through gritted teeth.

"N-no-"

"Because, pets are forbidden in my hotel," the man retorted.

"I-I don't have any pets in here." You gulped.

"We'll just see," the man said, pushing into the room.

"I don't think that's necessary," you mumbled as he glanced into the bathroom; you followed him around the corner.

The man looked over to see Balloon Boy sitting on the couch. "Hello, little one."

"Hi," Balloon Boy replied.

"I told you, I don't have any pets," you told him nervously, looking around for the rest.

The man squinted and scanned the room, when he saw something move on the other side of the bed. "Aha!"

Your heart skipped as the man jumped around the bed. You walked beside him, eyes wide. The man hummed, seeing as there was nothing there. He straightened his back, and faced you. You looked over at him, glancing back beside the bed.

"It seems you were telling the truth. I'll be going now," the man said, heading for the door. "Just know that I am very serious when it comes to the rules of my hotel."

"I understand," you said as you followed him to the door. "Bye, now."

You closed the door behind him, and quickly looked around the room. You glanced in the bathroom and under the kitchen counters, they weren't there. You turned the corner, searching the dresser drawers, under the desk, in the foor rest chest, under the couch—despite the fact that none of them, even Toy Chica, could fit under there—and even in the bedside drawer. There wasn't a place to get underneath the bed, so there was no need checking there. They seemed to have completely disappeared.

You looked over at Balloon Boy. "Where'd they go?" Balloon Boy shrugged, which looked a bit odd considering he was in a baby body, and you sighed.

"We're right here!" a voice, clearly Toy Chica's, exclaimed from behind you.

You looked back to see the rest standing beside the kitchen counter. "Where'd you guys go?"

"We didn't go anywhere," Toy Bonnie chuckled as he ran up and hopped onto the bed.

"Huh?" you blurted, plopping on the bed in defeat.

"We changed from our physical form, into wisps, that way that man couldn't see us," Toy Freddy explained as he jumped on the couch beside Balloon Boy.

"By the way, what were your wisp forms like? Were you guys able to see each other?" you wondered.

"We could see each other, as well as you, Balloon Boy, and that man. But you weren't able to see us," Toy Freddy replied.

"What was that man doing, anyways?" Toy Chica wondered as she tried to climb up the bed sheet.

Mangle lay down beside her, dropping her chin to the floor, and nugded her with her snout. Toy Chica hopped on the top of Mangle's head, and climbed down her back. Mangle stood up, and Toy Chica gripped her fur with her talons. Mangle quickly jumped onto the bed, and looked back to see if Toy Chica was okay. Toy Chica chirped, literally, and spread out her small wings. Mangle giggled, and hopped into your lap. Toy Bonnie's tail flicked jealously, and you blew air through your nose in amusement.

"That was the manager," you finally said. "There were complaints about us being too loud."

"I don't blame 'em, you guys are loud," Toy Freddy grumbled, folding his arms over the other and resting his head on them.

"Will we have to move?" Mangle worried.

"Not because of the noise, the manager gave me another chance. This place is, apparently, strictly 'forbidden' to pets," you sneered.

"We're not pets," Toy Bonnie sassed.

"You're animals, for now. Basically the same thing," you brushed him off.

"Where are we going to move to, if we do?" Mangle wondered.

"Will it have a pool?" Toy Chica gushed.

"I don't know, but I'll make sure the place we stay at has a pool, and is pet friendly," you mused.

Toy Chica jumped up for joy, making Mangle hiss and glare back at her. "Careful."

"Mm," Toy Chica hummed timidly.

Mangle eyes softened. "I didn't mean to snap. Your nails are just sharp."

"Sorry," Toy Chica whispered.

Mangle smiled and gently nudged Toy Chica with her snout. Toy Chica giggled, and hopped on her head. Mangle raised her head in surprise, causing Toy Chica to bounce. She chuckled, and looked up at you.

"When are we leaving?" Mangle inquired.

"Tomorrow. I have to pack," you muttered.

"We can help you!" Toy Bonnie offered as he bounced in excitement.

"Okay, how about you guys start off by taking down the tree," you suggested, gesturing to the small Christmas tree that still stood beside the dresser.

"Mmm, nah. We can pack your clothing for you!" he declared enthusiastically.

You sighed, "Thought so."

You tried to fold the branches of the tree up, but they weren't cooperating. You grunted, and shoved the pieces in their box upside down. You slid the box away, not even attempting to close it. You had already stuffed the garland in the bottom of the box, and the ornaments were in their boxes, on the kitchen counter.

"Ta-da!" Toy Bonnie bragged, gesturing to your suitcase.

You pushed yourself up, and walked over to the bed, where your clothes were once strewn over. You looked into your luggage, one side had neatly folded clothing—not taking up much room—while the other side had clothes balled up—trying their best to take up the least amount of space. You clearly knew which side was whose.

"Good enough. I'll go get the rest of my stuff," you said, clasping your hands together.

You zipped up the bag, and pulled it off the bed. You dragged it into the bathroom, where you planned to put your hygienic products in it. You unzipped the front pocket and laid it on the floor. You opened the medicine cabinet, and grabbed things off the shelves, dropping them over into your bag.

"Hello," you heard Balloon Boy say.

You glanced over to see him standing in the doorway. "Hey, Balloon Boy."

"Hi."

You paused. "Um, hiya?"

Balloon Boy reached under his hat and pulled something out. He reached it up to you, holding a folded piece of paper. You carefully grabbed it, glanced up at him, and then opened it. There was a messy drawing on it, but it was clearly Foxy the Pirate. You looked back up at Balloon Boy, to see his lip stuck out in a pitiful looking frown.

"I know you miss him, kid. You know, I did mean what I said about going to visit him when the pizzeria opens. I'll make sure you're the first person to enter those doors," you assured him.

Balloon Boy smiled and giggled. You grinned, and took the rest of the things out of the medicine cabinet. He left around the corner, and you finished putting things back in your bag. You put up the towels, washcloths, and soaps—after making sure to dry them off. There was a small pile of dirty clothes, towels, and washcloths, in the corner. You could put those through the washer and dryer that the hotel had on premises—at least you hoped that they had them.

You zipped it up, and dragged your suitcase back into the "living room." In there, you saw Mangle with her head in the bench, attempting to grab your laptop charger—you had moved all the cords in the bench to save space—with her teeth, Toy Bonnie seeming to be trying to maneuver your Nintendo 3DS off the edge of the desk, where Toy Chica stood, looking up at him, and Toy Freddy asleep on the couch, next to Balloon Boy.

"Give it to me, I got it!" Toy Chica boasted, holding out her wings to catch it.

"I'm trying, it keeps twisting around," Toy Bonnie growled.

"What are you guys doing?" you yelped, and they looked up at you.

"We're helping you gather your electronics," Mangle replied.

"Yeah!" Toy Chica cheered.

"Mangle, you don't bite the cords, you'll break them," you said, pulling them out of the bench; they had tangled up, so they were just a big mass.

"Sorry," she mumbled almost inaudibly.

"And Toys-" you paused as you looked at Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica. "Do I even have to explain?"

You sighed, and grabbed your 3DS off the desk. Toy Bonnie attempted to nip at you, and you quickly drew your hand back, shooting him daggers. Toy Bonnie shrunk, and quickly hopped into the chair and on the floor.

(Authors Note) Holy crap, this chapter is 1000 words short of my usual chapters, sorry. I didn't really have an idea of what all should go on in this chapter. I've been losing interest in writing the story, lately, but I'll try to keep working hard on it for you guys.
