Top hat demons info dump (The 90's Kids)

(Warning, there's enough information to kill someone here, skip if you're just here for the art xD. The adult's name is Jerry, the little one can be Hannah. This is just a basic and cruddy reference sheet for the top hat demons.)

Name of race:Tapakati (otherwise incorrectly known as top hat demons by the other races, a malicious term that was slowly molded onto them by the ITS)

Geographical location: Their home planet is Planet Tearurtra, a small purple savanna planet that has many mountains, cliff sides and waterfalls, inside is one of them deep down in a limestone cave is the Tapakati kingdom. Tearurtra had just one super continent, otherwise the planet was mostly ocean. While all of the tapakati are born and native here, before their destruction and the turning of hatred they sometimes visited the other planets, although it was illegal for them to live anywhere else due to the distrust in their species. Ten years from current date, Tearurtra was completely wiped from the map by some unknown means, seemingly destroying all the demons with it.

Unknown by the other races, what's left of their population are currently enslaved on the ITS's ship, with the exception of Thomas and Echo being free on Pipra.

Common physical attributes:

Tapakati are bipedal beings that are typically no bigger then an adult human when fully grown, they are humanoid with more animal leg feet with three toes, these feet have pads on the bottom and their five fingers are pointed and have claws. They are covered in fur that comes in shades of dark forest green, coal, dark purple, dark grey blue, dark brown, and rarely a lighter shade of soft grey, under their fur is dark black skin. This is with the exception of their legs, which are usually a peach or brown coloured and covered with a fuzz. They always have a long smoke like tail that is usually a shade lighter than their fur. On their face they have two eye spots where human eyes normally are, these aren't actual eyes and solely function as a means to communicate emotions to others, their nose is small and just above their eye, which shares a similar appearance to a mouth. All three of these can blink.

Eye colour is rather significant in their species, eye colour can be anywhere from red to purple and is divided into two categories: primary and secondary. Those with red, blue or yellow eyes are significantly stronger then those with green, orange or purple. There are cases of having two different coloured eye spots, this however doesn't seem to make powers stronger or weaker. Their head is adored with four horns, which are typically silver, copper or golden in colour and appear rather metallic, the two bottom horns are usually smaller than the top two, but this isn't always the case and it can rarely be the opposite. On their chest is their mouth, which is usually unseen due to their thicker chest fur, they have long purple or blue tongues used to grab their food, when hungry their tongues will light up the same colour as their eyes. Usually they don't wear any clothes due to not needing to, but wearing bracelets, hats, rings in their horns, or really anything that doesn't cover their mouth or make it difficult to move isn't unheard of.

Ideology:

Tapakati are a pacifist race and do not enjoy engaging in combat, they value beauty and happiness which is exactly what they had in their kingdom. The only time they used their powers in a harmful way was to protect themselves from the predators that roamed the surface or to catch food. Using their powers for malevolent reasons is met with extreme criticism and disapproval and is seen as extremely shameful within their society. They are spiritual and have connections to things like their homes and value greatly what is given to them, they live on the belief that it is better to give then to take. Gender isn't really a trait that effects their choices or their values within their population, as far as they are concerned everyone is equal and can have equal rights and opportunities regardless their gender, and really spare reproductive roles there is no difference between a male or female tapakati.

When they were enslaved by the ITS, those forced to fight as part of the experiments refused to do so until they were practically driven insane, an example being Echo, another exception to their pacifist nature is Thomas who is forced to be a killer to save the Kids from the IT.

Powers:

Tapakati are known to be extremely powerful beings, however which powers they have depend on two things: their eye colour and if they have a tailbond.

All demons have the basic powers of telekinesis, teleportation, levitation, and limited control over the reality around them. They can enchant objects (an example being Thomas's triangle puppets) and clairvoyance.

Powers limited to Primaries: conjunction, precognition, psychometry.

Powers granted by the tailbond: telepathy, chronokinesis (time alteration, ability to stop time) as well as just stronger previous powers.

No matter how strong an individual, reality controlling and any forcible abilities don't work on other demons. They can also 'hear' commands of others in the back of their minds, and this can easily be ignored. Reality warping cannot be done for ever no matter how powerful the tapakati, a good comparison to make is a screw that will always eventually come undone, it also has a certain range and limits.

Lifestyle:

Tapakati are omnivorous and get their food via hunting and gathering, and they are experiencing in farming though on Tearurtra it is rather hard due to the harsh climates. Still, since the entire population shares and works together, starvation and lack of resources is never a problem for them. Private ownership is a foreign concept to them, even their 'houses' are known as sleep chambers are shared by everyone. Sleep chambers are homes built high up above the river that runs through the kingdom and overlook everything. They contain the necessaries for comfortable living and are usually just meant for having a nice place to relax in peace and sleep. Nobody really owns a specific one, and it's simply whoever gets there first, all of them are same and it's simply an unspoken rule to leave the chamber as you found it.

While they may share everything and all have equal rights, there are a few demons that get special leadership rights and are tasked with ensuring this balance stays, they are usually the oldest members of the population.

Tailbonds are an unusual species also native to Tearurtra, and lack physical bodies which makes it very hard for them to travel and absorb their main source of nourishment: kinetic energy. They are known to grant a tapakati powers should the tapakati become a host for one. This is a symbiotic relationship, while the demon gets extra powers and a companion, the tailbond gets mobility and therefore more food. Pairs are usually life long commitments though a tailbond can be expelled and or passed to another demon, and when a tapakati turns fifteen they are able to get their tailbond, any sooner will likely grant the tapakati powers they can't control and thus is dangerous. To lose this tailbond is an extremely painful blow to the tapakati host, and is comparable to losing a family member.

Parents work together to raise their children, while older siblings learn the skills necessary to raise children by helping raise little siblings, typically tapakati have four or more children. School is done in a group, where all the young demons are taught together how to read, write (these two are very important to them) control their powers and how to preform important tasks that will be one day used to benefit the community.

Usually a tapakati is considered independent at the age of fifteen, and from there don't need to stay with their parents, this is also when they can start making their own choices.

Family:

Family is very important to them, overall the community due to the fact that everything is shared is extremely tightly knitted together. Parents usually keep their children with them until they are at least fifteen, and even after such usually still sleep in the same sleep chambers and interact daily. Sibling relationships are perhaps the strongest kind of relationship within the community, older siblings are known to abandon their pacifist ways on a dime to protect their younger siblings.

When it comes to leadership, an elite group of the oldest, strongest and most intelligent tapakati are selected by popular opinion to help assure the community stays stable. They are in charge of assigning jobs, monitoring food and safety of the kingdom, writing records and history documents, assuring things are running smoothly, and more. Within this group, which contains both male and females, they work together to solve problems and make decisions, and will only go through with an unanimous decision. They are also the ones that will deal punishment to those who step out of line.
