The main setting of An Odd One's Theory is in Kapatin, a village that's home to the Kappai people (humanoids that sometimes possess magical abilities, for unknown reasons the likelihood of a child being born with powers has significantly decreased over the years). There is a bit of a hierarchy within the small population, with the mayor (Doran Asher, who is not at all a fan of Mytyo and his apprentices) being in charge of most things. He rules with a democracy system which allows the villagers to vote and he deems himself to be pretty fair, while he is he's rather stubborn and refuses to help anyone other than his own. The hunters are second in line and are viewed as the 'knights' of Kapatin. They are an elite force responsible for bringing in meat and fish for the villagers to eat, as well as protecting the town and any merchants from monsters (mainly wolves in this area). They are lead by a mysterious and talented man named Arckine who is well known for his master archery skills. The hunters reside in a cave just outside the town's walls which holds their fort and base of operation. They are the few Kappeans that can actually fight. 

The school, known as the School of Magic is reserved for very few (most of the children are homeschooled) is run by a strict and crabby teacher named Mrs Ryia who is one of the few actually able to use magic, she wields powerful fire and water magic. The school was later set of fire by a distressed Cabica who had zero control over her powers, resulting in her being permanently expelled. Ryia was able to put out the fire and soon after the school was rebuilt. 

Their Keeper (a Demi god/goddess like spirt, one resides on each island of Oulea) was Veritas, who unfortunately was killed attempting to escape the overlord through a portal that brought her to earth where she quickly vanished to dust after being touched by an earthen boy. This allowed the evil race of Akumas to invade the island, and the only ones able to stop them is one edgy veteran alcoholic and the only other surviving member of his kind Cabica. Such is less then amusing to Doran.
