About Kapatin:

Kapatin is a small town located on the far south end of the twelfth island, most of the town (at least 80%) is located underground in a series of old mine tunnels repurposed and rebuilt to be homes and houses. There was an old Kapatin above ground at one point, located a few kilometres north from the current location, though when a rimor attacked two hundred years ago the people were forced underground to hide. Mytyo noticed that the beast was there in the nick of time and killed it, thus saving all the townspeople. The Kapatians continued to live underground for the most part, only surfacing for sunlight and food. It was two hundred years later when they decided that it was once again safe enough to resurface, and thus the current mayor Doran Ashler built himself and most of his family members houses above ground, along with shops, a inn and a school. Most of the village is still underground though, and nobody is upset about that given they aren't trapped underground. Nowadays Kapatin has since reunited with the rest of towns on the twelfth island and is well known for trading ores and fish.

The old Kapatin's land has been reduced to a sandy desert, with the old castle (known as the iron castle) being all that survived. The Hunters regularly cross it to get to the other side of the desert, to where the mountains and forests begin again.
