A Unique Birthday

(Jaimie's POV:)

I stood outside on my balcony trying to get some fresh air. I relaxed for a second. Although something felt wrong, but I couldn't find out what this feeling was. I guess i'm just anxious. There are a lot of people here. I turned around looking back inside to see all of my friends laughing and telling each other stupid yet funny jokes. Holy hell, were we one interesting friend group. We all had different interests. But we still are there for eachother. I turned around facing forward again. I looked at the sky. The relaxing blue color was calming, and the atmosphere around me was clear, helping me relax. God, why am I so anxious about this? They're my friends. We're bound to screw something up. And when we did it wouldn't be so bad, right?

"Hey Jaimie." A familiar voice crept up behind me. I turned around to see who it was. I looked up to see a girl with black hair and emerald green eyes. Gene. Gene is my best friend,we met a couple years ago in a music class. She could give off the wrong impression, but once you get to know her she is sweet and caring. And she will always be there for you. I smiled, looking at her. "Hey, having a nice time?" I asked. She smiled back at me. "It's great. I have been talking to more people a little more than usual. Oh wait, I have something for you." She handed be a small box. "Happy Birthday, Jaimie." She had a calm smile. I looked down at the box. It was small and the colors where monochrome, black and white. I opened it gently, removing the small piece of tissue paper covering something. It was a bracelet. As soon as I saw it,I smiled and hugged her. "Thank you so much,Gene! It's beautiful!" Gene hugged me back. "Your welcome,Jaim." She smiled and laughed a bit. She was happy to see that I was happy. I looked back down at the bracelet, and put it on. It was a silver bracelet with a charm on it. I looked at the charm and read it. It had my initials, J.W. "My dad knows a guy that customizes jewelry, and I asked him if he could put your initials on it." I looked at her, amazed. "Wow,I never knew that. Wasn't this hard to do?" I asked her. Gene smiled. "Nope! It took him only like thirty minutes to do it. No biggy at all." I smiled at her. "Thank you,Jaimie." I hugged her once again. "Wanna go inside?" She asked. I think I had enough time to relax. "Alrighty, sure." I said as we both walked back inside. I looked around the living room. "Hey, Jaimie!" I heard over the music playing. It was Mary. Mary was sweet and kind. She's a brunette and has a pretty pair of dark hazel eyes. Her voice was quiet and calm. She is usually a pushover at school, and I felt bad for her because of that. She was such a nice girl.. why does my school have to have insufferable pricks around every corner? I smiled at her. "Hey Mary, how are you?" I asked. I could tell in her eyes that she was glad that I cared for her. And I know at any chance she got to return the favor she would. "Oh and Marshy is here too." She stated,as the front door opened. "Hey Jaimie!" He said coming in. Marshall, although we call him Marshy, walked up to me and Mary. "Hey Marshy. How are you?" I smiled, welcoming him. He smiled back. "Mary and I have a present for you." He said,as he started taking me away into the kitchen. It was somewhat quiet in there. "Wait here." He said smiling. I stood there, waiting. Just like he said. Marshy walked backed into the kitchen with a medium sized box. It was was like a neon green type of color. "Happy Birthday, Jaimie Winters!" He said as he handed me the box. I opened it, and I smiled immediatley. It was a gray sweatshirt. I got cold very easily, and all of my sweatshirts were too heavy for chilly summer nights. But it was a zip up hoodie. I tried it on,it fitting perfectly. It was so comfy. It always got chilly around and in the area I lived,so this was thoughtful. And it wasn't like a winter hoodie. It was for any season. I looked up at him. "Thank you,Marshy!" I hugged him. He hugged me back. Marshy was also one of the really close friends of mine inside of our friend group. We always got along, and he's very protective. He's more like a big brother to me than a best friend. "Do you like it?"

He asked me. I smiled, and nodded. "I love it,thank you." I smiled once more at him, and went to go see Mary.

I walked outside of the kitchen, scanning the living room filled with friends that were laughing and just having a good time. I guess this relieved my unnecessary anxiety. I felt relieved. I suddenly spotted Mary, and started to make my way over to her. Once I got closer, her calm smile re-appeared on her face. "I see Marshall gave you your gift. Do you like it?" I looked into her eyes. There was hope and happiness. She was happy for me. Mary knows I haven't held or even been to a party in ages,so she was just happy that I was happy too. Mary is very sweet, but threaten any of her friends and you'll be heavily, heavily sorry. "Yes. I love it! Thank you,Mary." I said, hugging her too. "See? Me and Marsh can work together to help someone else!" She laughed. Mary and Marshall are probably the only pair of siblings I've seen actually get along and never fight. I thought it was cute how they both respected each other. "Oh,one sec." I started to hear a ringing sound. "My phones ringing." Mary said, dashing off to answer. Probably her dad. Her dad trusted me but he was sorta over protective. Probably just checking in. Anyways, it's not my business.

I looked around the room. All of the people were here and happy. I was glad to see that. I scanned all of them. Mordecai, the main insufferable douche of the group. Sure, he could be annoying like that sometimes but he was still nice. Sure,he can have very bold opinions sometimes and may flirt with a lot of people, but he gets along with everyone somehow so that's why he's here even if he did have a stupid dyed red streak in his hair. Then there's Ruben, he's like a giant compared to me. His height is around 6'1, and i'm 5'5. It might not look like a huge difference but god, it sure does feel like it. Ruben had glasses, that were white as snow, when his hair was a dark-ish brown. He may be skinny but he can hurt someone if he needed to. Hopefully he doesn't have to. Then there's sweet little Tyler. Mordecai's little Brother. Tyler is probably the exact opposite of Mordecai. The two siblings sometimes have small arguments with each other, totally opposite from Mary and Marshall. But Tyler was the youngest out of all of us. He is thirteen, and had dirty blonde hair. But he hung out with us not just because he was Cai's little brother, it was because he was kind and caring to almost everyone. Then there's Morgan. Miss Salt-of-the-world. Morgan can be real nasty, and she's basically the main bitch out of all of us. I probably have never met anyone who could be this salty. But she had a soft side. A teenie, tiny soft side. Even though she said, and acted like she could give two shits, we all were her friends. We'd tease her about her small little weak side. But I thought it was cute. Because that small, little weak side, was a girl who liked us as friends. And there is no doubt in my mind about that. Then there's Bryce... bryce is friendly, just maybe a tiny bit too friendly. He can be loud, but others seem to treat him like a third wheel. I don't know exactly why,but I have a really good idea on what it is..

Right next to Bryce was Mason. Mason was cool in my book, but he's very eccentric..maybe even a bit bizarre. Mason, surley was gay. He even told us he was. But we are all respecting when it comes to things like that. But he is very wild, yet funny. he had brown hair and hazel eyes. He wasn't that much taller than me,considering he was 5'9 when i'm 5'5. But he sure was one hell of a character. I looked over to the mini couch, seeing Kiera sit there, talking to Kate. Kiera is really good friends with Kate. Her hair was really blonde and short. She had cute little glasses, and dark blue eyes. She can kinda be shy around people she doesn't know. She kind of reminds me of Gene sometimes. Then there was Kiera's good friend Kate. Kate is very creative, and acts mature. She's very modest and sometimes a bit stubborn, but she was understanding if anyone needed help. Her hair was a raven black, that was short like Kiera's, but not as short. She also wore glasses, but they were more mature. Kate is really nice to us,even though she'll have to tell us sometimes to stop acting like a child. Especially towards Bryce. A bit of color caught the corner of my eye. It was Finny's cute red hair. Finny had some freckles, and a cute little pair of hazel eyes. She is super perky and creative. She was a really sweet girl to have as a friend. Because she helped out anyone who needed it. Next to her,was Jake. They seemed to be talking. Jake had black-brownish hair and green eyes. He was almost my height, and a total nerd. He can be absent-minded sometimes, but he's really protective of his friends.

After dancing around for a good 3 hours,we were all tired. We all headed to my room, where all they're sleeping bags were set up. I was surprised how we fit all of these in here. We all fell asleep around 11:45. I woke to a sound. A sound of someone getting up out of their bed. I opened my eyes, and looked around. I turned my head swiftly to the clock. It was 3:45 in the morning. I looked forward again to see Mary sitting up. "Oh, Jaimie." She whispered. "Sorry if I woke you..I heard a noise." She said. I looked at her, curious. "What kind of noise?" I asked, sitting up as well. "I don't know." Mary said looking over at the door. "But it wasn't a good noise.."
