19.

Artemis yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. "Who is that man?" She asked sleepily, sitting on the edge of the bed, watching as he pulled on a shirt, his back currently to her.

Sol turned around to face her and pursed his lips. How was he supposed to explain it to her?

Her eyebrows creased thoughtfully as she thought, piping in and disturbing his line of thought. "I've seen him before."

"You have?" Sol asked warily, already having heard this from Apollo earlier.

Artemis nodded. "I saw him today, at work. He was acting a little strange but I didn't think much of it." She told him. "What is he doing here now though?"

Sol sighed and walked up to Artemis, leaning down on the ground between her legs. He placed his arms on either side of her waist as she sat on the bed, his left hand placed on the skin that was revealed from the bottom of her shirt, or his shirt that she had borrowed for the night. His thumb stroked circles on her soft skin slowly, attempting to calm her down as he noticed her becoming more and more agitated as time passed.

Artemis sighed and frowned, lost deep in thought.

He watched her, feeling absolutely helpless. There wasn't anything he could do other than support her and make her feel as comfortable as she can.

Artemis was a smart wolf. Sol was sure that she had already started to connect all the dots together.

Noticing the look of discomfort on her face, Sol pushed himself back and sat on the ground, crossing his legs. He opened up his palm and raised his hand to her, willing her to take it. Her hand was soft and small in comparison to his, complete opposites.

She squeezed his hand softly as she allowed him to pull her onto the ground with him, pulling her into his lap. Artemis sat on his lap sideways and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in the crook between his neck and his shoulder, taking comfort in breathing in his scent.

Sol was quick to wrap his arms around her, encaging her in his warmth. He pressed his lips against her temple, pulling her closer to him. "I've got you," he whispered the promise against her skin.

Artemis nodded and after a few moments loosened her grip a little. Instead, she buried her face in his chest, her hands now wrapped around his waist. Sol made no move to loosen his grip or to let her go.

She clutched his shirt. "He looks just like me." She told him, voicing what they were both thinking. "Is he my brother?"

It seemed that Sol wouldn't have to break the news to her himself. Nodding his head, he pushed up the back of her shirt a little and rested his large, calloused hand against the soft skin of her back, rubbing his hand up and down slowly, reassuringly.

"He is," he whispered into her hair. "His name is Apollo." Sol informed her, his voice quiet and gentle, treading carefully. He knew that this was a lot to take in, especially for Artemis whom didn't have any memories nor could recollect anything about her past.

All she knew was him.

Artemis pulled back slightly at the new-found information, her eyes wide as she looked up at his face with unshed tears glistening in her eyes.

"Apollo?"

Sol reached forward and wiped away a stray tear, leaning forward to place his lips against her forward. "Yes, Apollo." He whispered, pulling back slightly so he could maintain eye contact.

"That's why I remembered his name at the doctor's office." It was more of a question than a statement, waiting for his confirmation.

"Yes, I think so." Sol agreed.

His hand remained on her back, still rubbing it gently in a comforting manner.

Artemis frowned deeper and leaned forward to bury her face back into his chest, nuzzling his face there as if she could hide from everything there.

"Why is he here?" She asked.

"I found him waiting outside when I left to go for my run." He admitted, leaving out the part where they had fought.

Artemis clenched her fist in his shirt, tugging him closer to her. "I saw him at work today, before I came to you for lunch."

"I know." She had mentioned it earlier.

Sol could feel a few tears soak his shirt but he didn't mind, not in the least. "I didn't recognise him." She muttered softly, her voice quiet and meek, so unlike her. This was clearly affecting her more than he had thought. "I didn't know that he was my brother. I just thought he was strange for staring."

He just nodded and continued to rub her back, allowing her to think quietly.

He didn't want to rush her.

"What did I do?" She asked him quietly.

Sol looked down at her. She looked so small in his arms, curled up into a ball as he held her. "Whatever you want to do."

"But I don't know what I want."

Sol stayed quiet, allowing her time to think. He knew what she should do, what would probably be best for her and would help her heal. However, this was not about him, this was about her. This was her decision and whatever she decided, Sol would support her no matter what.

"He's still downstairs." Sol stated it as a fact, not really asking him.

Artemis squeezed her arms around him tighter for a brief moment, almost as if she was reassuring himself that he was still there, before pushing him away from him and standing up. She let her hand rest in the space between them, waiting for him to take it. When he did, she pulled him up to his feet, or rather he let her believe that she had pulled him up from the ground.

"You should probably take him some clothes before I go down there." Artemis told him softly, already sifting through some of his clothes in the wardrobe. "I don't want to see my brother naked." She admitted.

Sol couldn't help but smile and shake his head, standing behind her, watching her.

This would be good for her, to find out what her life was like before she had lost all her memories, before he had stumbled across her wolf in the forest.

However, there was a part of him that was scared. Scared of losing her forever, scared that she would get attached to her brother and want to move back with him to her old pack, leaving him alone.

Pushing all his fears and apprehensions to the side, he focused on her.

This was about her, not him; this was about what she needed to heal for he knew that despite all the smiles and bubbly nature, Artemis was hurting inside and there hadn't been anything Sol could have done to take the pain away.

Perhaps that would change now that her brother was waiting for her downstairs.

"Take these down to him." She pushed some clothes into his arms, one of shirts and pj bottoms by the looks of things. "I'll be down in a few minutes."

Sol nodded. Reaching forward, he cupped her face and caressed the skin of her cheek with his thumb, lifting her face up towards his. "You going to be okay?"

She offered him a small smile and nodded slightly, the gesture so minute and barely there that he was sure he would have missed it if he were to even blink.

Leaning forward, he closed his eyes and nuzzled his nose against hers, just enjoying the moment before he had to head downstairs and face her naked brother.

"I'll see you in a few minutes then." He smiled before heading out the room and down the stairs.

Apollo was stood awkwardly in the living room, his hands clasped together in front of his nether regions, clearly uncomfortable with having to stand in a stranger's living room naked for such a long period of time.

But Sol didn't care. Artemis was first priority.

Always.

"I brought you some clothes." He muttered under his breath quietly, placing the clothes down on the coffee table. Apollo nodded his head gratefully and reached for the bottoms first, releasing a sigh of relief.

Sol looked around the room and rubbed the back of his head. He wasn't used to being around other wolves. Artemis, Clark's family and even Clark's Alpha was just about werewolf interaction he could manage so having this stranger – even if he did appear to be Artemis' brother - was unknown territory to him.

"She'll be down in a minute." He informed the other man before taking a seat on the sofa, letting himself sink into the rich leather.

Apollo nodded again and sat on the sofa opposite him. "She really doesn't remember me?"

"No," Sol shook his head. "She couldn't remember anything when I found her."

Apollo's eyebrows raised up in questioning at that. "When did you find her?"

"I found her a couple of months ago, lying unconscious in the middle of the forest." Sol opened his mouth to ask Apollo a question in return, but he sensed Artemis hesitating at the top of the stairs.

He smiled and looked down at the ground.

Apollo must have sensed it too as his eyes were glued on the stairs, waiting to get another look at his sister.

He wondered which sibling was more nervous, Apollo or Artemis?

When Artemis didn't seem to be coming down the stairs anymore, Sol stood up and walked to the bottom of them, peering up to find Artemis at on the top stair, her head buried in her hands. "Artemis?" He called out to her.

Artemis raised her head to found Solomon waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs.

She wanted to talk to her brother and find out more about both him and herself but she was nervous and scared. An hour ago, she was just Artemis with no surname living with Sol, a fellow werewolf who had found her injured in the forest before taking her in under his paw and now, she was a sister to someone and most likely a daughter to a set of parents. For all she knew she belong to some pack as well!

Artemis wasn't ready but when Sol held out a hand expectantly, silently urging her to walk down the stairs with his eyes, no verbal communication needed she found herself standing up and walking down the stairs cautiously.

She found herself releasing a sigh of relief as she got to the bottom and placed her hand in his, still looking into his eyes.

Sol's lips curved up into a teasing smile as he squeezed her hang gently before pulling her in for a brief yet comforting hug. He smiled wider when she wrapped herself around him and squeezed him back gently, her arms laced around his waist.

"You can do this." He whispered into her hair as he held her. "I know you can." He urged her, knowing what a big deal this was to her.

Artemis nodded and pulled away from him.

She took another big breath of air in, inhale, exhale before she turned around and faced the familiar man waiting for her in the living room, in Sol's living room.

This man had red hair and grey eyes just like hers. She had met him in the coffee shop earlier that day and thought him to be strange for staring at her, not realising that he was in fact her brother, or her non-identical twin as Sol had briefly mentioned when she was on the verge of a panic attack earlier upstairs.

"Hi," she offered him a polite greeting.

Apollo nodded and smiled, his lips stretched wide, showing off all his perfect white teeth. "Hi." He breathed, far cheerier than her. "I'm Apollo, or Lo as you used to call me when we were younger."

Artemis nodded. "I'm Artemis."

Apollo nodded and smiled. "I know."

Sol ushered them both into the living room. Apollo sat on the sofa chair he was sitting on earlier while Artemis and Sol sat across from him.

"You're my twin." Artemis stated the fact though it came out as more of a question.

Her twin nodded in confirmation. "We're non-identical twins though most people didn't seem to guess that since we look so alike." He chucked to himself, his eyes not once wavering away from his sister. "We're twenty-one, born on August the twenty-first nineteen ninety-seven."

His sister nodded. "I'm assuming you're the older sibling."

"By two minutes and twenty-seven seconds." He smiled. "I used to bring it up whenever I could when we were little."

Artemis couldn't help but smile. She watched as Apollo's eyes glazed over, how he seemed so moved as to be speaking to her right now.

She bit down on her bottom lip, nervous to ask the next question but she needed to know, for her own peace of mind. She had never thought about it too much since she had assumed that she would never find out, but now that her brother, her twin was right in front of her, she would finally find out.

"What happened to me?" Her voice was quiet and gentle, too low to be heard by ordinary human ears, but none of them in that living room were human.

Apollo swallowed what seemed to be a theoretical grape stuck in his throat. He could feel himself tearing up a little, but he didn't want to scare off his sister, especially after having just found her.

"There was a rogue attack when we were younger. We were both five at the time. After that we couldn't find you. Your scent seemed to have disappeared and we couldn't find you anywhere." He paused, his voice cracking on the last few words. "We thought you were dead." He started choking up, physical tears falling down his face.

Sol looked down at Artemis who was also crying into her hands as she listened to her brother's painfilled words.

This was hard to watch.

"We even had a funeral for you.

Artemis stood up abruptly, Sol's hand that was rubbing her arm now falling to his side. He watched as she crossed the room and walked into her brother's arms.

The twins cried for all the time lost and the pain they had both endured.
