"Sol?" Artemis called out, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she stared at the sheet of paper on the table in front of her, clutching a black pen in her hand, chewing on the end of it as she thought.

It was a bad habit.

His head jerked up from the dishes he was currently washing as she called out for him. Quirking a questioning eyebrow in her direction, he turned off the water after having washed his hands. Drying his hands on a cloth, he made his way over to Artemis.

He'll finish the dishes later.

Standing behind her, he peered over her head at the sheet she was working on.

"I don't know where I've gone wrong but this doesn't quite sound right." Artemis admitted, running a hand over the side of her face as she leant back in her chair, still staring at the paper, her eyes fleeting over the paragraph she had just finished writing, not too happy with the wording of the last couple of sentences.

Artemis was getting better at this. It took a few moments longer than usual for Sol to spot the mistake.

Placing the cloth on the table, he pulled out a chair and sat next to her, sliding the pen from out of her hand so that he could circle where she had slipped up.

Her eyes followed every movement of his hand, eager to learn from her mistakes.

Her eyes lit up in realisation before Sol could even correct her mistakes; it seemed that just pointing it out was enough this time.

Artemis smiled in gratitude. "Thanks," she muttered, her mind already back on the sheet in front of her as she worked to fix the mistake she had made before moving onto work on the next paragraph.

Sol wasn't a teacher and so he had swung by the local human high school in town while Artemis was at work one day to grab her some worksheets from the English teacher. Thank fully the man was more than happy and to lend him a copy of a few of the sheets and tasks that he had been working on with his senior class throughout the year so far.

He had also recommended a few books that would help with Artemis' vocabulary. She was already half way through the second book.

The English teacher had also agreed to look at Artemis' work for a small fee. And so, Sol had left with the promise of returning the following week with all the work complete. Hopefully there would be some more for Artemis to do.

She enjoyed learning, and he wasn't about to deprive her of basic education, especially not if she wanted it.

Sol was determined to give her the best life he could possibly give her for as long as she wanted it.

Grabbing the tea towel and heading back to the kitchen to place it back in its rightful position, Sol looked over his shoulder. "I'm going to go for a run. I feel a little restless."

When Artemis didn't acknowledge him, he wondered if she was even paying attention. "I'm going to go for a run." He informed her again, this time tapping the table she was working on to get her attention.

Artemis looked up from the paper she was working on, rubbing her eyes while still holding the black pen. She turned her head to look out the window briefly. "At this time of night?" She asked, frowning slightly, not too keen on the idea on him venturing through the woods a little before midnight.

"I know," he nodded. "But my wolf needs to be let out."

Artemis nods and smiles. "Just be careful."

Sol chuckles and was already half way across the room, nearly to the front door. "I'm a werewolf. Don't worry about me."

His hand on the door knob, he looks up briefly before turning back to face her. She had dropped the pen now and was just watching him leave, still worrying even though he had attempted to assure her.

Sol's lips curved up at the edges.

"I should be back in less than an hour." He informed her, still smiling softly.

Artemis nodded. "I just have a little bit left to do," she gestured towards the papers on the table. "I'll probably head up for a shower and then head to bed."

"I'll see you then." He smiled.

She smiled and nodded, repeating his words. "I'll see you then."

Sol turned the door knob and headed out into the dark night, making sure to close the front door behind him. He couldn't risk a wild animal getting into the cabin and possibly harming Artemis just because he was too careless to make sure the door was closed, especially this late at night. Now, he was fully aware that Artemis was a werewolf herself and would be able to defend and protect herself absolutely perfectly, but he didn't want to take any unnecessary risks when it came to her; especially not if there was something that he could have done to prevent it.

Sol stood outside the front door, facing the forest, staring into it, not exactly sure what he was looking for.

Gripping the bottom of his shirt, Sol pulled it up over his body before placing it on the floor next to his feet on the porch. He kicked off his shoes and yanked at his belt, untangling it from around his waist.

He placed a hand on his zipper as he worked to get his socks off with his feet, but stilled.

His head snapped up as he sensed another werewolf nearby. And not nearby as in on the other side of the forest or even taking a path through the forest, but nearby as in just outside the house.

His senses told him that the wolf was stood to the side of the house, on his left.

Now, if he could smell the wolf then he was sure that the wolf would be able to smell him. But it didn't have to know that Sol was onto them.

Sol could keep that little secret to himself for now.

His socks still on his feet, Sol pulled up his zipper and walked down the few steps that lead up to the porch. Walking slowly but with a purpose, he made his way towards the forest, his ears perked.

He had the advantage.

He knew exactly where his prey was and he had the element of surprise. Sure, the wolf would be alert but there was no way that it knew that Sol had sensed him out straight away.

Sol attempted to appear as nonchalant as possible, even speeding up as he got closer to the forest, attempting to look eager to change into his wolf form and go for a run.

This time, there was no time for Sol to pull down his jeans and change. Rather, as soon as he felt that he had gone far enough from the cabin, Sol turned around and sprang into the air, changing into wolf form before his feet even touched the ground.

Just as he expected, his prey – still in human form, a rouge, no doubt – took off running away from the cabin and away from him. But Sol couldn't risk it. The wolf was spying on them for some reason and Sol was determined to find out why and for whom.

Sol snarled as he watched the human shift into wolf form. His movements were jerky and messy, clearly panicking from the chase having not expected to be detected so soon and so easily.

He should have done his research.

Sol was an Alpha.

Pushing harder, he calculated the distance between himself and the rogue before he leaped into the air once again. But this time he didn't land on the ground, he landed on the back of the wolf instead. Sol nipped at his neck, holding it between his teeth.

The wolf struggled beneath him, trying to get out from his hold but he was fighting a losing battle.

There was no way that Sol was going to let him go, especially not now that he had threatened their peace.

Sol was just glad that Artemis hadn't decided to join him for a late-night run.

Sol grunted, biting down harder on the wolf's neck. He growled.

Finally, the wolf seemed to give up as he stopped struggling and lay limp, though his muscles were will tensed.

Sol grunted again and the wolf seemed to finally get the message. The wolf shifted back into his human and so Sol followed simultaneously. His hand was immediately around his neck again, squeezing painfully.

The man grunted and attempted to fight back but Sol was far stronger. There was no competition.

It was an awkward position to be in, restraining another werewolf while they were both naked, but Sol wasn't taking any risks just because he felt uncomfortable. That could cost both Artemis and him their lives.

There was just too much at stake.

The wolf underneath him had his hands wrapped around Sol's arms, trying to get him off. As they both struggled for power, Sol looked down at his face, immediately going into shock as he attempted to register what he was seeing. He blinked once and then twice, his grip still firm, tight and strong as he failed to believe what he was seeing.

"Apollo?" Sol called out, not believing himself. He didn't have much to go on except for the red hair and the grey eyes but for a second there, it felt like he was looking into Artemis' eyes.

He immediately let go, scrambling off the man but making sure to stay very close by in case he tried anything.

Sol wasn't sure if he were to be trusted just yet.

"How do you know my name?"

"Your name is Apollo." Sol repeated again, needing confirmation that he was not going insane.

"Yes," the man nodded, inching away from Solomon, knowing that if he were to reach out and grab him again, he wouldn't remain alive for long. Apollo had no doubt that Sol could end his life in less than a heartbeat. He had felt the power emanating from the man as they both had previously fought.

He had no doubt that this man was an Alpha.

"What are you doing here?"

"I will not ask again!" Sol gritted his teeth, not at all enjoying the defiance. "What are you doing here?" He questioned again already running out of patience.

The man's eyes skittered both left and right, gulping nervously, obviously afraid. Sol didn't blame him. He was more than piping mad at the current moment, but there was no way he would be calming down before he got any answers.

He briefly wondered if Artemis was asleep, tucked away safely in bed.

He growled again, standing up to his feet, the sadist in him enjoying the way the man was sprawled on the floor at his feet.

"I came to see my sister."

"What's your sisters name?"

"Artemis."

"How do you know she's your sister."

"Even you know she's my sister." The man jumped slightly as Sol growled at him, not enjoying the tone of voice he had just used. "We're non-identical twins."

Sol pursed his lips.

He did know that this man was Artemis' brother. He had no doubt about that. It felt weird looking at him for he looked so much like his she-wolf, the obvious differences between them being that one was female and the other male.

The may be non-identical twins but they sure looked just like each other.

"That still doesn't explain why you're here. And at this time of night too."

"I saw her in the town today, working at a Starbucks today. I was standing in front of her, staring at her, and she had no idea who I was." The man admitted, his jaw clenched, clearly hurt. "She didn't even know I was her brother." He scoffed. "I wanted to talk to her."

Sol's eyebrows raised in surprise at that. Artemis hadn't mentioned this.

"What makes you think she'll want to talk to you?"

"I'm her brother."

"According to her she has no family."

"That's a lie."

Sol shook his head. "That's not what I meant." He paused, watching the man. "She has absolutely no memories. Al she could remember was her name and even that was a struggle."

"How could that be?"

"I honestly have no idea." Sol shook his head, unable to offer him any answers.

He sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. And to think that all he wanted to do was go for a quick run before retreating to his bed where he would fall asleep with Artemis in his arms.

This was going to be a long run.

Sol grunted again. "Come with me." He commanded the man, watching impatiently as he watched him get up.

Sol didn't wait for him as he turned around and already headed towards the house. The first thing he would do was get them both some clothes. They may be werewolves and shifting meant that all their clothes were shredded in the process, but that didn't mean that he was a part of a nudist colony.

Sol scooped up his shirt, belt and shoes from the porch before opening the front door, ushering Apollo in. Closing the door behind him, he welcomed the warmth. "Let me go grab you some clothes." He muttered quietly but when he looked up, he saw Artemis stood on the stairs, staring at them both curiously.

"Sol?" She called out, confused. "Why are you both naked?"

Sol threw his head back and groaned, rubbing a hand down his face. This was going to be a long night.
