Chapter 1: System

Izuku felt the bloodlust before the system pinged him.

*WARNING*
Several entities seek to commit non-lethal harm to you. Fend for yourself, or receive a penalty.

Izuku sighed, just as Bakugo grabbed his arm and yanked him into the alleyway.

A few minutes later, and Izuku stepped out of the alleyway, not quite as bruised and beaten as he could have been. Bakugo and his cronies had run away once the first few hits didn't throw him to the ground.

*Experience gained.*

*You Have Leveled Up!*

*Your Stats Have Increased.*

  Izuku smiled.

"Thanks Bakugo.. every time you throw me down I just get stronger..." He muttered to himself.

Izuku waved the system screen away and went home, completing the first part of his daily quest.

*Experience gained.*

*Intelligence Increased.*

*You have received a reward, do you accept?*

  "Accept reward."

*Your statuses have been reset.*

*Health and MP returned to full.*

The bruises disappeared from his body, and even his clothes cleaned themselves up.

Izuku sighed, heading to his room and doing his homework.

*Experience gained.*

*Intelligence Increased.*

It had been this way for ten years, ever since the system first appeared. The first time it happened, Izuku had been at the park with his friends.

*New Quest received!*

*Play a game of Tag. Total victory earns rewards. 75 percent of others caught gives 75 percent of the rewards, and so on.*

Izuku stared at the funny blue square, then shrugged, running after Kacchan and his friends.

*1 entity caught. 3 remain.*

*Experience gained.*

*You have Leveled up!*

Izuku ever so slightly felt faster, and stronger. It was only a tiny amount, but to a four year old it felt like he had super speed. He caught two others until only Katsuki was left.

  *You have Leveled up!*

Izuku just barely caught the now slower blonde, earning surprised looks from the other children.

"Izuku caught Kat!!" They whispered in awe.

Katsuki had never been beaten or caught in the playground.

*Quest complete!*

*You have Leveled up!*

*You have obtained the rewards associated with this quest.*

*3 stat points obtained!*

*New title obtained!*

Izuku was staring at the blue square when they got home.

  "Mummy? What's a S-T-A-T point?" He asked.

Inko looked at her son, confusion clear on her face.

"Stat? It's short for statistic I think." She said.

  "Statistic point?" He asked.

  The blue screen changed again.

  *Izuku: 3*

  *Strength: 4*

  *Intelligence: 4*

  *Agility: 4*

  *Sense: 4*

  *Vitality: 4*

  *Points available: 3*

Izuku read out the words and numbers on the screen to Inko, who was slowly beginning to understand.

"So if I want to be strong like All Might and be a hero, I'll need to put them into Strength?" He asked innocently.

  *Strength has increased by 3!*

Over the years, Izuku had received many quests, all of which he had completed.

*Go to school*

*Excersise at home*

*Run from hostile entities*

*Do homework*

It had all been fairly simple, apart from his 'main quest'.

*Main Quest: Become a Hero.*

*Train for the Ultra Academy entrance exam, and start your journey to the path of a Hero.*

*You will receive rewards associated with the quest.*

When Izuku was 10, he started recieving Keys as rewards, and was able to access the shop in the system.

These keys opened portals to other dimensions, where Izuku could battle monsters and level up at a fast rate. He also received special items, like weapons and armour.

  *Armour*

  *Leather Set.(B)*

  *+20 to all stats.*

  *Weapons*

  *Tough leather gloves.(B)*

  *+10 Strength.

The armour and weapons remained invisible, unless he wanted to show them or if he was using a weapon.

Izuku sighed, lying back on his bed. He glanced over at his status screen.

*Izuku: 89*

*Strength: 169*

*Intelligence: 244*

*Agility: 165*

*Sense: 148*

*Vitality: 157*

*Points available: 6*

*Job: None*

*Title: Fledgling Hero in training*

"All points into Intelligence." He muttered.

Izuku barely registered it when the system pinged him.

He woke up the next morning with the screen in his face, making Izuku pull away.

*Entrance exam imminent. Job quest available.*

*Item available: Key to Undead Halls.*

Izuku shot up, accepting the Key and staring at it.

  *Key to Undead Halls. (A)*

  *Can be used anywhere.*

*Creates gateway to Undead Halls for the Job quest.*

"Hm.. it's Saturday today... But it shouldn't take too long, seeing as the system seems urgent with the 'imminent' entrance exam.." Izuku muttered.

The greenette headed to the living area, greeting his mother.

"Morning mum. I got a new key, it's for a job quest apparently." He said.

Inko looked up, her eyes alight with curiosity.

"You're finally getting a job? It's been.. well, it's been about 10 years since you got the system. Yes, 10 years today actually!" She said.

  Izuku's eyebrows rose.

"Huh. I hadn't even realized. Is it okay if I go do it? I don't think it'll take me that long, a day or two at most." He said.

  Inko nodded.

"I'll get you a lunch ready, you make sure you have everything you need." Inko rose from the sofa.

Izuku smiled, opening his inventory and changing his equipment around.

  *Basic Steel Armour.(A)*

  *+30 to all stats*

  *Spiked steel gauntlets(A+)*

  *+25 strength.*

Izuku kept his leather armour on for the real world, basic protection that wasn't that expensive, whereas he saved his steel armour for the dungeons, saving the durability for the real monsters.

Inko came back with lunch and breakfast, giving both boxes to Izuku.

"Make sure you have your hearthstone, and don't let your guard down! I know you're strong, but the system knows that too, so be careful!" She worried.

  Izuku nodded.

"I'll be okay, I promise I'll use the hearthstone if it gets too much for me."

Inko nodded, following Izuku to his room.

Izuku held up the key, opening a blue portal.

"See you in a bit!" He called, stepping into the Undead Halls.
