After I drop William home, I called a cab to pick me up despite his mum's protest, she insisted that the driver should drop me, but I declined, I didn't want to be a bother.
I pay the taxi driver as I get out of the cab, I take my keys out of my bag and see Tiana walking home with Michael. They look deep in their conversation. They look cute together even if Tiana denies it.
Tiana looks up and sees me standing at on the porch and smiles.
"Hey," I wave as they approach.
"Hey, lil sis." She smiles, she tends to smile a lot when she's around this guy.
"Hi, Michael,"
"Hey, Maria." I wiggle my eyebrows.
"Isn't your house over there?" I ask pointing at his house. He follows my hand to where I'm pointing to and smiles when he turns back, while Tiana shoots daggers.
"Yeah, but it would be rude to let a beautiful girl walk home by herself." He says and Tiana's cheeks turn pink.
"It's barely one mile." I deadpan, but before he could reply Tiana beat him to it.
"Maria, weren't you just going inside?" She asks helping me to unlock the door.
"Yeah, I was but...."
"Thank you, bye!" She pushes me into the house and slams the door at my face.
She didn't even let me say goodbye to Michael.
"Your sister is really something." Michael states as I eavesdrop.
"If by something you mean very annoying, then you're right." Tiana says and I hear him laugh.
Aww! He has such a nice laugh.
I take off my bag and throw it on the couch and made my way to the kitchen to make cereal. I am eating when Tiana walks in.
"What the hell was that?." She asks glaring at me.
"What?." I ask innocently.
"Why were you bombarding him with questions?" She drops her bag on the counter.
"I wanted to see if he liked you." I reply truthfully.
"Well, you made him uncomfortable."
"He didn't show it."
"He doesn't have to..." She takes a bowl from the rack and sits in front of me. "....and why would you think he likes me?"
"He called you pretty." I say and she blushes again.
"He called me beautiful," she corrects and I roll my eyes, "and he was just joking." She says pouting the cereal into her bowl.
"I don't think so. Did you see the way he looked at you when he said that?" I ask after I swallowed and she shrugs. She pours the milk into her bowl and starts eating.
"Are you okay?" She asks after taking 3 spoons, and yes I counted.
"Yes, I am, why?" I ask munching on the cereal.
"You're eating junk." She points out like it's wrong.
"I don't think cereal is classified as junk," I argue.
"It isn't?" She gives me an incredulous look.
"Yes, in fact it says here," I take the carton and start reading out loud, "it contains vitamin A, for sharper eye sight, B2- keep you active, B1- keeps you alert and C- for stronger immunity, you don't get them in every meal you know." I grin proudly and she looks at me like I'm stupid so I let my grin fall. "I'm hungry okay? And I'm too lazy to prepare anything."
"Is Stephanie threatening you?" She asks and my eyes widen.
how the hell did she know that?!.
"Where did you get that idea from?" I ask her in surprise.
"You don't answer questions with question and you were asking daddy about work this morning, which you never do." So she noticed. "Plus, you're not in the competition and I know how hyped up you were when you heard about it." I stare at her when she finished.
"I know Stephanie has always been jealous of you, you've just been oblivious to it, remember those time she used to come over and you'd tell her about a new song you wrote and she'd shut you off," I did not notice that. "I already saw it coming." She says eating her cereal.
"Listen sis, if you're thinking about us, then you should know that we would support you all the way. We are family and that's what families do. Even if we have to sacrifice our happiness for you...."
"I don't want you to do that!" I cry out.
"No. If it's for dad to find a job, leave that to him and mum is supporting him, plus it's not that hard to find a job again, I mean it was 3 years ago. I'm sure things have changed and if it hasn't, we would be okay. I'm sure I'll miss college here, but what the hell?!" She let's out a shaky laugh, "I'll find new friends and I'll be happy wherever we move to, knowing that my little sis is doing okay."
I smile genuinely, almost tearing up. Can your elder sister ever?
"Pass me the Vitamin A cereal would ya?" She says finishing up the one in her bowl. I give her the carton and mutter 'pig'.
"A growing pig." She corrects and I laugh. "Hey! When are the Tucker people going to give you your salary, we need the mula!" She asks pouring milk into the bowl again.
"Yeah, about that....." I say and dash to the living room and take out the money from my backpack and run back to the kitchen.
"Whoa, that's your salary?" She asks in disbelief as I take my seat again.
"Yup, and I'm giving it to you." I say and hand it to her.
"Why?" She asks eyeing the money.
"You think I don't know that you're saving up for a motorcycle," I smirk.
"How did you know about that?." Her eyes widen.
"You haven't been subtle about it."
"Even still, you didn't work for me," she shifts the cash to my side of the table, "you can't give me that because I gave you an advice."
I scoff, "please, I already thought of it in my head, when I was given the money, just take it."
"No." She goes back to eating her cereal, I can't eat mine, it has already gone soft.
"Please," I pout and she snorts.
"You're not cute, so no."
"Come on!"
"No."
"You need it."
"No."
"Just take it."
"No."
"Half of it?"
"No."
"Come on, let's split it," I say counting half and giving it to her. "You take half and I take half." I bargain.
She glares at me before she sighs taking the money, "thanks sis, it's appreciated." She smiles genuinely before going back to her food. "Do you know how many romance and chick flick movies I can buy with this?" She smirks and I glare at her before she burst into laughter.
*Sigh* I really like writing about Tiana, she reminds me of my sister.
Do you guys have siblings?.
