Chapter 1
"Brother dearest, what is taking you so long?"
The male paused and turned back to his female counterpart, "I sense a presence in these woods." He explained quietly. "Something new has arrived."
His sister scoffed, "sensing things is not your power." She walked up to him and whacked him. "That's great uncle Ford's powers, what? Are you learning from him now?!"
He shook his head, "of course not. Why would I lie to you?"
Her eyes gleamed. "Well you are lying now."
"How can you tell?" He grinned.
"My powers, brother dearest." She replied. "Remember, I have the sense."
"Of course," he shook his head. "But something is closing in on our woods. I don't need Ford to tell me that."
"Don't act like you're superior to everyone else!" She hissed. "Just because they declared that you were The One doesn't mean you can show off."
The male frowned. But his female counterpart wouldn't give it up. "Just because you're The One and are declared as the prophecy doesn't mean—"
"I am not the prophecy!" He hissed, angry with his sister. "Ford just wants someone to take his place so he isn't forced to stay with our dying race."
She chuckled. "We're not a dying race."
"Monster hunters." He snapped his fingers. "That's what's different."
"Monster hunters?" His sister echoed. "They've all disappeared for centuries."
"I still don't like the feeling I'm getting from it." He muttered darkly. "I dunno why you think it's nothing other than that."
"Whatever, let's get back to the Manor." She pulled him deeper into the woods.
"Something's not right," he muttered.
"C'mon, Dipper." She said.
"I just dunno what." He looked in the direction of the town and felt that someone watching him.
