Chapter Thirty-One
Jenny stood behind Sam as he unlocked the back door of the asylum, Dean turning on a camera before handing it to her and pulled out an EMF reader.
"So... Are we making a YouTube channel? I think if we start when this YouTube thing is new that we'd get some traction." Jenny joked as Sam and Dean paused, slowly turning to her as she was aiming the camera at Sam. She looked up from the screen, smiling. "What?"
The two ignored her, Sam pushing the door open. "I'm just sayin', it would be a good thing if people knew ghosts and monsters were real."
"Sure. Or they'll think we are psychotic and send us to a place like this." Dean commented as she nudged him, he gave her a look before entering behind his brother. Dean turned on the EMF, which immediately started buzzing.
"This place is orbing like crazy." Sam mumbled as he waved a flashlight around.
"Probably a whole bunch of spirits having an invisible disco party." Jenny joked as she spun around, staring at the camera screen.
"And if these uncovered bodies are causing the haunting..."
"We gotta find 'em and burn 'em." Dean interrupted his brother, turning back to Jenny. "Just be careful though. The only thing that makes me more nervous than a pissed off spirit... is the pissed off spirit of a psycho killer." She frowned at him and scoffed, looking back down at the camera.
"I think I can handle myself." Jenny hummed. The three continued on in silence.
Dean had walked off, leaving Jenny and Sam together as the two paces through the asylum. The woman's eyes were still on the camera, using it as her guide.
After a few minutes, Jenny suddenly threw her arm in front of Sam, looking up quickly. "Dean!" She yelled, hearing the thundering footsteps as Jenny and Sam stared at a white haired woman. Her eyes bloody and stood a few paces from them.
"Dean! Shotgun!" Sam yelled as they turned to see Dean rummaging quickly through his bag, pulling out his gun.
"Get down!" Jenny and Sam threw themselves to the floor, Sam's hand covering Jenny's head in case anything backfired and hit them. The long bang of the shotgun echoed in the hallway, the ghost i. front of them disintegrating from the salt pellets.
Jenny gasped softly as she looked up and around, her and Sam frowning in confusion. "That was weird." Sam spoke as the two stood up, Dean dropping the gun.
"Yeah. You're telling me." He scoffed a laugh, Sam shook his head.
"No, Dean, I mean it was weird that she didn't attack us."
"Looked pretty aggro from where I was standing."
"She didn't hurt me. Or Jenny. She didn't even try! So if she didn't wanna hurt us then what did she want?"
"A box of chocolates?" Jenny joked as the two boys frowned at her. "What? I'm just saying we're getting close to Valentine's day. Wouldn't hurt for some caramel chocolates." The three paused at the sound of a clang. Dean raised his gun again towards the door, Jenny raising the camera up.
The trio slowly walked into a new room, Sam shining his flashlight to a cot, where the head of a blonde girl was barely visible. The three shared a look before cautiously approaching her, Jenny walking slowly around.
The girl screamed, holding her fists out as Jenny set the camera down, raising her hands in defense. "It's okay. We aren't gonna hurt you." The girl's tear stained face gave her an unsure look, and the brunette knelt down. "What's your name?"
"Kaitlyn... Kat." She spoke softly, Jenny looking up at Dean before back at the blonde girl.
"Okay... Kat.. I'm Jenny. These are my friends. Sam and Dean. What are— What are you doing here?"
"My boyfriend... Gavin." Jenny looked around in confusion, not seeing another living person other than the three in front of her.
"Is Gavin here?" Kat shrugged as she stared at the ground.
"Somewhere... He thought it would be fun. See some ghosts or something. I thought it— I thought it was all just... pretend. Then I heard him scream and—" Jenny put a comforting hand in the girl's shoulder.
"Alright. Listen, Kat. We're going to get you out of here. Then we'll look for your boyfriend, okay?" Kat shook her head in defiance.
"No! I'm not leaving without Gavin!" She argued, the two standing up.
"I know you don't want to, Kat. But it's not safe for you to be here any longer."
"That's why I need to find him!" She spoke louder, Jenny looking to Sam and Dean, who shrugged. Jenny sighed quietly, nodding.
"Alright... Uh— Sam. Why don't you and Kat go together. Dean and I will head the other way." Kat slowly approached Sam, who started walking out with her and heading down into the hallway.
After a moment, Jenny and Dean went the opposite direction.

"So... That near-kiss..." Dean finally broke the silence, chuckling as Jenny looked at him with a soft smile.
"Yeah. And while I wouldn't mind sharing a kiss in a totally creepy, "I threw up in the hallway next to this one" asylum... Now wouldn't necessarily be the best time." Dean clicked his tongue as Jenny mimicked him, the two falling back into a awkwardly comfortable silence.
"You'd think with a girl her age, she's seen enough horror movies to know never to go into a haunted building." Dean joked as Jenny snorted, shaking her head.
After another few minutes if silence, Dean's flashlight flickered, and he shook it roughly as it died. "Dammit. You got those batteries?"
Jenny shook her head. "Nope. Used them for mine." Dean rolled his eyes before snickering, pulling out his lighter and flicked it on.
The two started walking again, when suddenly a cold arm gripped Jenny's wrist. "Ouch! Jesus, Dean if I knew you wanted to play rough—"
"What?" Dean stopped as Jenny tried to wiggle free. The arm wouldn't budge.
"Would you let go of me?!"
"I'm not touching—" Dean turned around as Jenny looked to her side, eyes widening to see a disembodied arm gripping her wrist.
Before she could do anything, Jenny was flung until the room next to her and Dean. Jenny went crashing against a cot and yelled in pained, thumping to the ground as the door slamming shut.
"Jen!" Dean yelled from the other side, pounding on the door. Jenny groaned in pain as she stood up slowly, walking to the door.
"Jen?!"
"I'm fine! Other than the fact that a god damned arm threw me to the fucking Himalayans!" She yelled, trying to push the door open. "Shit!"
Jenny took a step back as Dean slammed something into the door. She ran a hand through her hair, pausing when a cold breath hit the back of her neck. She spun around quickly, her breath hitching when no one was behind her.
Jenny turned around again, gasping when a man stood directly in front of her. She reached behind her back, eyes widening even more when she realized her gun wasn't there. "Oh boy."
The ghost threw Jenny across the room, crashing into the cot again. She rolled off of it with a hard thud, yelping when she landed in her shoulder. "Dammit!" She spat, sitting up quickly.
"What's going on?" She heard Sam's voice from the other side.
"Jenny's locked in there with one of them." Dean's panicked voice echoed into her head as Jenny looked over the cot.
"Someone get me out of here I lost my damn gun!" She continued looking around, holding her shoulder with her other hand, hoping to find anything iron.
Jenny paused when the man started walking towards her. She slid back for a moment before pausing as he knelt towards her.
"137."
Jenny's brows furrowed in confusion before hearing the door unlock. Dean ran in quickly, kneeling next to Jenny and grabbed her sprained arm. She hissed in pain, looking at him.
"137." She repeated, he frowned. "That's what the ghost whispered to me. 137."
Sam and Dean shared one look before speaking in unison. "Room number."
