Chapter Sixty-Nine
Jenny had been staring at Meg since Bobby had gone back upstairs. She didn't show any emotion for the girl, though she still felt bad. Bobby came back down with the Key of Solomon, handing it to Sam.
"You three better beat it before the paramedics get here." Bobby ordered as Jenny cleared her throat, standing up.
"What are you gonna tell them?" Dean asked with a soft frown, Bobby giving him an odd look.
"You think you guys invented lying to the cops? I'll figure something out. You might need that." Bobby answered, gesturing to the book in Sam's hands.
"Thanks... for everything. Be careful, alright?" Dean patted Bobby's shoulder and the old man nodded.
"You just go find your Dad. And when you do, you bring him around, would you? I won't even try to shoot him this time." Bobby turned to Jenny, who pulled him into a hug. "You take care of yourself, kiddo."
"You too, old man." She laughed softly, Bobby giving her an amused yet annoyed look.
As the three started to leave, Bobby turned back to them. "And Dean?"
Dean paused as Sam and Jenny continued walking up the stairs, Bobby gesturing to Jenny. "You break her heart I'll break your arms."
Dean gave him a worried look before nodding. "I understand. I'll keep her safe, Bobby."

Jenny stood next to Dean helping him load up every weapon they could fit into one duffel bag, Sam sitting on the roof of the car, reading the Ley of Solomon.
"You know he'll be okay, Dean." Jenny murmured, glancing over at him.
"That's not what I'm really worried about." He answered, shoving a box of salt in the bag. Jenny frowned at him as he turned to look at her. "I'm more worried about you."
Jenny gave Dean a confused smile, laughing. "Why would you be worried about me? I'm fine."
"Really? Because you know how possessions work. You wouldn't have hurt Meg like that. Shoving holy water down her throat? And the aggression?" Jenny turned away, loading a gun.
"We needed answers." She said bluntly, shrugging it off.
"So the torture had nothing to do with what you saw in those— visions?" Dean asked, leaning against the trunk as Jenny pressed her lips together and shook her head.
"Nope." She replied quietly. Dean sighed.
"Jen—"
"Okay so maybe I'm a tad bit angry about finding out my brother is actually being possessed by the demon you and your family have been searching for for the last 22-23 years. Big deal, that's not what I'm worried about right now. We'll deal with it later. Right now we— Sam what are you doing?" Jenny cut herself off as Sam nudged her aside, starting to draw something on the Impala's trunk.
"Hey what are you doing to my car!?" Dean yelled, Sam jumping back from his brothers smack.
"It's called a Devil's trap. Demons can't get through it or inside it." Sam said as he slowly continued to draw the trap. Jenny hummed, glancing between the key and the trunk to make sure Sam was doing a decent job.
"So?" Dean frowned, clearly annoyed that Sam was drawing on his car.
"It basically turns the trunk into a lockbox." Dean's frown only hardened.
"So?"
"So, we have a place to hide the Colt while we go get Dad."
"What are you talking about? We're bringing the Colt with us." Dean scoffed as Jenny quickly turned to Dean.
"Are you insane?" She frowned, Dean giving her a surprised look.
"We can't, Dean. We've only got three bullets left. We can't just use them on any demon, we've got to use them on the demon."
"No, we have to save Dad, Sam, okay? We're gonna need all the help we can get." Dean gestured to the Colt in his pocket, then to Jenny, who had been keeping the dagger in the trunk since John had given it back to her.
"Dean, you know how pissed Dad would be if we used all the bullets? Dean, he wouldn't want us to bring the gun."
"And that's why we have the dagger! Sam, you know what the thing is capable of."
"Yes! I do know what it's capable of! It's capable of close combat only! Close enough to kill Jenny!"
"I am right here." Jenny spoke up, the two brothers looking at her. "There's no way I'm dying because of some damn demon."
"And you won't." Dean snapped, turning back to Sam.
"We want to kill this demon. You used to want that, too. Hell, I mean, you two are the ones who came and got me at school! You guys are the ones who dragged me back into this. I'm just trying to finish it!"
"Wow, you and Dad are a lot more alike than I thought, you know that? You both can't wait to sacrifice yourself for this thing. But you know what? I'm gonna be the one to bury you. You're selfish, you know that? You don't care about anything but revenge!"
"Guys it's really not the best time to argue—"
"That's not true, Dean!" Sam yelled, cutting of Jenny. "I want Dad back. But they are expecting us to bring this gun. They get the gun, they will kill us all. That Colt is our only leverage and you know it, Dean. We can not bring that gun. We can't."
"Fine." Dean grumbled as Sam deadpanned at him.
"I'm serious, Dean."
"I said fine, Sam." Dean grabbed the Colt out of his jacket pocket and held it up to show Sam and Jenny before putting it in the trunk.

Sam, Dean and Jenny walked by the river, stepping through the trees before Dean came to a stop. "Hey, hey." The two other Hunters paused, turning back to Dean. "Think I know what Meg meant by Sunrise."
Sam and Jenny looked to where Dean was staring, straight at a sign labeled "Sunrise Apartments."
"Son of a bitch. That's pretty smart. I mean, if these demons can possess people they can possess almost anybody inside." Dean whispered as Jenny hummed quietly.
"Not to mention anyone could attack us." She added, fixing her uncomfortable stance.
"And so we can't kill them – a building full of human shields." Jenny and Sam nodded, looking around cautiously.
"They probably know exactly what we look like, too. And they could look like anybody." Sam continued as Jenny sighed.
"Well this just sucks ass, doesn't it?" She smiled sarcastically, looking between the brothers.
"Tell me about it. Alright, so, how the hell are we going to get in?" Sam asked. Dean looked over at the building for a minute, thinking.
"Pull the fire alarm, get out all the civilians."
"Okay, but then the city responds in, what, seven minutes?" Sam assumed, Dean nodding.
"Seven minutes exactly."
"Sounds like enough time for me." Jenny stood up straighter. "I mean, I've had my fair share of seven minutes in heaven. It's a lot longer than you think."
Sam and Dean gave Jenny a strange look.
✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Jenny and Dean rushed up to one of the firemen, looking worried as they stared at the apartments. "Hey, what's happening? Is there a fire?" Dean asked as the fireman turned to the two.
"We just figured that out now, sir. Just stay back." Jenny started to act a little panicked as the fireman started to gently nudge them away.
"Awe man, we've got a Yorkie up there and he owes when he gets nervous—" Dean scratched the back of his neck, Jenny looking at the fireman with a pleading eye.
"You gotta get him out of there, alright? Like, he pees a lot." Dean nodded to Jenny, smiling awkwardly at the fireman. The man walked away, Jenny and Dean looking over to see Sam quickly exiting the building.
After a few minutes, Jenny had been keeping watch as Sam and Dean stole some gear, dressing themselves in fire suits. "I've always wanted to be a firefighter growing up." Dean chuckled as Jenny turned around, brows raising slightly at how Dean looked in the suit.
"Well. I can say it could have suited you." She commented as Dean admired his reflection on the side of the truck. "Alright, while I would have loved to join you guys to beat up some demons, they only had two spares. So make it fast."
"We'll be out soon, Jenny." Sam promised and she nodded, handing Dean an EMF.
"Be careful." She continued, and Dean nodded, wobbling over towards her before she laughed.
"Don't laugh! These things are heavy!" He griped as she only continued to laugh. Dean rolled his eyes, joining Sam as he entered the apartment complex.
✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Every few seconds, Jenny would check her phone before going back to watching the front door. Jenny turned her head at the voice of a fireman warning a civilian.
"Hey, man. You can't go in there." Jenny watched the interaction, frowning in confusion as two firemen walked right past the civilian, which made eye contact with her. But what stated back was not a human. It was a demon.
"Oh shit." Jenny muttered, watching the demon walk inside as she shot up, running after them.
Jenny raced after the three men, one of the firemen carrying an axe. As she rounded the corner, she could hear Sam and Dean shouting before the echo of wood splinter alerted the Hunter. She dug through her inner pocket, pulling out Bobby's flask of holy water.
"Hey!" Jenny yelled as she popped the cap off, the three men turning around. She flayed the water at their faces, sizzling. The men hissed in pain, backing away as Jenny started yelling in Latin. An exorcism she had memorized years ago.
Jenny walked over to the now unconscious men, kneeling down and checking their pulses. After making sure they were alive, Jenny looked over to the splintered door, torn open from the axe. Peeking inside, she saw no one and assumed from the open window that Sam, Dean and John had escaped through it.
One of the firemen behind Jenny gasped as she spun around, quickly kneeling back down. "Hey! It's alright. You'll be okay."
"What happened?" He asked, sitting up with a struggle.
"I just found you passed out with these two. You should check up with a paramedic."
"Are you alright? Is there still a fire?" Jenny shook her head as she helped the fireman up.
"No. No fire. And I'm alright. I need to find my friends outside." Without another word, Jenny ran off back to the front area, bursting through the doors.
"Jennifer!" Jenny looked around at the sound of Dean's worried voice, running towards it. She found him, Sam and John, Dean holding the Colt.
"Jesus Christ, where the hell did you go?!" He yelled, rushing over to her."
"I saw some demons go after you guys. Exorcised them. Why do you have the Colt?" Jenny looked over Dean's shoulder to see a dead man, her eyes widening.
✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Dean walked out of the bedroom in the cabin they had found, Jenny pacing back and forth.
"How is he?" Sam asked, referring to John who was sleeping in the bedroom.
"He'll be fine. How are you guys?" Dean looked at Sam, then to Jenny, who was still pacing.
"I'll be fine. Hey, you don't think we were followed here, so you?" Sam asked as Dean shook his head.
"I don't think so. We shouldn't worry, though. We still got the Colt." Jenny said, Dean staying quiet for a moment as he looked at her. "I'm not mad at you for using one of the bullets, if that's what you're thinking."
"If anyone is going to get mad, it's Dad." Sam said quietly, just loudly enough for John to hear as her walked out of the bedroom.
"Well, I'm not. You did good, Dean." Everyone turned in confusion at John's gentle smile, Jenny taking a step back at the sick feeling she had in her stomach.
"You're not mad?" Dean asked, brows raised. John scoffed.
"For what?"
"Using a bullet."
"Mad? I'm proud of you. You know, Sam and I, we can get pretty obsessed. But you— you watch out for this family. You always have." Dean smiled softly, looking down for a moment
"Thanks." The wind suddenly picked up as the lights started to flicker. The four Hunters rushed over to the window, looking outside as Jenny felt even more sick.
"It found us. It's here." John whispered, Jenny giving him a heavily suspicious look.
"The demon?" Sam asked, stating the obvious.
"Sam, line of salt in front of every window, every door." John ordered as Jenny started stepping away from John.
"He already did... You watched him do it." She uttered, the sickening feeling finally having a reason.
"Well, check it, okay?" John turned back to Sam, who walked out. Dean looked between Jenny and Dean.
"Dean, you got the gun?" Dean nodded, John looked to Jenny. "You got the dagger?" She nodded.
"Give them to me." John outstretched his hands to them, Jenny quick to start sliding the knife from her wrist down to her hand.
"Dad, Sam tried to shoot the demon in Salvation. It disappeared." Dean recalled as John scoffed.
"This is me. I won't miss. Now, the gun, hurry." Dean looked down at the Colt, taking a few steps back.
"Give me the gun. What are you doing, Dean?" He turned to Jenny. "Jennifer, give me the dagger.
"He'd be furious." Dean whispered, his father looking back at him.
"What?"
"That I wasted a bullet. He wouldn't be proud of me, he'd tear me a new one." Dean reiterated, looking over at Jenny. She nodded slowly, taking out her dagger and shuddering a breath at the energy that flowed through her.
Dean raised the gun at John.
"You're not my dad."
"Dean, it's me." John looked back at Jenny, noticing the dagger in her hand. His eyes widened partially. "Jenny, tell him."
"You aren't John." She seethed as Sam walked back into the room, pausing in his tracks at the scene.
"Dean? Jenny what the hell is going on?"
"They've lost their damn minds!" John yelled, looking to Sam.
"It's not John, Sam." Jenny recapped, barely glancing over at the you best Winchester.
"What?"
"He's been possessed since we rescued him." Dean said, looking as if he were fighting back tears. "He's.... he's different."
"You know, we don't have time for this. Sam, you wanna kill this demon, you've gotta trust me." John pleaded, looking back at Jenny. "Come on, Jenny."
"Shut up." She snapped, feeling the energy growing stronger as she fought back the urge to snap John in half. Sam looked back and forth between the three, shaking his head.
"Sam?" John spoke, his son continuing to look at them.
"No. No." Sam walked over to stand by Dean's side, Jenny slowly, cautiously, following after.
"Fine. You're all so sure, go ahead. Kill me." John looked down, waiting as Dean aimed the gun at him again. But he couldn't pull the trigger. "I thought so."
The three's eyes widened as John looked back up, but his eyes were yellow this time.
Jenny lunged at John, ready to stab him before getting thrown into the wall, landing on the counter before collapsing onto the ground. She groaned in pain, holding her side. She tried to get up, but seemed to be pinned.
Sam and Dean were next, the yellow eyed demon pinning them to the wall.
"What a pain in the ass this thing's been." The demon seethed, walking back and forth as he looked down at Jenny.
"It's you, isn't it? We've been looking for you for a long time." Sam spoke loudly, the demon turning to him.
"Well, you found me." He grinned, raising his hands up.
"But the holy water?"
"You think something like that works on something like me?" He laughed. Sam tried to fight the force pinning him to the wall, failing. Jenny turned onto her back, trying to sit up but failed.
The demon turned to look down at her. "Mm. I wasn't expecting more out of a Price." Jenny looked at him, confused when he didn't continue.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Sam yelled. The demon laughed again, pointing to him.
"Oh, that'd be a neat trick. In fact... here." The demon set the Colt and Dagger on the table. "Make these float to you there, psychic boy."
Sam looked to the gun as if he were truly attempting but nothing happened. Jenny tried to speak in latin, but nothing came out.
"Well, this is fun." The demon walked past Jenny to the window by Dean, sighing. "I could've killed you a hundred times today, but this... this is worth the wait." Dean struggled against the invisible restraints as the demon looked at him.
"Your Dad— he's in here with me. Trapped inside his own meat suit. He says "hi", by the way. He's gonna tear you apart. He's gonna taste the iron in your blood."
"Let him go, or I swear to God—"
"What? What are you and God gonna do? You see, as far as I'm concerned, this is justice." The demon slowly walked over to Dean as Jenny fought harder against the restraints. "You know that little exorcism of yours? That was my daughter."
"Who, Meg?" Dean snapped, tilting his head.
"The one in the alley? That was my boy. You understand."
"You've got to be kidding me."
"What? You're the only one that can have a family? You destroyed my children. How would you feel if I killed your family?" He slowly turned to Jenny, who suddenly had a look of panic.
"Don't touch her—" Dean whispered in a deathly threatening tone. The demon looked at him, smiling.
"I don't have to touch her to hurt her." Jenny suddenly screamed in pain, panic washing over Sam and Deans faces as a long claw mark ripped through her shirt.
"No!" Dean yelled, and the demon suddenly stopped, Jenny heaving in pain. "You son of a bitch!"
"I wanna know why. Why'd you do it?" Sam suddenly asked, John turning to Sam
"You mean why did I kill Mommy and pretty, little Jess?" Sam nodded, and John turned back to Dean. He was fighting angry, worried tears as he stared at Jenny'. "You know, I never told you this, but Sam was going to ask her to marry him. Been shopping for rings and everything." John backed to Sam, looking at him. "You want to know why? Because they got in the way."
"In the way of what?" Sam uttered.
"My plans for you, Sammy. You... and all the children like you."
"Is Jenny one of them?" Sam continued to ask. John shook his head.
"No. She's just psychic." Sam and Dean frowned in confusion. "Why do you think she gets sick around ghosts and demons? I didn't give her those abilities."
"Listen, you mind just getting this over with, huh? Cause I really can't stand the monologuing." Dean snapped again, fighting the restraints once more.
"Funny, but that's all part of your M.O., isn't it? Masks all that nasty pain, masks the truth. You're really masking it now, seeing her in pain." Dean huffed angrily, and John smiled wickedly.
"You know, you fight and you fight for this family, but the truth is they don't need you. Not like you need them. Sam– he's clearly John's favorite. Even when they fight, it's more concern than he's ever shown you. And Jenny. Well, you just keep dragging her along." At that moment, Jenny was dragged across the floor, starting to float into the air.
"I bet you're real proud of your kids, too, huh? Oh wait, I forgot. I wasted 'em." Dean said, trying to hide the panic in his voice as Jenny groaned in pain. Blood trickled down her chest. Dean suddenly yelled in pain and Jenny's eyes widened in panic as Dean started bleeding.
"Deam! No!" Sam yelled, fighting the restraints as his brother bled heavily, Dean looking at John, who just stared at him with a grin.
"Dad! Dad don't you let that thing kill me." Dean pleaded.
Jenny cried out as blood trickled out of Dean's mouth. "Dean!" She yelled, thrashing around the invisible force. John looked at Dean again and smiled, watching as he yelled in agony.
"Dean!" Sam and Jenny yelled in unison. Blood ran out of Dean's mouth as Kenny started to cry in a panic, shaking her head.
Dean passed out. "Dean!" Sam yelled.
"Stop." John whispered, the yep unharmed young hunters suddenly falling. Jenny holding her chest as it slowly bled.
Sam dove and grabbed the gun off the table. John turned to him, eyes yellow once again, and Sam aimed the gun at him.
"You kill me, you kill Dad." John demanded as Sam aimed the gun at him.
"I know." Sam shot John in the leg, Dean falling down. Jenny crawled over to him, lifting Dean on her lap.
"Dean? Dean, hey? Oh my God..." She muttered, watching his eyes flutter open. She wiped some blood from his lips, holding back tears.
"Where's Dad? Sam?"
"They're right here. They're right here." Jenny turned back to see Sam standing over John
"Sammy! It's still alive. It's inside me, I can feel it. You shoot me. You shoot me! You shoot me in the heart, son!" Jenny's eyes widened as Sam aimed the gun directly at John's heart, the short memory of her stabbing her own brother flashing in her mind. "Do it!"
"Sam, don't you do it. Don't you do it." Dean begged, Sam still hesitating.
"You've gotta hurry! I can't hold onto it much longer! You shoot me, son! Shoot me! Son, I'm begging you! We can end this here and now! Sammy!" The demon suddenly left John's body before Sam could shoot him. Jenny and Dean sighed in relief.
✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Dean rested on Jenny's shoulder in the back of the Impala, her free hand running through his hair as her other held his opposite hand. John and Sam were in the front with Sam driving. Jenny watched the lights pass as they drove.
"Look, just hold on, alright. The hospital's only ten minutes away." Sam spoke up, looking at Dean in the back.
"You hear that, Dean?" Jenny whispered, shaking him gently. "We're almost there just hang tight."
"I'm surprised at you, Sammy. Why didn't you kill it? I thought we saw eye-to-eye on this? Killing this demon comes first— before me, before everything." John said as Sam glanced at him before looking back at the roads.
Jenny looked out the window, frowning in confusion. "Sam—"
"No, sir. Not before everything. Look, we've still got the Colt. We still have the one bullet left. And we have the dagger."
"Sam stop the car—"
"We just have to start over, alright? I mean, we already found the demon—"
"SAM STOP THE CAR!"
But it was too late.
8:42 PM.
Sam Winchester was driving his brother's car. John Winchester was in the passenger seat. Dean Winchester was in the back, being comforted by his girlfriend, Jennifer Price.
When suddenly, a truck driver, possessed by a demon, rammed into them at full speed using an eighteen-wheeler, sending them flying off the road.
And it wouldn't be until Dean woke up that they would discover who was driving that truck.
