Chapter Seven

Day had arrived, Jenny had spent the whole night watching over everyone, not giving herself a moment to rest.

Her tired eyes landed on Haley, who was talking to Dean. The woman yawned quietly, noticing that Sam was reading his fathers journal. She stood up slowly as Dean did, walking over to Sam.

"So we've got half a chance in the daylight. And I for one want to kill this evil son of a bitch." Sam said as Dean nodded.

"Hell, you know I'm in." He smirked as Sam sat up straighter against the tree stump, Haley and Ben walking over as Sam showed them a page titled 'Wendigo.'

"Wendigo' is a Cree Indian word. It means 'evil that devours'." Sam started as Jenny nodded.

"Wendigo's are hundreds of years old. Sometimes hunters or miners. Frontiersmen... Usually Indians. During harsh winters, they'd run out of supplies and become cannibals in order to survive." Jenny explained as Ben nodded.

"Like Donner Party."

"Sure, let's go with that." Jenny said as Sam cleared his throat, going to continue.

"Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities. Speed, strength, immortality." Sam shut the journal as Jenny sat on the ground, picking at a blade of grass and showing it to Haley and Ben.

"Over time, usually years, when you start eating enough human meat..." She started slowly plucking at the grass, the four watching as it got closer and closer to nothing. "You start to lose your humanity. Become this monster that's always hungry. Can never stop eating flesh."

"So... if that's true... How is Tommy still alive?" Haley asked as Dean sighed, shaking his head.

"You're not gonna like it."

"Tell me." Haley demanded with a frown, Jenny, Sam and Dean sharing a look.

"More than anything, a wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time, but when it's awake it keeps its victims alive. It, uh, it stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants. If your brother's alive, it's keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe. We gotta track it back there." Dean explained as Haley sighed.

"How do we stop it?"

"Well, guns and knives are practically a play toy for Wendigos." Jenny said as she pulled out the gun from behind her, setting it in the grass.

Dean then went on to hold up a can of lighter fluid, a beer bottle, and a white cloth he had picked up earlier, a smirk on his face.

"We gotta light the sucker."

Dean and Jenny lead the group, molotov cocktails in hand as they noticed blood and claw marks guiding them towards wherever they needed to go.

After a few short moments, Sam was leading the way, and as they got deeper into the forest, they started to notice how much blood and claw marks were in the trees, guiding them to no where.

"You know, I was thinking, those claw prints, so clear and distinct. They were almost too easy to follow." Sam paused as the rest did, realizing that he was right.

A thud came from behind the trio as well as a growl, Jenny whipping around and ready to throw the cocktail before realizing what had dropped.

Roy's mangled body laid just in front of Haley, blood splattered all over him, and a few drops of his blood on the girl's shirt. Jenny lowered her arm as she walked over to Roy, kneeling down.

"His neck is broken." Jenny looked back to Sam and Dean who sighed quietly before more growling echoed around them.

"Okay. Go. Run, run run!" Dean ordered as Jenny scrambled to stand up, the group sprinting away. Ben fell to the ground, Sam running back to help him, splitting the group.

Dean, Haley and Jenny skidded to a halt as the wendigo appeared in front of them, Haley screaming in horror, Jenny chucking her cocktail but not fast enough.

The wendigo was able to snatch the three of them.

It may have been an hour or two. Jenny, Dean and Haley were tied up by their wrists, passed out.

There was a small shard of glass etched into Jenny's cheek, most likely from her attempt to attack the wendigo but missing, and blood trickled down her cheek.

Jenny winced in pain as she was being shaken violently, gasping in shock as she saw Dean's face inches from her. Her arms shook before she fell, Sam having cut the rope around her wrists and Dean caught her, leaning the girl against a beam.

"You okay?" He asked, quickly plucking the glass from her cheek. Jenny hissed in pain, groaning.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Where are they?" Jenny turned her head to see Haley hugging her two brothers tightly, her heart warming for a moment before turning back to Dean.

"How long was I out?"

"Not long. We got flare guns." Dean took Jenny's hand, putting a flare gun in her palm before helping her stand up.

"I can stand up on my own. I wasn't hung upside down." She said before straightening up, Dean raising his hands away from her as she checked her flare gun. "We should get out of here. I'll stay in the back."

"Jen—"

"I'm fine, Dean. Seriously I can manage on my own. I'll make sure they're safe." Jenny looked over at the three siblings, Tommy standing on one leg as Sam and Dean shared an unsure look before nodding, the six quickly rushing out of the tunnels.

Jenny walked backwards, occasionally looking behind her as she made sure to watch Tommy, who had the help of his Ben and Haley, his limp only getting worse every time he put pressure on his leg.

A low growl knocked Jenny back into her safety mode, aiming her flare gun straight ahead.

"Looks like someone's home for supper." Dean joked as he turned back to look at Jenny, who wasn't facing him.

"Okay. Idea." Jenny turned around to face the group, before waving a goodbye as she booked it down a tunnel, Sam and Dean's eyes widening in shock.

"Come here you ugly bastard!" Jenny screamed from down the tunnel, whistling loudly as she heard the growling start to follow her. She waved the group away, watching as Dean gave her a look that told her he was going to do that before Sam shoved him on.

Jenny continued to make as much noise as she could, singing obnoxiously as she listened to the Wendigo get closer.

"Come on out, Wendy! I taste real good!" She mused. "All natural, too!" She continued, running around the tunnels.

Jenny turned a corner to see the group behind the wendigo, growling ferociously at them.

"Hey, knucklehead!" The Wendigo snapped around, Jenny's arms stealing as she aimed her flare gun right at its stomach. "Slumber party's over."

The woman shot the flare gun, watching as the Wendigo screeched, going up in flames. A smirk spread across her face, putting the gun to her lips and blowing in a joking manner.

"So. Whose ready for a hospital visit?"

Jenny sat on the hood of the Impala as Tom, Ben and Haley rode off in an ambulance. Her cheek had been patched up with a small bandaid, a victorious look on her face as Dean and Sam walked over to her.

"I say... today is a win. We should celebrate with shots and sappy rom-coms." She smiled as Dean gave Sam an unamused look, the younger Winchester stepping back as Jenny frowned. "Are you about to yell at me?"

"What we're you thinking, Jen?!"

"Oh, here we go."

"You could have gotten yourself killed!" Dean yelled as she laughed, rolling her eyes. "What the hell is so funny?!"

"If I wasn't here, you would have done the same thing!" She argued as Dean scoffed, turning to Sam, who stayed quiet.

"Now is not the time to talk about what I would have done. Don't be an idiot!" Sam rolled on his heels awkwardly as Jenny hopped off the hood, looking at Dean.

"I can take care of myself." Jenny backed away from the two, a smile returning to her face. "Now. I haven't slept in 32 hours, so I'm gonna chill in the back, Sam can ride shotgun. Or drive. I don't make the rules for Baby." Dean watched Jenny, a frown on his face as she slid into the backseat of the impala, pulling out her phone, scrolling to her contacts.

Clicking on the contact, putting it up to her ear. She groaned when it went to voicemail almost right away, sighing quietly.

"Hey, it's me again. Three of us finished the second case together. Don't know when we'll see you, but I'm hoping it's soon. Call me back." She hung up the phone as the Winchester brother's got in, Sam in the driver's and Dean in the passenger seat.

Dean slowly looked back at Jenny, who gave him a soft smile. One that he barely reciprocate before turning back as Sam started up the car.

The three drove in a long silence until eventually, quiet snoring from the back caused the two boys in front to realize Jenny had passed out, the quiet sound of the Tetris theme song playing on her phone.

A/N:
I really love that Jenny has an obsession for Tetris for no reason. I haven't given any of my OC's something like that, and I lowkey love myself for giving her something like that. She's become my favorite OC so fast. Funny, smart and an adorable badass. anyways i like when y'all comment so... pls comment 🧍🏻‍♀️ and vote :)
