Chapter Fourty-Seven
Sam and Dean stood in the sheriffs department, both looking as nervous as ever. "You don't think it was the phantom, do you? I mean— maybe she just wandered off—"
"Dean. She went out two minutes before I did. There's no way she could disappear that fast." Sam spoke in a hushed voice, Dean nodding slowly as he only started to panic more. It had been several hours, and they hadn't found her anywhere.
"One of us should have gone out with her." Dean commented under his breath, running a hand through his hair. "Dammit."
"Dean. This isn't either of our faults. Jenny will be fine. She can handle herself. She— She'll be okay."
"Alright." A deputy walked over to the brothers, soft smile on her face. The two held up their fake ID's to her. "What can I do for you Officer Washington and... Rogers?"
"We're working a missing persons." Dean spoke in a rushed tone, pocketing his ID.
"Didn't know the Jenkins case was being covered by the state police." She chuckled, and Sam shook his head.
"Uh no, actually. There's someone else. My partner's girlfriend. We went out last night to a local bar... Haven't seen her since." Sam said as the deputy nodded.
"Does your girlfriend have a drinking problem?" She asked, and Dean hummed, nodding.
"Well... She's getting better about it. Had two shots but— Jen wasn't drunk. She was taken." Kathleen nodded, sitting down at her computer. Sam and Dean sat down in front as she typed away.
"Alright. What's her name?"
"Jennifer— Jennifer Price." Sam answered, looking to see Dean fumbling with the arm of his chair.
"Like the archaeologist?" Sam and Dean frowned in confusion before nodding.
"Uh... Yeah. Like the archaeologist." Kathleen went back to typing into her computer, humming.
"I see her parents died when she was pretty young. Tough way to go, too. Says she lives with a uh— Robert Singer?" Dean nodded. "And her brother, Nathaniel—"
"Brother?" Sam and Dean interrupted her, and Kathleen gave them a weird look.
"Yes? Looks like he went missing 'bout a decade ago." The two brothers shared a look, and Kathleen looked at them again. "You two boys working his case as well?"
"No— no uh— We weren't aware he disappeared." Sam said, the frown still on his face.
"Uh-huh." Kathleen typed something else into her computer and shrugged. "Well, he's not showing up in any current field reports."
"Oh, we already have a lead. I saw a surveillance camera by the highway." Dean spoke up, Sam glancing over at his brother.
"Uh-huh. The county traffic cam?"
"Right. Yeah. I'm thinking the camera picked up whatever took her. Or, whoever." Dean crossed his arms, leaning back in his chair.
"Well, I have access to the traffic cam footage down at the county works department, but—well, anyhow, let's do this the right way." She stood up, taking out some papers from a filing cabinet. "Why don't you two fill out a missing persons report and sit tight over here?" Sam and Dean stood up quickly, Dean taking the clipboard.
"Officer, look, uh, she's like our family. I kind of—we kind of look out for her. You gotta let us go with you." Sam begged as Kathleen shook her head.
"I'm sorry, I can't do that."
"Well, tell me something. Your county has its fair share of missing persons. Any of 'em come
back?" Kathleen gave Dean a sad look. "Jen is my responsibility. And she's comin' back. I'm bringin' her back."
Kathleen looked at him for a moment before she walked away. Sam sighed quietly, turning to Dean. "Look—"
"We need to find her. I mean— I— We have to find her." Dean walked away, leaving Sam standing by the computer.

Jenny jolted awake with a loud gasp, sitting up quickly and looking around. She had been thrown into a cage in a dark room, crawling over to the doorway of it. She rattled the cage, looking around frantically.
"Dean!? Sam!" She called out, but she knew there was no way they were near her. Jenny continued to look around, spitting Jenkins in the cage next to her.
Jenny sat down, kicking at the cage with frustrated yells. After her many failed attempts, she fell onto her back and covered her face, holding in even angrier tears.
Alvin Jenkins stirred in his cage, Jenny looking over and sighing in relief. "Thank God you're alive. Do you know where we are?" Jenny asked, crawling over to sit next to Jenkins' cage.
"Country— Smells like country." He spoke hoarsely, looking at Jenny. "Who are you?"
"Jennifer. I uh- was in town to save you but uhm... Guess it isn't going very well for me." Jenkins laughed, shaking his head. "You are Alvin Jenkins, right?"
"Yeah. And sorry to tell you, but this is a piss-poor rescue mission." Jenny nodded, resting her head against the cage.
"Well... My friends are out there. They'll find us." Jenkins shook his head in disbelief.
"Yeah, right. We're in the middle of butt-fucking nowhere, lady. They ain't finding us. Waiting for them to come back and do God-knows-what to us." Jenny frowned in confusion as the man gestured to the door, and Jenny turned back to him.
"Did you see what they are?" Jenkins frowned at her.
"See for yourself." The door unlocked, Jenny backing into the corner of her cage as two men in black coats and boots stalked towards her and Jenkins. One of them kicked at his cage, rattling it loudly as the other man knelt to be at eye level with Jenny. Her eyes widened in shock, looking to see the man that wasn't staring at her walk over to a panel.
He unlocked Jenkins cage, to which the man started screaming for them to not take him. When the man had dropped a tray of food in his cage and licked it back up, the two men disappeared. Jenkins started shoving the food in his mouth, Jenny crawling back to the front of the cage.
"Holy shit. They're just people."
"What did you expect?" Jenkins asked with a mouthful of food.
"Phantom attacker." She answered softly. Jenkins shot her a confused glare, going back to eating.
Jenny looked up, sticking her arm out of the cage and grabbed onto a king metal wire, pulling it down slowly. "What do you think they want?" Jenkins asked, watching Jenny struggle.
"Depends." She answered, yanking in the wire as it started to detach from the pole.
"They're a bunch of psycho hillbilly rednecks, if you ask me. Lookin' for love in all the wrong places." After a moment, Jenkins cleared his throat. "What's your name?"
"Jennifer." She answered, continuing to yank on the wire.
"Why don't you give up, Jen. There ain't no way out."
"Don't call me Jen." She spat, putting her feet against the wall of the cage and pulled down. The coil tore off the wall, causing Jenny to fall flat on her back as a small piece of metal fell next to her. "Ha! Fuckers."
"What is it?" Jenkins asked, peering through her cage as Jenny sat up, grabbing the metal.
"It's a bracket." Jenny crossed her legs and paused when Jenkins' cage opened, and he let out a laugh of relief.
"Maybe you knocked something loose!" He cheered quietly, climbing out as Jenny frowned.
"Jenkins. Get back in the cage." She ordered as he gave her an odd look.
"Don't you wanna get outta here?" He asked and she shook her head, pointing to the cage.
"Get back in that cage!" She demanded, and he shook his head, starting to walk away. "Jenkins! It's a trap you idiot!"
"I ain't staying here another minute. Bya, Jen." Jenkins walked out of the room as Jenny rattled her cage in anguish.
"Jenkins! Get back here you asshat!" Silence filled the room and Jenny pushed herself away from the cage, shaking her head in defeat. "Dammit."
After a few minutes of silence, Jenny looked to the open door, realizing she was likely in a barn. "Anyone got a harmonica?" She called out, laying on the ground when no one answered, blowing out through her pressed lips as she pretended to play an air harmonica.

Jenny had her legs above her, pressed against the cage as a man walked in, carrying a woman. Jenny sat up quickly, watching as he tossed her into Jenkins' old cage and locked it. She stayed quiet as the man walked out, turning to the woman.
After another few minutes, she stirred awake, rubbing her head in pain. "You okay?" Jenny asked softly, the woman turning to look at her.
"Are you Jennifer Price?" She asked, and Jenny nodded. "Your boyfriend and his partner are looking for you." Jenny smiled in relief, humming.
"Good to know they aren't dead. Where are they?"
"I uh... Cuffed them to my car." She chuckled, shaking her head. Jenny sighed quietly, eyes widening when the barn door opened again. She backed up into the corner of her cage, seeing that two familiar silhouettes stood in the doorway.
"Jen?" Dean rushed over to her cage as Jenny crawled back to him. Dean knelt in front her cage as Sam walked to Kathleen's. "Are you hurt?"
"My chin is busted, if you haven't noticed." Jenny commented, Dean looked down at her chin, noticing the dried blood from when she had slammed it into the pavement. "Think I fucked up my tongue, too, when I bit on it."
Dean couldn't help but chuckle softly. "It's good to see you."
"I knew you guys would find me." She smiled, gesturing to the lock. "There's a control panel by the door to open these."
Sam looked over to the door he was just standing in, rushing over to open the cages. "What snagged you?" Dean asked, ready to throw the cage door open.
"It's just people, Dean." He shook his head with a hum.
"So. You got beat up by some humans? Getting a little rusty, there." Jenny rolled her eyes at him and smiled.
"What do they want?" Sam asked as Jenny shrugged.
"I don't know. They let Alvin go, but that was some sort of trap."
"Well, that's the point. You know, with our usual playmates, there's rules, there's patterns. But with people, they're just crazy." Dean said as Jenny laughed in agreement.
"See anything else out there?" Jenny asked, looking between the brothers.
"Uh, he has about a dozen junked cars hidden out back. Plates from all over, so I'm thinkin' when they take someone, they take their car, too." Sam spoke, still trying every button on the panel.
"Did you see a black Mustang out there? About ten years old?" Kathleen asked as Sam and Dean looked at each other.
"Yeah, actually, we did." Jenny looked over to see tears forming in the corner's of Kathleen's eyes. "Your brother's?" She nodded hesitantly. "I'm sorry...... Let's get you guys out of here, then we'll take care of those bastards." Dean turned to Sam. "You got that thing open yet?"
"This thing takes a key." Jenny and Dean shared a look.
"I'll come right back, alright? We'll be back for you." Jenny nodded as Dean stood up, walking towards his brother.
"Hey." Jenny called out, Sam and Dean turning back to her. "Don't die."
"We'll be careful."

"And a few years back, I was in this case with the shorter guy and his dad." Jenny chuckled at the memory, Kathleen tilting her head in confusion. "You won't believe how many times I've been kidnapped."
"So... This is like— a common Tuesday for you?" The deputy asked, and Jenny shook her head.
"More of a Monday. I like Monday's more than Tuesd—" The door swung open, a small sense of hope from Jenny before it was shot down as a man unlocked the panel, as well as the cage. "What—" She cut herself short as he walked slowly towards her cage.
Jenny grabbed the bracket on the floor, eyes widening as the man aimed a gun right at her face. "Oh boy." She mumbled shoving the cage door open and threw herself at the man. The gun went off, louder than the guns she used since her ears had started to ring.
Jenny sat on top of the man, slamming her elbow into the man's face and grabbed his gun, aiming it at him. She pulled the trigger, but it only clicked. "Seriously? You only had one bullet? Come on, man."
She slammed the butt of the gun into his nose, knocking the man unconscious. Jenny grabbed the keys, running over to the panel and unlocked Kathleen's cage. "More will probably come. We need to hide first."
Kathleen ran behind a bale of hay as Jenny tossed Led into her cage, locking it and grabbed a crowbar nearby, running towards a wall and slammed it into the wires. She paused when they sliced in half. "Damn." She mumbled in shock, joining Kathleen behind the bake of hay.
"Lee!" A man's voice called out, two men walking into the barn. "Where the hell are ya? Lee!" The older man ran over to his unconscious son as the other flipped the light switch, but the barn remained dark.
"They must have blown the fuse." The older man tried the control panel next, but it was broken as well. The two moved into another room of the barn. Jenny continued to hide behind the bale of hay. Lee and his brother spun around as they heard a noise coming from Kathleen. Jared looked around in one area of the room, while his father climbed a ladder leading to a balcony. Jenny ran across the room, causing the two boys to spin around, but still see nothing.
Jared walked towards the cabinet, firing his rifle several times at the doors. He opened it quickly, but there had been nothing inside of it but tools. He left the room Jenny and his father were in, gun ready
Jenny was currently being chased around by the father. He fired his rifle at her, but Jenny had managed to dodge the bullets. She ran into the room Jared disappeared into, eyes widening as he was aiming his gun at Kathleen.
"Hey!" She yelled, grabbing his attention. Jared shot at Jenny, who jumped out of the way in time for Jared's father to walk in and get shot in the chest. Jared seemed unfazed as he went after the Hunter, stalking towards where she had disappeared.
Jenny ran up behind Jared, grabbing his gun out of his hand, and slammed it into the back of his head. "Goodnight, you sicko."
✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Jenny dropped the shot gun as she ran into the house, looking around frantically. "Dean? Sam!"
"Jen?!" Thundering footsteps echoed towards her and Dean rounded a corner, smiling in relief as he ran towards the woman. He pulled her into a tight hug, to which Jenny reciprocated. "I heard that first gunshot and I thought—"
"I'm okay." She interrupted him, pulling away from the hug. Dean held her face in his hands, kissing her roughly, the smile still on his face.

Sam, Dean and Jenny were now all walking alongside the road, since Kathleen seemed so kind as to make them walk back to the station.
"Never do that again." Dean finally spoke, looking at Jenny. "Never go missing again."
"I don't make promises I can't keep." Another long silence, and Jenny laughed. "You guys got beat up by some thirteen year old girl?"
"Oh, shut up." The brothers said in unison. Jenny laughed again, shoving her hands in her pockets.
