Chapter Eighteen

Jenny, Dean and Sam had found their way to another house. A man had been thrown in the back of a patrol car, and Jenny and Sam were digging through the trash.

After gagging at the horrid stench, Jenny dropped the lid on the trash can, which wafted the sent right back into her face, causing her to gag again. "God, what died in that?" She asked, swatting the smell away as Sam chuckled.

"It's not that bad." He argued as Jenny's hands slapped her sides as she scoffed, shaking her head. Just then, Dean rounded the corner, a look on his face that definitely said something was up.

"Remember when I said this wasn't our kind of problem?" He started, Sam spinning around as Jenny put her hands on her hips.

"Let me guess... My shapeshifter guess was right?" She tilted her head as Dean rolled his eyes, nodding. The girl grinned and clapped her hands together. "Hot damn! I knew it."

"What did you find out?" Sam asked, ignoring Jenny's victory shimmy. Dean raised his brows at the dancing woman, who then cleared her throat and went back to standing awkwardly.

"Well... I just talked to the patrolman who was first on the scene, heard this guy, Alex's story. Apparently the dude was driving home from a business trip when his wife was attacked." Jenny walked forward to stand next to Sam, her arms now crossed.

"So... Definitely a shapeshifter going around the neighborhood." She hummed as Sam looked down at her. Dean nodded in agreement.

"Let me ask you this— in all this shapeshifter lore, can any of them fly?" Sam asked as Jenny looked up at him, shaking her head.

"Not from the stuff I've read. But some can run pretty fast." She raised a finger in the air as Sam walked away, Dean and Jenny following.

"I picked up a trail here. Someone ran out the back of this building and headed off this way." Sam pointed to the backyard and Jenny looked at where he pointed, crossing her arms.

"Just like your friends house." Dean spoke up as Sam huffed.

"Yeah. And, just like at Zack's house, the trail suddenly ends. I mean, whatever it is just disappeared." Jenny slowly turned to look at Dean, who seemed to have the same thought as she did.

"Well... There's always a few ways to go." Her head dropped down as Sam have her a puzzled look, turning to his brother, who then looked at the manhole a few feet away from them.

Jenny slapped her flashlight against her hand, groaning in frustration as it flickered.

"Dead?" Dean asked as she hummed, unscrewing the bottom of the flashlight as took out the batteries, digging through her jean pocket and pulled out a new pair.

"And you always question why I keep batteries in my pockets." She waved the flashlight in Dean's face. "This is your answer."

"Yeah yeah whatever." Dean grumbled, watching Jenny turn the flashlight on and snicker. Jenny suddenly froze in her tracks, aiming her flashlight at a pile of something that definitely used to be human.

"Gross." She muttered, walking over slowly. She picked up a piece of it, Dean and Sam grimacing as it made a squishing noise. "Looks like this one sheds." She dropped the pile of blood and skin, wiping her hand on her pants.

"I bet this runs right by Zack's house, too. The shapeshifter could be using the sewer system to get around." Sam pondered, looking around the sewage system.

"Well. I don't want to wait around for the thing to find us. I'd rather we find it." Jenny smiled as the Winchester brothers nodded in agreement, the three starting to wander deeper into the sewers.

Sam's phone suddenly rang, and he answered it. "This is Sam. We're near Zack's, we're just checking some things out." Sam paused for a moment before he scoffed in confusion. "Why would you do that?"

Dean and Jenny looked at one another before back at Sam, whose eyes went wide. "Bec— we're trying to help. Bec I'm sorry but—" He looked down at his phone, disappointed.

"Let me guess. Rebecca found out we aren't detectives?" Jenny asked as Sam turned to her, and she sucked in a breath.

"I hate to say it, but that's exactly what I'm talkin' about. You lie to your friends because if they knew the real you, they'd be freaked. It's just—it'd be easier if—"

"If I was like you two?" Sam interrupted Dean, and Jenny gave the younger Winchester an odd look.

"The fuck is that supposed to mean?" She glared at Sam for a moment and he just shook his head. Dean sighed, stepping forward.

"Hey, man, like it or not, we are not like other people. But I'll tell you one thing. This whole gig—it ain't without perks." Dean smiled at his brother as he pulled out a gun from behind him, and handed it to Sam. Jenny turned aimed her flashlight behind the two brothers and walked past them.

Jenny pulled out her gun, flicking off its safety as the brothers started following after her.

After a while of walking in silence, Dean finally spoke up. "I think we're getting close to its lair."

"What makes you say that?" Sam asked as he stopped walking, Jenny turning to face the brothers.

"Because there's another puke-inducing pile next to your face." Dean laughed along with Jenny as Sam turned his head, nearly jumping out of his own skin.

"Oh, god!" He yelled in disgust as Jenny turned back around, walking down further. She aimed her flashlight around, finding a pile of clothes i. a corner.

"It's probably been living down here for a while." She suggested as the boys walked up next to her. The two started walking forward as Jenny aimed the flashlight around, avoiding getting a dribble of water on her.

"Who knows how many murders he's gotten away with?" Sam asked in a low voice and turned around, his eyes widening. "Dean!"

Jenny spun around as she noticed the shifter was right behind Dean. The older Winchester turned around just to be slammed in the face and fall down, most likely busting his arm.

Jenny shot at the shifter, grazing it's arm as it ran off. Sam shit at it a few times, Jenny running towards Dean.

"You alright?" She asked in a quick voice as he rubbed his cheek, waving her off.

"Just get the son of a bitch!" He yelled, standing up. The trio ran off after the shifter, following it up the manhole.

"Split up. Cover more ground." Dean ordered before running off. Jenny ran with Sam, the two pocketing their guns to not scare anyone to the point they called the cops.

"I'm going to head back to the car. Get some more bullets. You find Dean." Sam patted Jenny's shoulder, the two parting ways for the time being.

After a few short moments of being alone, Jenny finally found Dean, running over to him. "Hey!"

Dean spun around quickly, walking over. "Anything?" He asked as she shook her head.

"No. Sam is back at the car. Figured you might already be there or still searching." Dean nodded, raising his arms out.

"Well, here I am. You got the keys?" Jenny paused to look at Dean, who raised a brow at her.

"No... You gave them to Sam." Dean nodded quickly, starting to walk in front of her. Jenny stayed out for a moment, waiting for Dean to realize. Once he did, he turned to face her.

"Jennifer?" He frowned, her expression didn't change. "You alright?"

The girl nodded. "Yeah. I'm fine." Dean turned back around to walk, Jenny pulled her gun out, cocking it with a loud click. "Don't. Move."

Dean froze, turning back around. "What the hell are you doing?" He asked as she stepped forward. "Jennifer—"

"Where is he?" She asked in a low voice, and Dean frowned.

"Jennifer chill. It's me." She shook her head quickly, steadying her aim.

"No it's not. Where the hell is Dean?" He chuckled nervously, shrugging.

"You're about to shoot him. Jennifer come on. Calm down."

"Dean only calls me Jennifer when he's scared I'm in danger. You're not Dean." Jenny took another step forward as the shapeshifter did.

"Pull the trigger then. If you're not sure. Jen, you know me." He gave her a pleading look, Jenny freezing in her spot. Now she actually wasn't sure. If she pulled the trigger, maybe she would kill the real Dean.

Before she could think of anything else, the shapeshifter slammed something into Jenny's head, and knocked her out.

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Jenny groaned in pain as she started to wake up, lifting her head slowly. "Dean—" She whispered, squinting. "Sammy?" She called out, noticing he was with her as well, slowly waking up from unconsciousness.

"Jenny?" Sam woke up quickly at the sound of her voice, turning to her with wide eyes. "Where is he? Where's Dean?"

Jenny shook her head before whipping it around at the sound of Dean's chuckle. Only thing was... It wasn't Dean.

"I wouldn't worry about him. I'd worry about yourselves." The shapeshifter walked forward, Jenny scrambling to press herself against whatever she was tied up to as the shifter stalked towards her. An evil grin was on his face.

"Where is he?" Sam asked again as the shifter turned to the younger Winchester.

"You don't really wanna know." He chuckled, pacing slowly. "I swear, the more I learn about you and your family... and Jenny right here." The shapeshifter turned to Jenny, who looked away from him. "I  thought I came from a bad background."

"What do you mean, learn?" Sam asked as the shifter paused, suddenly grabbing his head in pain. Sam and Jenny shared a nervous look, the girls eyes widening.

"You're gaining Dean's memories." She whispered as the shifter relaxed, standing up again.

"Yes... And wow he has a lot of memories with you, Jenny-dear." The shifter crouched down close to her, tilting his head mischievously. "Of course... All of those memories are fantasies." He snickered as Jenny's eyes flashed over to Sam, then back at the shifter posing as Dean.

The shifter turned to Sam, standing up. "He's sure got issues with you. You got to go to college. He had to stay home. I mean, I had to stay home. With Dad. You don't think I had dreams of my own? But Dad needed me. Where the hell were you?"

"Where the hell is my brother?" Sam asked again as the shifter walked closer to him.

"I am your brother. See, deep down, I'm just jealous. You got friends. You could have a life. Me? I know I'm a freak. And sooner or later, everybody's gonna leave me. Well..." The shifter turned to Jenny, who stared at him with giant eyes. "I know Jenny would never leave me. Not on purpose."

"Go to hell." The brunette spat, fumbling with the rope that tied her wrists together. The shifter laughed, walking back over to Jenny. She sucked in a sharp breath as he knelt down next to her, pushing a strand of hair out of her face.

"You don't even understand the thoughts that run through this guys head, Jennifer." He chuckled. She stared at the ground, breathing sharply. Sam grimaced at the shifter's words, attempting to get out of his own restraints. "All the things he wants to do with you. He'd rather live a normal life with you than do what you guys do."

She turned to face the shifter, who was so close to her she could feel it's breath hitting her cheek. He hummed, shrugging.

"But... You seem to ignore it when he goes after other girls. He does it to see what you'll do. Hoping you might finally say something because he's too scared to do it. Thinks that if he says something, you'll leave him just like everyone else." Jenny looked away again as the shifter stood up. "Maybe he'll go after little Becky next. Let's see what you do then."

The shifter threw a sheet over Sam and Jenny then walked away, leaving the two alone. "Jenny?" Sam whispered after hearing her sniffle.

She fell silent for a moment, wiggling in her restraints. "I'm fine. We need to find Dean." Sam just listened her struggle to undo her restraints, resting her head on the support beam she was tied to.

After a while of struggling, Sam let out an annoyed groan. "Damn it." He spat, wiggling his arms.

Jenny paused at the sound of shuffling, then a cough. "That better be you, Sam. And not that freak of nature!" Jenny whipped her head all around at the sound of Dean's voice, despite the fact she couldn't see shit.

"I'm here, too, you know." She spoke up as Dean threw the sheet off of Jenny, kneeling in front of her. "He went to Rebecca's." She spoke quietly as Dean leaned over, untying her. Jenny stood frozen for a moment, eyes locked onto Dean. "Looking like you."

"Well, at least he picked the handsome brother." Dean looked at her and smiled. When she didn't return it, he frowned. "What?" Jenny shook her head, standing up slowly.

"Nothing." She walked away and towards Sam, taking the sheet off and undid his restraints. Sam gave Jenny a single look, and she simply shook her head. Dean raised a brow at the two.

"What the hell did I miss?"

"Dean. He was becoming you." Sam started as his brother frowned in confusion. Jenny looked over at the older Winchester, his confusion still clear.

"What?"

"I don't know, it was like he was downloading your thoughts and memories." Jenny watched as Dean's eyes suddenly widened with realization, slowly looking at the girl.

"Oh."

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Jenny, Sam and Dean ran through the streets on their way to Rebecca's house, skidding to a halt in front of a corner store. The news was playing, and the three turned to it with a worried glance.

"An anonymous tip led police to a home in the Central West End, where a S.W.A.T team discovered a local woman bound and gagged. Her attacker, a white male, approximately twenty-four to thirty years of age, was discovered hiding in her home." The reporter said as a sketch of a poorly drawn Dean appeared on screen. He groaned in disappointment.

"Man! That's not even a good picture." He complained as Sam looked around cautiously.

"It's good enough." The three started walking again, Jenny falling behind as the two talked. Her mind was racing with different thoughts, mainly about what the shifter had told her.

He really thinks of me that way? She thought to herself, looking at the back of Dean's head, who was talking incoherently with his brother. Maybe the shifter was faking it to mess with me. Dean would have said something by now... Right?

"Jenny." Jenny's eyes snapped over to Sam, who was once again giving her the look he had given her in the sewer.

"Uh... I have silver bullets in my duffel bag. But it's in the Impala." She said, crossing her arms.

Dean shook his head, clearly upset over something. "The thought of him driving my car." Sam and Jenny turned to him with a frown. "It's killin' me."

"Let it go." Sam sighed, the three continued on. Dean waiting until Jenny was walking next to him, looking at her.

"What did he tell you?" He asked as she looked at him before down at the ground, shook her head and shrugged.

"Nothing important." Dean gave her a disappointed look.

"Really? Because you haven't looked me in the eyes since before I saved your ass." He pointed out as she hummed, nodding.

"Well... Then maybe he told me something you didn't want me to know." She walked a little faster to catch up with Sam, leaving Dean in confusion.

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

After getting enough weapons for one another, Dean had forced Jenny to tag along with him and go back to the sewers.

"It's not really helpful if you aren't going to talk to me, Jen." Dean whispered as the girl hummed, turning on her flashlight.

"Well, it can wait." She replied, noticing movement coming from under a sheet. "Dean."

The man looked over, walking towards the sheet and ripped it off. "Rebecca?" The two hunter's spoke in unison. Jenny walked over quickly, untying Rebecca.

"What happened?" Dean asked as Jenny faced the blonde, who had even more tears staining her cheeks. "I was walking home, and everything just went white. Someone hit me over the head, and I wound up here just in time to see that thing turn into me. I don't know, how is that even possible?" She cried as Jenny finally looked at Dean, a worried expression on her face.

"Can you walk?" Jenny asked, helping Rebecca stand. "We need to get to Sam."

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Rebecca, Jenny and Dean snuck around the blonde's neighborhood, Dean careful to walk around as squad cars were parked everywhere, cops all walking around.

The brunette girl pulled out her gun, flicking off the safety as she and Dean walked into Rebecca's house, hearing commotion coming from upstairs, no doubt Sam and the shifter fighting.

The two hunters ran up, spitting the shifter, dressed as Dean, looking over the younger Winchester.

"Hey!" Dean yelled, catching the shifter's attention. Dean and Jenny raised their guns, shooting the shifter directly into the heart, watching it fall down. Rebecca appeared soon after, running over to Sam as Jenny slowly walked towards the shifter, kneeling down.

She yanked off the necklace around its neck and stood up, looking at Dean. "I believe this is yours." She handed it to him, to which he nodded.

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Jenny, Dean and Sam waved goodbye to Rebecca as they all got into the Impala, driving off. "Is, what about your friend Zack?" Dean started as Sam cleared his throat, Jenny pulling out her phone.

"Cops are blamin' this Dean Winchester guy for Emily's murder. They found the murder weapon in the guy's lair, Zack's clothes stained with her blood. Now they're thinking maybe the surveillance tape was tampered with. Yeah... Becca says Zack will be released soon."

"Good to hear her brother will be okay." Jenny spoke up, then turned to Dean. "Sorry you're dead." She smiled as he looked at her through the rear view mirror with a soft glare.

"Well... How many times am I going to see my own funeral?" Dean smirked as Jenny chuckled softly, leaning back in her seat.

As she opened Tetris, her eyes kept landing in Dean, her gut spinning cartwheels as she remembered what the shifter had told her.

She shook her head as the theme song started to play, ignoring his words as just another monster trying to get into her head.

Ahaha i bet you guys thought they'd talk about it. NOPE! I'm going to be making this as long of a slow burn as I can handle. (and since we just finished episode six of twenty-two... you might wait a while.)
do not fret, tho. there will still be potential smut... Just not with Jenny and Dean together. BUT IT WILL HAPPEN I SWEAR.
