I rode on Adine's back. As we were on our way to our house, I looked below and saw someone else familiar. A pink striped velociraptor. With horns and...wait, is that..? 

Ethan: Hey Adine, let's land for now. 

Adine: Oh, okie! Need to stretch your legs? 

Ethan: Uh, yeah! 

Adine landed gracefully. I hopped off to get a closer look. Is that...Anna? 

Ethan: Hey Anna! 

She smirked as she turned to face me. She was the way I remembered her, but her lower body was...robotic. And she now had a cyborg eye. 

Anna: Well well well. If it isn't my old human "friend". 

Ethan: And if it isn't the queen of complaining. Still got the attitude huh? Some things never change. 

Anna: Heh, anyone else that would tease me like that would get vaporized. But  you're the exception. I took a liking to you, you know. 

Adine: Vaporized?! Such a harsh word! 

Anna: Oh, and I see Adine took a liking to you too. The waitress that's so nice all the time...

Ethan: Of course. Adine and I just clicked. We really hit it off. We got along so well because we're so nice to each other. 

Anna: Now you are making me jealous, my old human "friend". What other tricks do you have up your sleeve? 

Ethan: I do have questions. Why are you half cyborg? I thought you were dead...

Anna: Yeah I was. But the technology in this human world cured my cancer and brought me back. But with a cost. It's not so bad though. I like my cyborg eye the most. You should see what it does. 

Anna had an evil grin on her face when she said that. 

Ethan: Uh...maybe later Anna. 

Anna: Heh, I could be mischievous if I want. But today's a good day. So what were you and Adine up to? 

Ethan: We just had a date at the coffee shop. Saw Zhong there too. He tried to plant the idea in our heads of a coffee drinking contest. 

Anna: Pfft. After that drinking contest you had with Bryce? You wouldn't last. 

Ethan: Hey how do you know about that? 

Anna: I eavesdropped. Or let's say little birdies told me. 

Adine: I think the drinking story is funny too! Hee hee! 

Ethan: Not you too Adine. 

Adine: Sorry! Anyway as for me, I might join the air force in the army! 

Anna: Ohh, the army? I was thinking of joining the army too. I'm a formidable force! You should see my gadgets and weaponry! 

Ethan: Boy, bragging and boasting as usual, Anna? 

Anna: You know I'm better than you at everything. You couldn't beat me  in a children's trivia card game! 

Ethan: Yeah, yeah. Anyway, what are we standing around for? Let's do something fun. 

Anna: As long as I choose the activity. You're all in whether you like it or not. 

I gulped at those words. I knew Anna. She liked to do naughty things. We started walking. But suddenly, a group of humans wielding rifles ambushed us! 

Human: We want that robot dragon! I bet she's worth lots of money! 

Adine: Ugh! Why are you ambushing us like this?! We won't let you just take her! 

Another human: I also want that yellow one! Let's sell her! 

Adine: Hey I'm not for sale! 

Anna: Neither am I! 

Anna growled and hissed as she pushed her arms out at them, a retractable turret gun coming out of each arm. She fired bullet streams, wounding and disarming half of them. 

Anna: That's my warning! Leave or I'll use worse weaponry! 

Human: Why don't you try us?! 

I was interested in what Anna had to offer. I've seen guns before. It's nothing new. I waited to see what trick Anna had up her scaly sleeves. She stared at another human, this time a red laser shooting out of her cyborg eye, zapping and vaporizing the human. At that, the other humans got scared and ran off. Adine and I looked at each other while Anna just laughed. 

Anna: Boy, the moment you do something out of the ordinary they get scared! 

Adine: I've never seen a laser do that... 

Anna: Yeah it's advanced technology! Scares them to death! 

She showed off the turret gadgets she used earlier. 

Anna: And these are just a couple of many gadgets. 

Ethan: Show off...

Adine: Yeah, show off! 

Anna just grumbled. 

Anna: Party poopers. Say, I wonder who those guys were anyway. You don't suppose your old boss Bryce may have a clue? 

Ethan: Surely he does. He IS the police after all. 

Adine: I'm so scared Ethan... 

Anna: Scaredy cat! If you had my armor and gadgets you wouldn't be! 

Ethan: Hey knock it off Anna! Let's all just go on a detour and find Bryce. We can't afford to squabble. 

Anna: Oi...the things I do for humans. Alright. Let's go get this over with. 

With that, the three of us went on our way. Who were those mysterious group of humans? I had so many questions. I wonder why they wanted to sell my dragon friends so badly. At any rate, I hoped to get answers from the police. The only police I knew...
