My name's Ethan. It's been a year since my colleague Reza and I were sent to the world of dragons as ambassadors. But as I got used to the world and got to know the dragons, I knew Reza was up to no good. With the help of the administrator and time traveling, we managed to stop Reza once and for all. And to save the dragons, we had the dragons travel to the human world to coexist with us. 

I missed my friends. I wondered where they were. But most of all, I missed Adine. She was very sweet and silly. I was annoyed with her at times, but she was sweet when I played along with her. She was my best friend. Now let me think. Considering she once had the desire to be in a flying competition, where would she be? 

I looked up in the sky to see airplane flying through the sky at high speed. Then it hit me. The air force! Perhaps she was brave enough to put in an application! I quickly got in my car and drove to the air force building to see if she was there. When I parked and got out, I saw a familiar yellow pterodactyl-like dragon exiting the building. I raised my hand and called out to her...

Ethan: Adine! 

Did she notice me? She didn't seem to flinch. But then all of a sudden, she gasped and ran up to me. 

Adine: Ethan?! Is that you?! 

Ethan: Yes it's me! I missed you so much! I've been looking all over for you! 

Adine: I'm sorry Ethan. I've been so busy with air force training! I just completed it! 

Ethan: Congratulations! But isn't it scary to be a solider? 

Adine: Sure it is. But I would do anything to protect the human world. I would give my life for it. But most of all, I'd give my life for you...

She remembered me! I was surprised, but I was happy nonetheless. 

Ethan: Adine, I-I was hoping to make up for the time we've been away from each other. 

Adine: You mean, a date? 

I saw her beam. Oh no, she's making me blush! 

Ethan: Y-yeah, another date! Just the two of us! 

Adine: I'd love to! I know the perfect place! Get on my saddle!

I grunted as I climbed on her back, getting seated in the saddle. 

Adine: Hold on tight Ethan! 

I held on tightly as she took off. It felt incredible to ride on a dragon for the first time. I could see the entire city from up here! Then she gently landed, in front of a Starbucks Coffee. When I peered through the window, I saw another familiar face. It was a green dragon with a white belly. It was none other than Zhong, who used to work at the store and the bar in dragon world! 

Adine: Here we are! 

Ethan: Thanks for the lift Adine! 

I got off Adine and followed Adine inside. 

Zhong: Good to see you again Adine. What can I get you and your human companion? 

Anna: Two coffees please. 

Coffee? I wasn't sure I was in the mood for that today. 

Ethan: no, no, I want cocoa today. Not in the mood for coffee. 

Zhong: Certainly. Your coffee and cocoa are coming right up

I really wanted to see if Zhong recognized me too. But he was too busy working. I wanted to get his attention. But I couldn't keep Adine waiting. She led me to a table and I sat opposite from her. 

Ethan: So how have you been liking the human world? 

Adine: It's interesting to say the least. All the technology is similar to what we had in dragon world. And you have some...interesting entertainment...

She sounded displeased when she said that. 

Ethan: What do you mean? 

Adine: I mean that a lot of the books, movies, and video games here...they're all about slaying dragons because they're monsters...

I sighed. I didn't deny that. But I loved dragons. I wouldn't dream of slaying one. 

Ethan: I know. But remember, in dragon world, your entertainment wasn't nice to humans either. 

Adine: Yeah, I know...

That's when I remembered something. We did come out with movies that have been nice to dragons not too long ago. 

Ethan: You know Adine, I just remembered, there are a few good dragon movies. 

Adine: Like what, dear? 

Ethan: Well first, there's an older one called Dragonheart. But more recently, there's also "How to Train Your Dragon". And it also has a sequel. 

She smiled in delight at the names of those films. 

Adine: You don't suppose we could watch them? Do you have them? 

Ethan: Absolutely! I've been collecting all the dragon films and I have all the good ones. How about after we have coffee, we go to my house and watch them?

Adine: That sounds delightful! 

I saw Zhong finally return with our cocoa and coffee. 

Zhong: Here you go. Enjoy. 

I decided to speak up to see if I could get his attention. I wanted to see if he recognized me. 

Ethan: Hey, Zhong! 

Zhong flinched in surprised, looking back at me. 

Zhong: How did you know my name? 

Ethan: It's me, Ethan. Do you recognize me? From the bar? 

Zhong thought for a bit. Then he smiled a little bit. I hoped I jogged his memory a little. 

Zhong: The same Ethan that had a drinking contest with Bryce? And you two got drunk together? 

Adine: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! 

I felt so embarrassed. I can't believe he remembered. Adine's laughter only made it worse. I couldn't help but blush. 

Ethan: Yes...the same Ethan. I regret letting him talk me into that...even Bryce agreed afterwards it was a stupid idea. 

Zhong chuckled. 

Zhong: Well you know, it was pretty funny. I'll never forget it. I'm sure it was a good memory for you anyway. It's how you and Bryce got closer together. 

Ethan: That's true. He was the best boss I ever had. 

Adine: Hey Ethan, maybe we should have a coffee drinking contest! See who can get the most jittery! 

Oh no, she was getting ideas! 

Ethan: No way! Not after what happened with Bryce! 

Adine: But it's coffee! Not beer! 

Ethan: Still, who knows what could happen? It could be ugly...

Zhong: Now now children, don't argue. Anyways, I gotta get back to work. See you around, Ethan. 

Ethan: Bye Zhong! It was good to see you. 

I looked back at Adine. 

Ethan: Now where were we? 

Adine: We were talking about movies. 

Ethan: Right. But I want to talk about something else now. Did you want to bring up anything? 

Adine: Yes. What are your religions here in the human world? 

Ethan: Well, the main one is Christianity. And there are many forms of it. I'm Lutheran. And I go to church. I'll explain later since it's a lot to talk about. 

Adine: Have you always been Luther? Whatever that is? 

Ethan: Not always. My first religion was Judaism, from my parents. Then I chose to become an Evangelical Christian. But I took a hiatus from church by going to the dragon world. And when I came back here, my old church wasn't the same anymore. So I changed denominations. It's a long story...

Adine: I see. Time changes everything. 

Ethan: Yeah. I'll explain all of it when we go to my house. 

With that, we finished our coffee and cocoa, and looked back at each other. 

Adine: Well, I'll take you to your house! Just make sure to point me in the right direction! 

Ethan: Will do! 

With that, I hopped on the saddle again. As Adine took off, I told her which ways to go. It was great to see Adine again. I only hoped our date would get better from here. And I wonder how many more of my old friends recognize me. I miss them too. Only time will tell...
