He stood on his knees before the council, hands tied behind his back, hair matted to his face, tears in his sea green eyes, a confused look on his face.
"We have come to the decision that Perseus is guilty. He will be sent to Tartarus for as long as needed. Any last words boy?" Zeus thundered.
"What in the name of my dear uncle are you talking about? I would never hurt Hazel much less kill her! My fatal flaw is loyalty. Dad? You believe me right? What about you Annabeth? Please someone has to believe me!" He cried out. Tears spilled down his tan cheeks as no one dared to defend him. Realizing what everyone's choices were he stopped struggling and stopped crying. He smiled and looked at everyone. "So this is how the great council treats their heroes. Well it's cliche because every superhero story ends like this sooner or later. The guy gets the girl and happily ever after till one day. Tragedy strikes and the hero is blamed. The girl leaves disgusted and the rest of the world starts hating the hero for a crime he didn't commit. I will warn you. Listen carefully. There will come a day when you are all in a war and I won't be there to save you. I will crawl out of the pit. But it won't be me. And Annabeth. Oh my sweet Annabeth. I will wear the ring I made with the help of a few people, every day. It will remind me that one person that I thought would care enough about me to put her pride away and help me, was a fake. A lier. And let me tell you all. I will not forget this but all of you will regret it. But when you want to apologize. It will be to late." The boy had a twisted smile on his face before a blue light covered him making him disappear.
"Will we regret it Zeus?" Annabeth asked quietly.
"Never child. He murdered a fellow friend and for that he must pay. Council dismissed."
