You have been in America this whole time. You are actually a veteran that is suffering from PTSD.

Your PTSD was triggered when you and your family moved into a new home in a new city, that is why none of your surroundings looked familiar.

The new neighborhood you were in was going under reconstruction and the equipment going off early in the morning is what triggered your PTSD.

Jennings was not actually Jennings, rather they were your spouse, and the kid that you thought had a bomb, was your son holding his teddy bear.

If you killed your son in the beginning, you were sent to prison for life. You were not visited by your family and when you received news that you, suffering from PTSD, had accidentally on purpose killed your son, you managed to hang yourself in your jail cell with toilet paper.

If you did not kill your son, but killed others, you pleaded insanity and were sentenced to life in a psychiatric ward, but regularly receive letters and monthly visits from your family. You also see a therapist and take meds.

If you did not kill anyone, you are sent to a mental hospital and after 5 years from treatment you get to go home under the agreement that you see a therapist once a week and take daily medication. Through this, your family has been very supportive and you return back to normal life.

People you could have killed

The little boy: He was your son holding a teddy bear.

Sewer guy: He was a city worker trying to fix some busted pipes.

The two men in black: they were police officers your spouse had called.

Man with the gun: was just someone trying to mug you. They obviously failed.

The girl from the park: she was out for a run, and stopped to throw away some trash that people had littered

The group of men at the end: they were FBI agents. You were able to kill two of them before one of them killed you.

Fight or Flight?

If most of your decisions were to runaway, and avoid killing, you are more of a flight person. You tend to avoid confrontation and you dont want any problems, just peace. However because of this, you tend to come off as cowardly and like to stick to the stuff you know, rarely trying new and exciting things.

If most of your decisions were to fight and kill, you are more of a fight person. You tend to speak up and go out and try new things. You are brave and probably a leader that people look up to. However you may not think things all the way through and make rash decisions without considering all the consequences.

Challenge: reread the story, but make decisions as a character from a book you wrote! If you comment you choices in this challenge, your story will receive a shoutout!

I know this scenario is pretty unrealistic, but that is just to emphasize what a lot of people have to go through in order to protect and defend the place that they represent. Make sure you thank and appreciate the people who fight for your country. Not only do they suffer physical wounds but mental as well.

If you like this style story, stay tuned for my next project Murder, Murder where your goal is to help Kayla and Megan get away with murder!

I love you all!
