Amaya's POV

I woke up with a throbbing headache. I opened my eyes only to close them because of the sunlight. I blinked a few times before taking my surroundings. I wasn't definitely at home. Especially not my room! What the heck?

Then everything came flooding in my mind... the call... dad's betrayal... me running away... men following... that handsome guy in the forest! Isn't he the one who brought me here by the way?

I jumped out of the bed and tried to open the door of the room but it was locked. I opened the rest of the doors which were of the bathroom and the walk-in closet.

I tried to open a window which faced the forest. I wasn't opening so I did what came first in my mind. I took a chair and smashed the window into pieces before jumping outside. As I was 'Usain Bolt' of the family, I ran pretty fast. I ran to the forest as fastest as I could.

I kept running and running till I got lost. I didn't know where I was. I ran left and right and vice versa only to... return to the place I ran from. Oh shit! I didn't just come back here! But before I could turn back to run again, a husky voice warned...

"DO THAT ONCE AGAIN AND I KILL YOUR FATHER AND YOUR FRIEND!" I stopped right in my track. Tears came in my eyes as I thought of Rachel. I hated my father but to the point that I wanted him to die?

I whimpered and started sobbing and crying. I sat on the ground and pulled my legs to my chest and continued crying. Then I felt two arms wrapped around me which caused me to flinch away from the contact.

I looked up to the person but I could not see his face again properly due to the blur caused by the tears in my eyes. "Don't you ever run away from me and never separate me from you, is that clear?" I continued sobbing and didn't answer him. I was too scared to answer.

"IS THAT CLEAR?" He yelled a bit louder than needed which caused me to nod my head up and down swiftly. He wrapped his arms again around me. I jumped a little at the contact but not to noticeable. I'm not sure he noticed.

He lifted me in bridal style and stared at my face for a few minutes. Is it just me or his eyes lingered on my lips for a few seconds before meeting my eyes again. "let's go!" he told and took me back in the house or should I say... mansion?
