2. The truth
I feel my body lifting from the cold surface. I start to scuffle as hard as I can, but he only tightens his grip on my body. Suddenly, he tosses me feeling myself descend making me muffle a scream.
Another man catches me, chuckling at my fright. I struggle in his arms as he throws me on a smooth surface hearing water splash nearby. I start to hear the muffles of the girls again.
The black bag is taken off and I squint from the bright white shimmering around me. I frantically look around seeing the other girls look at me in devastation.
I see many men surround us with masks covering their identities with rifles in their hands.
We were on a fishing vessel that reeked of sea salt combined with fish. It was still dark out and the rest of the men load the last girl onto the ship. "Let's go." The man signals the driver of the ship.
I count the girls surrounding me and there were twenty in total.
What is this?
Where are they taking us?
"The boss is going to be so happy we might just get a raise." I hear the man next to me say speaking to his partner who was standing inches away from the girl in front of me.
My hands became light pink from the cold I couldn't feel them anymore. We were all shaking from the frozen winds of the sea. The ship starts to move away from the docks making the city become small from distance.
"What you think? Which one you're going to want after we reach the trap house?" The man next to me asks his partner in a grin.
"That one over there." He points at an Asian girl next to me. The girl only shakes her head muffling a cry as tears roll down her cheeks. The men only chuckle looking at her.
Another hour passes looking up at the sky seeing the darkness fade slowly. The ship stops moving and the men start to stand us up one by one removing our shackles from our ankles.
"Time to walk, ladies!" The man next to me shouts pushing me forward out of the ship. We walk in a line into a warehouse far away from the city, who knows where we were. There was only a warehouse far away from society.
The warehouse was huge from the inside and it reeked of cigar and alcohol. I walk in front of a mid aged woman in an elegant grey dress who grabbed me and sat me down on a chair.
"Let me take a good look at you." She smiles ripping off the tape from my mouth making me wince from the pain.
"P-please help." I whimper as she put her index finger on my mouth.
"Shhh, shhh." She whispers taking out a red lipstick from her purse and rubs it on my lips. "You have to look presentable for our customers." She grins pushing me off the chair for the next girl to sit.

POLICE STATION
"Detective Gordon, I have something for you to look at." A police officer hands him a DVD. "It just came in."
The detective grabs the DVD and puts it in the laptop watching a footage of a surveillance camera catching a man in a mask abduct a girl.
"This is the 120th girl to be abducted in the states." Detective Gordon holds onto the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Cole!" He shouts.
A man in a black trench coat walks towards him looking at the footage. "Zoom in on the girl's face, I want to know who she is and where she lives." Gordon demands.
"Right." Cole nods zooming in on the girl's face waiting for the laptop to identity the girl.
Twenty minutes pass and Cole prints out the profile. "Aye, Gordon check it. Her name is Ariel Reed, age 19." He hands the papers to him. "Red hair and hazel eyes." Cole adds.
"She lives with her brother Jordan Reed." Gordon looks at her profile and looks at Cole. "Any leads on the culprit?"
"None." He shrugs.
Detective Gordon takes out his cell phone and calls his partner. "Meet me at 10th River Avenue."

All of us were assigned a room to sleep in there were no doors for privacy, no windows either. "You! Get your ass in there!" The masked man pulls me out of line throwing me into the room.
I fall on the cold ground scrapping my elbow to break the fall from hitting my face. I look back at him walking towards me taking off the cuffs from my wrists revealing two purple marks.
The man leaves with the rest of the girls. "Charming isn't he?" I hear a feminine voice say. I look back seeing a woman laying on the bed smoking a cigarette.
Her eyes were filled with deep dark circles around them she was paler than anybody I ever seen before. She had short blonde hair that was tangles in knots and messy. She wore only a black sweater and grey pants stained in red.
"Yeeaah, I know I look like shit. Everybody in here does and soon you will too." She put the cigarette in her mouth inhaling the smoke.
I walk towards her slowly looking around the tiny room spotting my bed next to hers. "What is this place?" I ask in a whisper keeping my voice down hearing the men walk by our room.
She shrugs exhaling the smoke from her nose. "beats me." She points at the bed a few feet away from her. "Make yourself comfortable." She says with no expression on her face.
I sit on the bed that made a squeaky sound. "The names Sam." She taps the cigarette with her index finger.
"Ariel." I whisper rubbing my hands together trying to keep myself warm. "Aren't you cold?"
Sam nods her head. "Here's the deal kid. You do as you're told here, no questions asked. They want to shove a bottle up your ass you let them." Her tone was firm making me understand that she wasn't kidding.
"And if I don't?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Let's no think about an "if." You do as you're told period." She digs the cigarette on the cement wall putting it out.
I look at the markings on the wall next to her bed they were tally marks that filled the whole wall from beginning to end. "H-how long have you been here?" I widen my eyes at the amount of marks.
" Two years." Her eyes lower to the ground hearing her voice tremble.

"What is it now Logan Gordon?" Philip asks laying his body on the car door crossing his arms.
"We got another one missing." Detective Gordon says looking at the building they were going in.
"Shit." Philip shakes his head. "Alright, let's go." Philip walks into the building.
The detectives take the elevator to the fourth floor walking to the apartment number 4B. Logan knocks on the door waiting for Ariel's brother to open the door. There's footstep approaching the door from the inside unlocking it.
"Can I help you?" Jordan scratches his head looking at the detectives.
"Good morning, I'm detective Gordon and this is detective Ross." Logan says showing his F.B.I badge to him while Philip did the same.
"Okaaay?" Jordan lays his body on the wall. "What do you want?"
"We're sorry to tell you this, but your sister has been abducted." Philip says.
"A-abducted?" Jordan's eyes widen. "No, no, no." He holds his forehead.
"May we come in?"Logan asks glancing inside the apartment.
"Yeah sure." Jordan opens the door wider letting them pass. The detectives look around the place sitting on the couch. "My sister and I live alone ever since our parents died in a car crash." Jordan walks to the kitchen opening the fridge getting a bottle of beer.
"Tell us, how do you earn a living?" Philip frowns at Jordan eyeing him from the living room.
Jordan opens the bottle walking back into the living room. "What does that have to do with my sister's disappearance?"
"Records don't show any employment you have or had in the past. So you must be earning a living somehow." Logan folds his hands.
"Meaning, you're doing some illegal shit." Philip eyes Jordan with a fake smile.
Jordan chugs down the beer feeling his heart beat pump faster. "Fine. Yeah. I work doing something illegal." He sighs.
"I'll tell you what you tell us what your dirty job is and we'll turn a blind eye after we leave, hm?" Philip gets up from the couch.
Jordan sighs heavily having no choice in the matter. "I'm a drug dealer, I get paid for how many clients buy from me and I give a fair share to my boss. It gets us by just fine, but recently I haven't had much luck getting buyers that's why we're two months past due for rent." Jordan throws away the bottle in the trash bin.
"How about your sister? is she in on this too?" Logan gets up from the couch walking to the table where a picture frame was.
"She had no clue what I was doing. At night she went for an interview at a hotel while I went to work at 7:30 P.M." Jordan slaps his hands to his sides. "And that's the last I saw or heard from her."
"We found some footage of Ariel being abducted we think she's related to the other 119 girls that have gone missing without a trace." Philip walks to the front door waiting for his partner to follow.
Jordan shakes his head rubbing his forehead. "Why are they taking so many women?"
"We believe it has to deal with sex trafficking." Logan looks at the family picture of Ariel, Jordan and their parents walking towards the door.
"Jesus." Jordan shuts his eyes tightly holding back his tears.
"Well, we'll call you if anything comes up." Philip says opening the front door heading outside to the hallway.
"Detectives!" Jordan yells. They look back at the twenty one year old man waiting for a response. "You find those sons of bitches and put a bullet in their heads if you need to." He angrily says as a tear rolls down his right cheek. The detectives only nod walking into the elevator disappearing as if they were never there.
