short filler chapter.
"Yesterday you couldn't get away from me fast enough and now you want to walk me to my locker?" I asked as we walked down the hall.
Todoroki looked off to the side. "I told you, I just wasn't feeling well."
I nodded sarcastically at his obvious lie. "Totally wasn't me."
He looked over at me with such a genuinely confused look, I almost felt bad. "You don't believe me?"
"Not necessarily."
"Why not?"
I sighed as we made it to my locker. "Just... nevermind."
I looked up from putting my combination in only to freeze. "Whoa, are you okay? Your eyes are, like, gold. Yesterday they were almost black."
They were, yesterday his eyes were so dark I just assumed he had dark brown eyes. Not that I spend an abnormal amount of time thinking about his eyes. Today they were a bright yellow color, I've never seen anything like it.
He blinked hard and started moving back. "Oh, um, yeah, it's-it's the... fluorescence. I gotta go, I'm gonna be late."
And then he was gone and I watched his back disappear into the crowd.

When I walked into my house I had completely forgotten about hanging out with Kacchan, but it's hard to forget when he's laughing with my dad in our kitchen.
"Hey." I awkwardly drawled to catch their attention.
"Hey Iz." My dad said with a strained smile. "Well I'll let you two go do... whatever it is you're going to do."
God, he is just really bad at this whole dad thing.
"C'mon Kacchan." I mumbled and headed for the stairs.
Neither of us said anything until we were safely in my room with the door shut.
"That was painful." Kacchan said as he made himself at home, sitting on my bed.
I rolled my eyes as I set my bag down and sat in my desk chair. "I envy the way you two can have a normal conversation."
The blond in front of me shrugged. "My old man and I have a shit relationship to."
"So you decided to steal mine?"
He froze. "I wasn't- that wasn't what I-"
"I'm kidding." I told him plainly. "I'm sure he'd prefer you as a son anyway."
"You can't seriously think that." He scoffed.
I raised a brow at him. "I'm not exactly the ideal son."
Kacchan rolled his eyes and waved me off. "Hisashi doesn't care about that shit, which you would know if you said more than two words to the guy."
I tilted my head and narrowed my eyes. "Hisashi? First name biases, really?"
"Oh shut it."
I giggled, "If you aren't trying to steal my dad, then you're trying to date him." I teased.
It earned me an eraser thrown at my nose and a heavily blushing Kacchan.
"Are you into dilfs, Kacchan?"
This time all the erasers on my desk came soaring at me. I fell into a loud bout of laughter.
"My type is short idiots with fluffy green hair and freckles."
Kacchan's words didn't register at first, so I just kept on laughing.
Then it clicked in my brain and I abruptly stopped. We fell into silence, just staring at each other.
"So you are into my dad?"
"Oh my god, no."
I devolved into hysterics at Kacchan's pissed off expression. He really hated being teased.
I made a mental note about it. To use in the future.
The rest of our hang out was pretty uneventful. Kacchan helped me with my math homework. He was actually insanely smart. He told me he skipped a grade, so although he was a year younger than me, we were in the same grade.
After a little bit of homework help and a little bit of bullying from each of us, Kacchan had to head home.
I just got ready for bed after he left seeing as I had another long day at school tomorrow.
