~3~
Upon entering the cafeteria and grabbing my food, I was whisked away to a table by Aoyama. I didn't really mind, seeing as he was the nicest person I had met all day.
When we reached the table I saw that Uraraka and Iida were already sitting there. I guess they were all friends then.
"Hey Midoriya." Uraraka greeted me with a bright smile and a wave. Iida nodded his head in my direction before turning back to talk to a green haired girl that was already sitting with them.
"I'm just saying it would be an interesting story." The girl grumbled.
Uraraka leaned around Iida's shoulder to talk to her directly. "Tsu, this would be the fifth story you've done on frogs. This year."
The girl, Tsu, gasped in offense. "It's better than running another article on space, Ochako."
"Space is infinite and there are a million and one different things I could write about!" Uraraka defended.
Aoyama shot me a playful eye roll before looking back over at the girls. "Just run an article on the freshmen's lack of fashion sense and be done with it."
Both girls were quiet as they looked over at him.
"That could work." Uraraka mumbled to herself. "What'd you think, Midoriya?"
I momentarily froze at being called out. "Oh, um, I don't really know anything about fashion."
Tsu shook her head with a kind smile on her face. "No, she meant the three topic ideas."
I blushed slightly at my misunderstanding. "Uh, why not just... combine your guys' ideas?"
Both girls looked at me in confusion.
"I don't know, write about the probability of a colony of frogs making the journey to Mars or something." I mumbled, pushing around the food on my tray. I could feel all their eyes on me as I spoke and I'm not sure if I've ever been more uncomfortable.
"That's actually a good idea." Tsu commented, nibbling on a carrot.
Uraraka nodded in agreement. "Wanna come over after school to get started on it?"
"Yeah, that works."
Point for me, I guess.
"Iida!" A student called from across the lunch room.
He turned his attention towards them. "I have to go see what this is about, I'll be back." He said before walking away.
Uraraka giggled as he left. "That happens a lot. Students tend to go to him for help over staff, being the class president and all." She explained to me.
"They just don't want to deal with staff and know he'll do it for them." Aoyama pointed out, taking a bite of cheese and then handing me some. I took it with a smile, that stuff was amazing.
"I don't blame them, if the staff here is anything like it was at my old school." I admitted in between bites of cheese.
"It must be universal that school facilities suck." Uraraka said while leaning back into her chair.
I pointed at her as she said that. "Write an article on that."
The other three students laughed at the suggestion.
"It's the school's newspaper." Tsu pointed out.
I shrugged. "All the more reason."
Aoyama nodded his head in agreement with me. "He does have a point."
"Nope," Uraraka spoke up. "I cannot get kicked off of it. I'd lose some of the scholarships I need."
"Oh." I said with a frown. "I didn't even think of that. Sorry."
She shook it off, putting a hand on my arm. "No worries, really! It is a good idea, but one I can't be a part of."
I nodded as the rest of them striked up another conversation. I was kind of zoning out while eating until this group of students entered the cafeteria and a hush seemed to fall over the room.
"Who're they?" I asked as I watched them enter.
"The Aizawas." Tsu said, sitting up a little bit. "At least that's what everyone calls them, they all have different last names tho."
I shot her a confused look at the explanation that just made me even more confused.
"They're Dr. and Mr. Aizawa's foster kids. They moved here from up north a few years ago." Uraraka explained to me.
(Which doesn't make any fucking sense bc they're supposed to be what 16? 17? And you're telling me that they haven't aged since they were at least 14? And no one's noticed that? Are you kidding me? Those are the ages they would hit puberty and DRASTICALLY CHANGE. Sorry, I just have a lot of feelings about this franchise)
"They usually just keep to themselves." Tsu added, trying to subtly look at the entering students and failing completely.
Uraraka nods enthusiastically at her words. "'Cause they're all together, together."
Tsu elbowed the brunette slightly. "It's not like they're actually related."
Even if they are all adopted, I still think it's a little weird.
Uraraka shrugged, leaning forwards towards me. "Okay so the short one with the purple hair? That's Jirou, I advise trying to interact with her as little as possible."
Tsu nodded in agreement. "She's not much of a people person."
I quickly stole a glance at her and the tall black haired girl she was walking with. Jirou did seem a little stone faced and cold. Noted.
"She's with the tall girl next to her, Yaoyorozu." Uraraka continued.
"She's really sweet and nice." Tsu pointed out.
"Oh yeah, and she's insanely smart so if you ever need a tutor." Uraraka said, nodding her head at the tall girl as she passed with her girlfriend.
Once again, noted.
"Next is Shinsou and Kaminari. If you think Jirou is intimidating, you're not prepared for Shinsou." The brunette explained to me as a lavender haired boy walked in looking like he hadn't slept in ages (ha get it?) accompanied by a bubbly looking blond who seemed to be ranting about something.
"Jirou and Shinsou are the only two that are actually related." Tsu added.
I nodded in understanding, made sense.
"Kaminari is the blond next to Shinsou. How someone that monotone and tired looking can keep up with the energizer bunny that is Denki Kaminari, is beyond me." Uraraka said with wide eyes as she looked back at her tray.
"I have him in my English class and the guy can't sit still for more than one minute before he's changing the way he sits or just standing up altogether." Tsu said, nudging Uraraka who giggled.
"Yeah, and Shinsou can just somehow tune it out like he doesn't even notice."
The two girls started to laugh and have their own conversation, but there was one more student walking in.
He caught my attention even more than the other four had, I mean how could he not? He had two toned hair and a red scar over the left side of his face. Pretty attention getting if you ask me.
"Who is he?" I asked, nodding my head to where the newcomer was.
Uraraka swallowed the piece of food she had in her mouth before answering. "That's Shoto Todoroki, totally gorgeous but completely aloof. Don't waste your time." She said with a knowing glance at me.
I had seen Todoroki faintly smile as Uraraka talked about him, as if he could hear what she was saying about him. I shook off the thought and turned to the girls. "No problem here." I said with a sheepish smile.
Apparently I just radiated gay energy, good to know I guess.
