Yes, Bakugou is going to have long hair for a portion of this book. From what I've gathered from only watching the movies, the wolves in the tribe cut their hair when they start shifting, so yeah he's gonna have long hair until that happens.
In the driveway was an old looking orange truck. My dad was talking to a woman with short blonde hair. Standing next to them and looking like he'd rather be just about anywhere else, was a boy, probably around my age, with the same blond hair as the woman, but his seemed to go all the way down his back.
When I stepped outside, all three of them looked towards me. The woman, and who I assume is her son, had sharp red eyes. The boy had a scowl on his face, but his mother was smiling broadly at me.
"Izuku, right? Wow, you sure have grown." She said, walking over to me and patting the top of my head. "I don't suppose you remember me at all, huh?"
I just awkwardly smiled, shrugging at her. I really didn't remember her, but that's to be expected, seeing as I barely remember my father.
"What about Katsuki?" She asked, nodding her head to the boy next to her, who had finally dropped the smile, but now just seemed bored as he looked me over. "You two were pretty close as kids."
I studied him for a few seconds. There was a vaguely familiar, almost warm, feeling I got from him. Yeah, I definitely knew the kid.
"Kacchan?"
"Of fucking course that's what you remember, god damn nerd." Katsuki said with an eye roll, lightly punching my shoulder.
For the first time since I got on the plane to leave Musutafu, I genuinely smiled.
It was short lived though, when his mom smacked the back of his head. "Language, you damn brat!"
"Hag!" He hissed back.
Hisashi smiled broadly at me, probably the first smile I'd seen from him since I was a kid. "Like your welcome home present?" He asked, patting the side of the truck.
"For me?" I asked, pointing from the truck to myself in disbelief.
"Just bought it off, Mitsuki." He said, nodding at the woman.
Katsuki nodded his head at the hood of the truck. "I totally rebuilt the engine."
I smiled widely at him, slightly bouncing on my feet. Yeah the truck had seen better days, but I actually had a car! I had to borrow my mom's back home, and now I had my own.
"This is so great! Thank you." I said to my dad, and in my excitement hugged him tightly. I hadn't even thought about it before my arms were wrapped around him.
He seemed just as shocked by the action, but before he had time to fully realize what I did, I was already pulling away and heading for the cab of the truck.
Katsuki followed, getting in the passenger side. "So you gotta double pump the clutch when you shift, but other than that you're good." He explained.
"This?" I asked.
Katsuki nodded. "Yeah, you got it."
I looked over at the blond, biting my lip as I worked up the courage to ask, "Hey, do you want a ride to school or something?"
Katsuki moved his hair over one shoulder. "I actually go to school on the reservation."
"Oh." I mumbled awkwardly. "That sucks, it would have been nice to know at least one person."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When the first day of school arrived, I drove myself. I, remarkably, found an empty spot at the very front, which is really weird because I was almost late so one would assume that all the front row parking would be taken but I guess now. (yes I do have a lot of strong feelings about this scene)
There were a few snickers and side comments made about my truck, but I really didn't care. I got a free truck. Beggars can't be choosers kids.
I walked into the school, holding my schedule in hand as I tried to navigate the school. My old school was private, so it was relatively small. Forks High School was public, so there were a lot more kids and it was much bigger, even if it was considered small for a public school.
"Excusez-moi," I heard next to me, causing me to jump slightly. Looking over, I saw a blond haired boy with purple eyes. "You're Izuku Midoriya, yes?"
I nodded as I watched this boy in mild awe. I couldn't help it, he was just so... dazzling? If that makes sense. Plus he had a neat accent.
"Yuga Aoyama, pleasure to meet you, monsieur." He said with a smile, holding his hand out to me.
I gently shook it, feeling out of place next to him.
"I like to consider myself the eyes and ears of this school. Come to me for all your gossip and blackmail needs." Aoyama said with a wink in my direction.
"Got it." I mumbled, sending him a sheepish smile, suddenly feeling like a slide under a microscope.
"Cheese?"
My head shot up at the offer, feeling just a little grossed out as Aoyama handed me a small piece of cheese. I didn't really want it, like at all, but it was my first day and I was desperate for a friend.
I hesitantly grabbed the cheese and took a small nibble, my eyebrows raising in surprise.
"Good, yes?"
"Amazing, actually." I said with a nod as he led me into a classroom.
Aoyama smiled brightly at my answer. "We're going to be great friends."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My classes went by quickly until there was just one left before lunch. Of course it had to be pe though.
The class was split so the girls were playing volleyball and the boys were playing basketball, but when I joined the class, the number of boys became odd. To combat that, the teacher lumped me in with the girls, saying I was small enough to be one or something like that, I wasn't paying attention. The girls were odd before, so with me, they were suddenly even.
Great.
(No I'm not making him the 'uwu soft boy who everyone mistakes for a girl' -trust me no one hates that trope more than me-, I just wanted to write the scene between bella, mike, and jessica and I couldn't do that if Izuku wasn't playing volleyball with the girls so)
I was standing in the back, trying to stay out of the way of the girls who seemed really into this sport, when the ball came right at my face. In an effort to protect myself, I hit it away.
Directly into the back of the head of a tall, blue haired boy.
"I am so sorry! I didn't mean to, I've just never actually played this game before..." I rushed in an apology as the guy moved off the court and over to me.
"Nothing to worry about!" He said with a smile down at me. "Might I suggest working on your aim, though?"
I awkwardly chuckled at his joke, nodding in agreement.
"You're Midoriya, right?" The tall guy asked.
I nodded. "Yeah, that's me." Then I mumbled to myself, "Unfortunately."
"I'm Tenya Iida, class president." He introduced, adjusting his glasses.
There was a high pitched giggle from next to me, grabbing my attention. A short brunette girl was making her way over to us. "He's got a great spike, huh?"
Iida nodded at her.
"I'm Ochako Uraraka, you're Midoriya?" She introduced happily.
Personally, I thought she was a little too preppy and bubbly for a physical education class on a Monday, but who am I to judge?
I nodded while saying "Nice to meet you," in a quiet voice.
I wasn't sure what to say after that, and apparently neither did they. Thankfully we were saved from the small bout of awkward silence when the bell rang, signally the end of class.
Letting out a sigh of relief, I followed the crowd of kids out of the gym and into the cafeteria.
hey guys!!
i've never really written for Aoyama before so the whole french thing is really throwing me off. i'm just using google translate so if anything's weird or wrong, that's why.
