Homecoming
Warning-Feels
"Percy, seriously. No." Nico tries shutting the door for the third time, trying to get his black haired cousin to leave him alone.
"Well, that's too bad. C'mon Nico, it will just be the two of us."
Nico peaked out from behind the door, eyes narrowed. "I don't want to." He whined, shoulders slumping.
"I know. Believe me, I know Nico. It's hard. But for tonight, just, relax."
Nico hesitated. Five days ago, he would have been ecstatic to go out, take his mind off the face that Will was coming home from Iraq. Nico hadn't seen Will in two years! But then Will didn't come home three days ago like he was supposed to. And Nico hadn't stepped out of his apartment in two days.
"Nico, please?"
Nico relented, opening the door. Percy smiled gently, before closing the door behind him and dragging Nico back into the bedroom.
"Shower while I pick out what you're wearing. Also, it's karaoke."
Nico spluttered. "What! No, I'm not do-"
"Yes you are." Percy interrupted, already digging through Nico's drawers.
Nico sighed, knowing the son of Poseidon was as stubborn as he was. Nico closed and locked the bathroom door behind him, yanking his shirt over his head. He glanced at the mirror, and his shoulder's slumped. His eyes had dark bruises under them, his eyes dull and sad. He ran a hand through his for once non shaggy black hair. When he'd thought Will was coming home, he'd gotten a haircut, the sides once again shaved close to his skull, his fringe the perfect length. Nico shook his head, stepping into the shower.
Nico stepped out of the shower, and entered his room his towel hanging low on his hips, showing his sharp hip bones that outlined his v-line, and his once again olive-toned skin shining with water droplets. He brushed his fringe out his his eyes with his right hand, his toned torso rippling.
Percy walked over with a grin, and tapped his shoulder. Nico rolled his eyes, mumbling; "Thank you." as he was now dry. Percy smirked, and walked out of the room to let Nico change. Nico eyes the clothes on the bed warily, before he walked over. Surprisingly, the other boy knew Nico's style. On the bed were a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, *cough, ones Will would have gone crazy for, cough* and a tight button down navy blue shirt.
He quickly changed, and met Percy in the kitchen, where the sea-green eyed boy was helping himself to a glass of water. Not the worst thing he's helped himself to. Nico scanned Percy up and down, taking in the blue jeans and grey button up. He sighed, alerting Percy of his presence.
"Ready?" Percy asked, and Nico nodded slowly.
Nico glared at the bubbling Coke in his hand, slightly annoyed Percy had brought him to a bar, only to not let him drink. Percy was next to him, slowly swaying and occasionally bumping his hip against Nico's, as they listened to the people brave enough to be on stage, sing.
"You should sing." Percy said suddenly.
"Me? No way. No how." I won't say I'm in love
"Yes you! And why not? You're incredible at it!"
Nico scoffed, though he knew it was true. When Will and Nico had first started dating, Will managed to get Nico to sing at the school campfire. But Nico had lost the will to sing. Get it? The WILL to sing? I didn't even realize until I looked back at it!
And yet, somehow, against his wish, Nico found himself up on a stage. He scowled against the bright lights, before sighing. He grabbed the mic, and grumbled out the song.
"Good Grief, Bastille."
Nico stood with his lips pressed together, as the over voice spoke. "So, what would you little maniacs like to do first?"
"Watching through my fingers, watching through my fingers
Shut my eyes and count to ten
It goes in one ear out the other, one ear out the other
Burning bright right till the end
Now you'll be missing from the photographs, missing from the photographs,"
Nico gripped the mic tightly, his nerves jumping as he glanced around the room, trying to ignore the stares.
"Watching through my fingers, watching through my fingers
In my thoughts you're far away
And you are whistling the melody, whistling the melody
Crystallizing clear as day
Oh, I can picture you so easily, picture you so easily
What's gonna be left of the world if you're not in it?
What's gonna be left of the world, oh
Every minute and every hour
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more
Every stumble and each misfire
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more!
Watching through my fingers, watching through my fingers
Caught off guard by your favorite song
I'll be dancing at a funeral, dancing at a funeral
Sleeping in the clothes you love
It's such a shame we had to see them burn, shame we had to see them burn
What's gonna be left of the world if you're not in it?
What's gonna be left of the world, oh
Every minute and every hour
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more
Every stumble and each misfire
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more"
Nico was quiet again, as the female voice spoke;
"If you want to be a party animal, you have to learn to live in the jungle
Now stop worrying and go get dressed!"
A flash of golden curls caught his attention, and he started singing again, slightly confused and hopeful, but when he looked back, the boy he was hoping was there, was not.
"You might have to excuse me
I've lost control of all my senses
And you might have to excuse me
I've lost control of all my words
So get drunk, call me a fool
Put me in my place, put me in my place
Pick me up, up off the floor
Put me in my place, put me in my place
Every minute and every hour
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more
Every stumble and each misfire
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more
Watching through my fingers, watching through my fingers
'Cause every minute and every hour
I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more".
Nico pushed the mic back with ease, as if he'd done so his whole life. He ran down the stage steps, ignoring the people swirling around him, telling him he was incredible, and that they want an encore. Nico guesses he should feel flattered, but he just wanted to leave.
"Hey, that was awesome."
Nico looked up at the person in front of him, and his heart jumped with hope, but then he realized this couldn't be Will. Nico got mad at himself, his jaw clenching. The tall boy in front of him had green eyes, and Will's blonde curls would have been close cropped.
"Thanks." Nico replied, not in the mood.
"Are you looking for anyone?"
Nico nodded. "My cousin."
"So, you're here with just your cousin? Wanna go somewhere else?" The guy asked, in what Nico guesses was supposed to be a seductive voice.
Nico took a deep breath, gritting his teeth to avoid doing anything rash. He was just a mortal, and didn't know Nico wasn't free. Nico was tired, and hungry. The only thing he had was a soda, not very filling.
Nico shook his head, and the taller boy frowned.
"C'mon!" He grabbed Nico arm, and Nico snapped.
The blonde was somehow across the room in seconds, and Nico was standing in front of him, his eyes black, and swimming with anger. "I said no. Is that to much to understand?"
The blonde's jaw dropped, and could only watch as Nico walked away, hands in tight fists at his sides.
Nico flung his arms around Percy's neck, muffling his scream of frustration. Percy sighed, pulling him closer.
"It's OK Nico, let's go." He changed the topic, succeeding in distracting Nico. "Nice work singing by the way. See, I told you you could!"
Nico let a small smile flit across his face, and lightly punched Percy's shoulder.
"I'm hungry, can we go home?"
Percy grinned but shook his head. "Dinner."
Nico groaned, but nodded as his stomach rumbled.
Nico slid into the booth, to tired to care that it was for four people, instead of two. He put his head in his crossed arms, ignoring Percy's laughter. He raised his head to send a meaningless glare at the boy across from him. Percy reached below the table, and produced his monster-proof phone, courtesy of Leo.
Nico scowled at the camera, before going cross-eyed, and sticking out his tongue. Percy snorted, and Nico released the silly face, a quiet laugh escaping him. Suddenly, Percy's grin widened, and Nico looked at him confused, before looking at his hands, grumbling.
"Excuse me, can I sit here?" A man walked from behind Nico, and stood next to Percy. Nico looked up, slightly annoyed. I mean, couldn't he see they were in the middle of something?
Nico's voice died in his throat, as he got a good look at the man. He did a double take, looking at a grinning Percy, and back to the smirking man next to the other boy.
In a second, Nico had attached himself to the other male, arms tightly around his neck, legs automatically wrapping securely around the taller man's waist. Percy was laughing, but Nico ignored him and the phone still recording in his hand.
Nico pressed his face into the tan male's neck, trying - and failing - to stifle his sobs. He clutched at the army shirt, one of the man's arms wrapped under his thighs to support him, the other twining into the midnight hair. Nico pulled back, but didn't relinquish his hold, letting out a choked laugh, and wiping his eyes.
"Will, oh my gods, you're not dead, I mean, I would have known if you had died, but-" Nico was cut off, as warm, but slightly chapped, lips were pressed to his own. Nico let out a laugh, kissing back as tears still rolled down his flushed face, the sweet kiss tasting salty. They broke the kiss, resting their foreheads together, eyes closed. Will smiled, his own tears falling, arms still wrapped tightly around Nico.
"You can let go of him you know, he's not going anywhere." Percy said, his tone teasing, yet gentle. Nico glared at him from over his dark shirt, and flipped him off, sticking his tongue out.
It was silent for half a second, before the three of them burst into laughter, Nico still clinging to Will. Nico rested his head against Will's shoulder, and closed his eyes, his lashes still wet from tears, his face blotchy from crying. Will swayed with the younger boy, nuzzling into him gently.
"Percy?" Nico mumbled, lifting his head tiredly. Hey, crying takes a lot out of you!
"Hmm?"
"Thank you."
There was quiet laughter then, "You're welcome."
Time skip after dinner, back at the apartment
"Nico?"
"Mmhm?" Nico mumbled, skimming his palm over the buzz-cut of Will's hair, the feeling tickling his palm.
"You're singing was great."
Nico reeled back, to see Will smirk, his blue eyes sparkling. Nico glared at him, pouting. "I hate you. Why didn't you show up at the bar? I was hit on like, three times!"
Will gasped, sitting up on the bed, from where he'd been lying on his side. He threw a hand to his chest dramatically, giving Nico his best kicked puppy eyes. Nico burst into laughter, pulling Will back down so that Nico could curl into him, and pressed his lips to Will's.
"Wait, you were what?"
Nico laughed harder, pressing a kiss to Will's cheek. "It doesn't matter."
Will huffed, but pulled Nico closer.
Nico tucked his head under Will's chin, tracing his hand over Will's sturdy chest, his boyfriend shivering as Nico's cold hands touched his skin.
"I love you." Nico mumbled, looking up at Will with a seriousness that made Will gulp. "Thank you for coming home."
Will gave a small smile, kissing Nico's forehead. "You're welcome, and I love you too."
So, what'd you guys think? Sad yet happy enough?
So, the very first video is kinda what Nico does to Will, but they're all, amazing
