I have two things I'd like to address, but first, incredible job to those who have already submitted their one shots! They've all been amazing so far!
Anywhonowwassit-
1.LinhSong_AnnaCobbler mentioned something that I think is really important and I want to hear (read?) what you guys think before I make a decision. She was concerned with the fact that perhaps two people going against each other could both be incredible writers, but only one could continue onto the next round. Whereas, there could be another set of competitors that are both not as good as the too exceptional writers. I'm not sure how likely this is considering that as far as I know you all are pretty great writers. However, I understand @LinhSong_AnnaCobbler's concern and she asked if instead of one of the better writers be kicked out, they would both move forward and the two not-as-good writers would both be eliminated.
Here's what I'm proposing. If you score 46/50 (or maybe 45, not sure how well all of you are going to do as I've only read a few one shots. If they're all high I might raise the number) or higher you will automatically move onto the next round regardless of your opponent's score. So both competitors could move forward. However, this would mean that there would be an uneven amount of people in following rounds.
And that could be fine.
At the end, there could be three competitors instead of two and I could either eliminate one of them and have the final two move on, or just announce the highest score of the three.
Also, if only one pair of contestants has both move forward, then they'll both move onto the next line (if you understand what I mean- like the line that winner of the two goes on to face another winner) and then those competitors would have a round where they faced off against two people instead of one. However, in this case, if they all scored higher than 46 (or whatever the number is) I will still eliminate whoever scored the lowest just so this doesn't keep building up. I will also make sure that if you are in a group of three you won't be in a group of three again until everyone else has been.
This rule will also be used in the case of a tie where both contestants will move forward.
Comment yes or no if you want to use this rule or not. Thanks!
2. I'm not sure if we need the whole week and a half. I'll see what happens this time but if most people finish their one shots in about five days I may change the schedule so you get the prompt on Monday and send it in by Friday, but we'll see. Would you be okay with a shorter writing period?
Comment yes or no if you would or wouldn't be. Thanks!
Okie dokie! That's all!
