I knew the moment she gave her hands to Vedh that she made the wrong decision. Vedh was the biggest flirt. Not that harmless flirting type, but that type of flirting which creates trouble. In those dim lights and the soft music playing, my eyes burned with pure rage as I saw his hands moving up and down her bare back. I clenched my fingers in a fist and my knuckles turned white.

The worst moment was when I saw his fingers unhooking the hook of her blouse. I immediately ran towards her rescue but the damage was already done. I saw him smirk at her and she shivered in fear, totally uncomfortable. That son of a mo*********! I wanted to kill him right there, but then her respect, reputation was at stake. No matter how much you ignore, people look out for opportunities to make useless talks.  And I didn't wanted anyone, absolutely any single one to talk anything wrong about her. About my Sohni Kuddi.

I went towards her and kept my palm on her now unhooked blouse that already had Vedh's palm holding it in place. At my touch his palm automatically slipped away and she looked at me thankfully. I gave her an assuring nod, telling her that she's safe with me. I gave him a death glare and he moved far away from her. I also made sure to hold her blouse in place.

The song changed and "Kahin toh" played. Since we were on the dance floor, we moved with the rhythm. She rested her head on my chest exactly where my heart was beating. Still fast because of the anger that Vedh ignited in me. She looked up into my eyes and said " This is perfect "
I kissed her forehead lovingly and replied to her " You are perfect ". She hugged me more passionately this time and we kept moving rhythmically. The lyrics of the song making it all so special.

After the song was done, she moved aside with me on her side and called Khushi. Khushi freaked out when she came to know what exactly happened with her friend. She came towards her, hugged her, I think I also saw tears in her eyes. She then took her away from me, carefully, into a room and made her change into a spare saree, since the hook of the blouse was lost.

When the girls came back, I was mesmerized by her beauty. She made the saree look so beautiful. She came towards me gracefully and I kissed her cheeks. I remembered I never appreciated her at first when we met today. I made sure to make it special this time. " if we are gonna get married someday and when you will get ready for such parties, we won't be able to go. Because I won't be able to control myself from getting you out of the dress" I whispered in her ear. She blushed bright red. I smiled.

The rest of the night we moved hand in hand. I felt blessed and lucky to have a girl like her on my side. I protectively kept my hand on her waist. I want no one to look at my Sohni Kuddi in that any wrong way again.

The time for the cake cutting came. The cake had a picture of Rudra and Khushi, the meant to be couple. They looked happy and purely in love. I looked at them in envy. Someday I want this for us. Exact this. Someone looking at us in envy. Vedh was no where to be seen after that incident.

We moved around and chatted with others for a while. We also saw that Chote came with her sister Alia as a date. I can sense some love brewing here. Actually love was in the air. All the lovey dovey couples around. A few more games later we left in the car. We had meaningless talks but I wasn't bored. And when we reached our place she said " so umm.. now you.. umm I mean us ? " she said blushing.

She looked so adorable when she blushed. I smiled at her lovingly and said " you know what? Tum bilkul pagal ho "
She smiled, came close and kissed my cheek. " I will see you soon " she said and with that she was gone. I can still feel her lips on my cheek. I thought about the day I chased her down her lane and how we are now. I thought about how magical love makes you feel. I thought about how lucky and blessed I am to have her. To have the girl I wanted. I thought about everything that is beautiful.

I heard her voice " suniye hum pahuch gye hai " she was sitting on my lap. I cupped her cheeks lovingly. Smiling wide. She was mine. Only mine. " suniye na " she said again. I bent down close to her amazing rosy lips. " Sir, we have reached " the driver's voice came aloud and bought me back to reality. I realized that I was just imagining her. I chuckled at myself and got out of the car.

The smile never left my face. " so umm.. you.. I mean us " her voice echoed in my head. The " us " was so soothing, like music to my ears. I changed into my night dress and switched off the lights. I pulled the duvet above me. It was a cold night. Her thoughts still ruling my mind. The smile never leaving my face. Today was perfect. I closed my eyes and still saw her. It was like even if I was awake or asleep it made no difference. She was always there. All the damm time.

That night, I slept peacefully.
