Chapitre Un

Just a normal guy going to his normal job on a normal day. That's what Alexander Hamilton was thinking as he got ready this morning. Not in a dreadful way. Not even close. High school teacher may not sound all that exciting, but he taught some of the best kids, worked with some of his closest friends, and his boss was one of the most patient people you would ever meet. Alexander loved his job, and not a single day went by that he wasn't grateful about having a job he enjoyed.

Instead, he thought this in an uncertain way. Alexander wasn't necessarily normal. He was a raging homosexual who was, up until quite recently, in a fake straight relationship with his best friend Eliza in order to make her crush Maria jealous. His job was relatively normal, unless you don't think that having a near perfect job is normal. But, as of a few months ago, he had stopped having normal days. I mean, considering how long this had been happening for, this had almost become the new normal for him.

It all started when the gym teacher quit and the art teacher retired in the same year. The school was low on funds, and gym and art were both bi-daily classes, so they decided that it would be smartest to simply hire one person for both classes. The hunt, surprisingly, didn't take very long. After about two months they got a spectacular application for both subjects, and during the interview the school officials hired the man on the spot.

That's when Mr. John Laurens walked into his life. The man who immediately consumed Alexander's thoughts.

Alex had never fallen so hard. All of a sudden every cheesy rant Eliza went on about Maria, every time his friends Lafayette and Hercules did something obnoxiously cute together, every time his friend Angelica fell in love with the most random people, it all made sense. You see, it had been a very long time since Alexander had had a crush. Almost longer than he would like to admit. In fact, he was starting to wonder if his last crush, some chick in 11th grade named Tiffany, had been the one. But when John first introduced himself to Alex, he realized Tiffany was definitely not the one.

John had rich, warm, brown skin that was completed by his gorgeous freckles. He had dark, curly hair that Alex wanted nothing more than to run his fingers through. His voice was beautiful and absolutely mesmerizing to listen to, and his laugh made Alex want to melt. He was the most talented and passionate artist that Alex could remember ever meeting, and watching him paint was an entirely different kind of incredible. And as if it was the icing on the cake, or the cherry on a sundae, John's body looked as though it had been hand sculpted by God himself. He was strong, muscled, and chiseled, but in a way that makes him look strong and not unnatural. He was tall and had this lovely way of walking. And although Alexander loved John's body, he absolutely hated it too.

You see, Alexander had a habit of comparing himself to others. And while sometimes harmless, was often times a bad habit to have. In this situation it was damaging, for in every way that Alex considered John's body perfect, he was not. He was not tall. In fact, he was just barely 5'7". He had an awkward walk, that was probably unnoticeable by everyone but himself. As for being chiseled, that was a dream long gone.
