Chapter One: Skype? I'm At Work, Roman!

Virgil sighed heavily as he leaned on the counter at Starbucks. He was tired of this, not the job itself though, it was easy money, but having nobody in here--ever.

Virgil had been talking with his boyfriend, Roman, on Skype for a majority of the time he was here today.

oneanxiousboi: yknow i wanna vc but im at work

PrinceInShiningArmor: If there's no one in there, why not?

oneanxiousboi: but like

oneanxiousboi: what if smeone comes in

oneanxiousboi: *someone

PrinceInShiningArmor: BUT WHAT IF SOMEONE DOESN'T

oneanxiousboi: i'm almost done with work tho

oneanxiousboi: later

PrinceInShiningArmor: Wait, before you go

oneanxiousboi: ?

PrinceInShiningArmor: Love you, dearest

oneanxiousboi: love you too, ro

And with that, Virgil signed off. He felt heat rise to his cheeks, thinking of how Roman would say that to him when they were video chatting, smiling and his eyes full of love. Virgil sighed and rested his head in his hand.

"Drool much, Veronica?" A cold voice broke him from his thoughts. Of course, it was Logan, in for his usual coffee.

"The usual?" Virgil asked, turning around the coffee machine. "You know me well." Logan said, smirking.

A few seconds later, Virgil turned around with a cup of coffee. "Plain black coffee." Virgil set it down on the table. Logan set down cash on the table. "Exact change, huh?" Virgil asked with a chuckle. "I've memorized the price by now." Logan said.

Both boys chuckled. Logan grabbed his coffee. "We'll meet up on Saturday, right?" Virgil asked. "If things don't change, then yes." Logan said. "Anyways, goodbye, Virgil!" Logan said, waving as he exited. Virgil waved back and smiled.

Virgil glanced at the clock, realizing it was his time to leave. He hung up his apron and hat, and gathered his belongings.

Roman sat at his computer desk, Skyping with Virgil. "How was work, dear?" Roman asked. "It was boring. Slow day." Virgil said, yawning. "Well, apparently it was enough to tucker you out." Roman chuckled.

Virgil gave a small giggle. "I guess so." "Your laugh is so adorable, y'know that?" Roman asked. Virgil blushed. And it was visible, too, thanks to his decision of removing his foundation. "And you're even more adorable when you blush." Roman cooed.

Virgil hid his face as best he could. "You know that I'm just gonna keep finding cute things about you." Roman said. "You're so adorable." "I am not adorable." Virgil mumbled.

"But you most certainly are, my little emo nightmare." Roman teased. "Eres más lindo que un gatito, querida. En realidad, araña eso, eres tan lindo como un gatito."

"You're so lucky I don't know Spanish." Virgil teased. "Well, I can use it to my advantage." Roman said. "I know you get all flustered when I speak Spanish." Roman chuckled. "N-No I don't!" Virgil denied, crossing his arms and blushing.

"And now you're acting like a Tsundere." Roman pointed out. "I will hang up on you." Virgil said, resisting a smirk.

"Babe noooooooooooo..." Roman whined. "Then stop." Virgil said with a chuckle.

"Anyway, did you have any plans this weekend?" Roman asked. "Not really. I'm hanging out with Logan and Patton for a movie night. You?" Virgil said. "I'm hanging out with Remy this weekend." Roman said. Roman said. "Oh, the guy who always goes to parties and is never home?" Virgil asked. "He's the one." Roman said.

"Well, I'm surprised you'll be able to keep him in one place for that long." Virgil chuckled, and soon Roman joined in. "It'll only be a while before we go out for a party." Roman said. "It's this one hosted by his friend. I've heard his friend throws the best parties."

"I wouldn't know. A, I don't live in your area, sadly, and B, I've never been to a party." Virgil said. "You've NEVER been to a party?!" Roman gasped. "It's not my style." Virgil said. "I prefer to stay at home, re-watching series I've seen at least six hundred twenty three thousand times and draw." Virgil said, a smile gently growing on his face.

"I know, dear, but you've never been to one?" Roman asked. "I mean, not even in high school?" "I was too worried about what people would say if I went, so I never did." Virgil mumbled.

"Honestly, high school parties weren't that good. After the first few, I started to hate them, but since I was popular, I had to go to them." Roman said. "But the parties in adulthood are much better. Maybe you'd like them."

"Maybe I would." Virgil sighed. "But only if I was with you. Logan wouldn't go and Patton would probably not go too. My crowd is not into parties."

"That's understandable..." Roman said. "I mean, when you consider all the things that go on at them." "Yeah...thanks." Virgil let out a yawn and stretched.

"Holy--it's eleven o'clock!" Roman exclaimed. "I guess I was too busy focused on you, my dear." Virgil blushed. "I guess we should go to bed. I don't have work tomorrow but I'm tired." Virgil said, stifling another yawn.

"Well, goodnight, my dearest." Roman said, blowing a kiss to the camera. Virgil giggled silently. "Goodnight, Roman." He said. "Love you, Virgy." Roman said. "Love you, too, Ro." Virgil replied, gave a wave, and ended the call.

Virgil sighed as he lied in bed, restless. He couldn't sleep. Virgil couldn't stop thinking about Roman. How much he loved him, how much he adored him.

How much he wanted to meet him.

But, Virgil knew that if they met, the time they spent together would be glorious and full of happy moments. But the moment they had to separate, Virgil knew it'd be torturous.

Virgil felt himself tear up. He wanted to meet Roman so bad. He was so desperate for it. But Virgil knew that they couldn't. It'd be expensive to get a plane ticket, or forever to drive, and Virgil didn't want Roman to waste money on him if he wanted to come see him.

Virgil sighed. Just go to sleep, he thought. Maybe one day it'll work.
