Chapter 1 - Apricity
Well, this isn't new. After the stupid and sudden blizzard, we had to delay the meeting with TBVG which, in my opinion, SUCKS. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN WAITING?! TWO YEARS AND A HALF. But I'm not Mother Nature and I can't control what TBVG can and can't do, so I guess I can't complain. At least today was finally the day. I am finally able to go to the meeting with TBVG. I decided that my friends would join us in case of anything that goes wrong. Let's hope that what I'm doing will keep my friends safe.
Tbh's POV
TbhHonest. The man who helped win The Mechanic War. After all these years, he and his friends were able to finally be free. For once, they were free.
Tbh was walking in the village they rebuilt, wrapping himself in a brown coat as small flakes of snow fell to the ground. It had been very peaceful since The Mechanic War, with nobody having to be worried about death or betrayal or anything that could harm them. Yes, there have been a few disagreements in the group, but it never led to anything gruesome. The sun was brightly shining as it loomed over the cold atmosphere.
The crab walked over to the closest house, Meme's, and knocked on it with his crab claws which were slightly chipped due to the past events. After knocking, Tbh leaned against the wall next to the door. After a few seconds, he heard the sound of a door unlocking. Then the door opened, revealing a half-awake Memegod not looking happy. "Memester! Long time no see! How ya doing?" Tbh greeted, acting like Meme wasn't about to punch him in the face. "First of all, it's only been a day since we met," Meme started, his voice monotonous and flat. "Second of all, it's early in the morning. What do you want?"
"Well, uhh, remember that meeting I talked about?" Tbh asked to which Meme nodded to, "Well, today is the day I'm going and I was wondering if you and the rest of the group would like to come with me." He explained, a smile plastered on his face. Meme took a long sigh, making Tbh slightly worried. "Let me get Nadwe." Meme finally said, his voice still flat as he turned around and closed the door behind him. Tbh couldn't help but quickly celebrate. He did the same thing with the rest of the group, almost all of them looking half dead, but they all agreed.
As Tbh walked back, he noticed something on the floor. A blank, piece of paper. His curiosity got the best of him and he picked it up, flipping it over to see if there was anything on it. There was something on it. It was a sentence, looking as if it was from another language, but it didn't look like any of the other languages he'd recognized before. He just put it in the pocket of his coat and left.
After a few hours, they finally got prepared to go.
They decided to go on Betsy, attaching a carriage to her like in the 90's since nobody here really owns a car and the jeep Nadwe used was lost when he crashed it. Tbh felt slight empathy for Betsy since she was getting older, but he crossed his claws so that nothing would go wrong including Betsy because Medz would be devastated. After packing their stuff and getting into the carriage, they were ready to go. While mostly everyone sat in the back, Medz and Tbh were able to sit in the front. "Everyone ready?" Medz asked, looking over at the others. As they nodded, Medz looked back and signaled Betsy to leave. As Betsy rode away from the village, Tbh decided to relax a bit. He wanted a small break after getting everyone and gathering them to the carriage as well as helping them get their bags in the carriage was tiring, so he needed just a moment to relax. He leaned back, glancing ahead. The paper he grabbed couldn't get out of his head, it was weird...
Did this mean there was something more going on than he expected? Was there another new enemy they would have to face? Was all of the things they faced just for nothing?
He decided not to think about it, for now, maybe he was just overthinking. Maybe TBVG had some answers. Tbh kind of zoned out, overthinking the different things that might happen as he glanced at the sky.
"Tbh!" Nadwe suddenly yelled. Tbh snapped back to reality, turning his head toward the vampire. He then pointed to a different location, and it looked to be a village. It looked normal, with small stands and wooden houses, yet it felt ominous like something was different. "I didn't know villages were near here..." Nadwe muttered, leaning back as he adjusted his top hat again. He was right, villages near this type of weather were kind of rare; most villages would be abandoned during the winter, but this one weirdly wasn't.
He then remembered that he had the random page, maybe these people could help decode it. Tbh stepped out of the carriage, whispering to his friends to stay where they were. He then walked towards the closest person there. The person had long dirty brown hair, having crystal blue eyes. She seemed to be wearing a cloak that covered most of her body, her boots being the only thing he could see. Tbh saw her as familiar, but he didn't know why. "Hey there!" Tbh greeted, walking over to the familiar woman. She looked at him slightly confused, backing up one step back. "Uhh... hi?" She reacted, glancing at the carriage for a second, then back at the crab. Tbh looked back at his coat, grabbing the paper out of it. "I know you might not have answers, but do you know what this means?" He asked, giving her the paper. The woman looked at the paper, her eyes slightly widening as her eyes followed what the paper said. "I.." She trailed off, her hands clutching the paper. "I know this language.." Tbh's eyes widened, euphoria hitting him like a car. "Really?!" He exclaimed, failing to hide the excitement that was washing over him. "Yeah! I'll try to translate it." She nodded grabbing a pen out of her cloak as she looked at the paper again. Tbh was going to walk back to the carriage, but he then noticed something.
Tbh then saw something that stood out from the village, a statue. It looked to be a biblically accurate angel, eyes scattering across its head with two wings on each side and two pairs of arms decorated with jewelry. The upper pair had their hands together like they were praying, and the lower pair seemed to be opening their arms out like a greeting. They wore a long Greek dress, looking like it was from thousands of years ago. The troubling thing was that it was so realistic, Tbh thought it would open its eyes and look down at him. There was a tile underneath the statue, a name engraved on it: 'Eleanor'. He looked at it for a while, feeling like it was placing him in a trance, but he then shook his head and walked back to the carriage. He just hoped he wouldn't see that again.
Tbh looked and saw that Socks was staring at the woman, mouthing something unintelligible. The crab then poked Socks' shoulder, snapping him back to reality. "You okay?" Tbh asked, looking at the woman, then back at Socks. "Yeah- I'm okay. It's just her. I know her." Socks replied, moving Tbh's claw away. Socks knew her? Tbh looked confused. "Charlotte." Socks said, pointing at the woman. Tbh still looked confused. "You know. Charlotte. Sister from no other mister?" Socks clarified. Then it hit him. "Oh. OHHHHHHH I get it now." The crab exclaimed, putting a claw in his hair.
"You should say hi to her!" Tbh said, shaking the astronaut as he looked at both Charlotte and Socks back and forth. Socks opened his mouth, about to say something, but closing it and leaning back. Tbh looked confused again, pulling his claws away. He jumped out of the carriage, walking towards Charlotte. "Oh, hey! I think I finished it." She said, looking at Tbh. Charlotte was about to give the paper to him, but her eyes glanced at the carriage, noticing someone. Her eyes widened, snatching her arms away as she backed away. "You okay?" Tbh asked, trying to take a step closer, but she just kept backing away. "Why- why do you have.. them.. in your carriage?" She asked, her expression looking to be almost like horror. "What do you mean by them?" He questioned, looking back at the carriage. Charlotte stepped closer, lowering her head to say something quietly. "The Laff killers..." She whispered, still clutching the paper in her hands.
Hearing Laff's name still gave him goosebumps, knowing how much trauma Laff put him through. But.. why would they worry about the killers of someone who has put thousands of people through so much pain? Tbh backed up, his boots digging into the snow. Charlotte then grabbed her gun, pointing it at Tbh's head. "I will not let my people suffer over such killers." She said, about to pull the trigger.
Tbh then snatched the paper out of her hands, running off as quickly as he possibly could. "GUYS! GO GO GO GO!" He yelled, running over to the carriage as Medz nodded. He couldn't see it, but he saw Betsy start to run. As Tbh jumped over to the back of the carriage, he felt a bullet pierce through his ankle. Luckily, Meme and Blaza grabbed his wrists, pulling him up to the carriage before he would go through more damage.
Tbh crawled over to the front, looked at Medz, and chuckled. He looked around, seeing someone. He was still recovering from what the fuck happened just a few minutes ago, but he noticed TBVG looking at him, trying to get their attention. "MEDZ!" Tbh suddenly yelled, making Medz flinch. Tbh pointed at TBVG, making Medz pull Betsy towards TBVG. After a few long minutes, they were finally there.
Things were finally getting to business.
