VOLUME TWO- CHAPTER 16
Chapter Sixteen- Limon's Revelation
I tried to make an excuse to run away from this despicable house. One day, I stole a golden watch of Ghani. Therefore, he had beaten me harshly and took me to a store room. Then he showed his true colors that I never imagined such.
"Well done, baccha. You will be my right hand. It is because whatever I do is illegal. You have to steal drugs for me. I love it" said Ghani.
He got me out of the store room and pretended to beat me. Then he threw me out of the house. After that he had beaten his wife without any reason. I ran away but suddenly captured by a young teenage boy of my age- no other than Salam. After that, Salam took me in front of a boy who was tied with ropes in the chair. It was Farid. Salam was a gullible person because at a time he was misguided. We learnt to steal such as black money, jewel and so on that also transformed me into a robber. We three used to deal with drugs and stolen goods. That was where our friendship starts. D.M. Ghani was educated at Oxford but still he never knew something that we realized. What an irony!
We were bound to work as a robber. At the time, Ateef used to write against D.M. Ghani because of his illegal business was semi-leaked. I liked it but bound. One day, Salam was becoming arrogant of being one of the favorites of Ghani such that he was assigned to steal a 200 million taka from an uneducated politician's account. For his greed, he went to steal it and he was chased by the politician's men but suddenly, he met Ateef in the rickshaw. Ateef slapped him on such a manner that he forgot to put the hammer on his toe.
"What brings you here, men of Ghani?" asked Ateef.
"I stole the money but your slapped opened my eyes, sir" said Salam.
"Thank you but are there any other men of Ghani?" asked Ateef.
"Yes, but most are kidnapped children" said Salam.
"Damn dangerous! If you are bound take your main lefty then. What is his name by the way?" asked Ateef.
"Ataur Rahman Limon" said Salam.
"Oh my God! Brilliant student of our college had become a robber. How astonishing! We should free him off" said Ateef.
Then, Salam took Farid and me to his university dorm, by lying to Ghani that we were going to rob a bank. After that, when Ateef saw me, he cried and hugged me because we were friends for a long time. I revealed all my thoughts to him. He accepted it. His girlfriend and now wife, Sara played dual characters such as a girl who was authentic and choosy but in the other side; she was more childish talking fast as a super heroine.
Ateef told me that she was traumatized by the death of her brother who was mentally handicapped. We have planned to get rid of Ghani in such a manner that had 48 hours.
2 days later, Ateef gave all of the evidence against Ghani to BDR because he was not as clever as he thinks of. The BDR arrested Ghani and freed most of the children. The court sentenced him to prison for a year but due to his good behavior, he was released. His employment was not accepted because of his past criminal records. He met a man who was gullible for promoting the criminal like Ghani as a director of the garments. We came to know that Ghani secretly was doing his smuggling profession along with kidnapping children by turning them into professional beggars.
There, we met a Hindu shopkeeper, Devrajeet who gave us the garage. We tried to turn ourselves into good people. Unfortunately, the crime of our country has been increased. Therefore we have to steal the black money from Ghani's men and drop it to the police. They do not bother. That was why I told you (Mathin) to send the evidence to RAB.
I learnt more about things from Ateef. I turned into a famous thief as I am against Ghani. To make my image down, he framed me for murder."
"Sorry Ataur for your loss. I never knew that this crime would be so harsh. We have to stop that devil Ghani!" shouted Mathin.
Limon saw most people in the slum gave some symbolic support in their own way because, they listened to his story in a concentrative manner.
Meanwhile, Ghani went to a port in Rajarbagh. One of his right handed men told him about the garments that he became childishly angry.
