VOLUME THREE- CHAPTER 20 (First Part)

Chapter Twenty- Salam and Shamish's Arrival

Now my father became a rich and successful shopkeeper because, Grandpa Himel died in his natural death. My father's shop had turned into a small, departmental store. Grandpa, Grandma, Father, Mother and I were shifted to a small house that was beside the bazaar. It was made of bricks and the rooftops were made of tins. I missed the old house. I always thought when my uncles: Salam and Shamish will come.

One day, Father taught me how to play with mathematics by fun. Grandpa was encouraging me much. I knew they had average expectations on me. After doing mathematics, we dined and slept. Suddenly, we heard a sound of a motorbike. It sounded so loud that Father forced himself to wake up.

"Who's there?" shouted Father.

He opened the door, but saw an empty auto rickshaw with loads of luggage. He came out of the doorstep, the two men jumped out with surprise- it was Uncle Salam and Uncle Shamish! Oh man! After five years, we saw them really happy.

"Hey Man! What's up! Where have you been?" exclaimed Dad happily.

"I've been to Calcutta and Manali" said Salam.

"For all these years?" asked Dad (Shadhon)

"Yes, Shadhon, for five years of tour. Beautiful picture! Woah! Beautiful hills covered with snow, little houses and rich in color. Calcutta is not only a city but a place similar to our country with a little difference" said Shamish.

"Wow! I wish I could see that!" said Dad.

All three friends gave a group hug. I came near Dad and asked "Who are they?"

"Look! That sweet son of yours! Wow he grew up" said the two. They pressed my cheeks lovingly.

"Ateef, here is your Uncle Salam and Uncle Shamish" said Dad.

I nod down my head and I went away because I was shy. They smiled at me. Dad patted my Mom's hair.

"Look Mathin, there are some people who wants to meet you" said Dad.

She woke up and saw Salam Uncle and Shamish Uncle. She became insanely surprised.

"Salam and Shamish! How are you? Man-such a long time!" exclaimed Mom.

Both the two were had their mouths open wide by surprise of Mom's free behavior.

"Bhabi [1]! We never saw you that free. But we accept it, right Shamish?" said Salam.

"Yes" said Shamish.

Uncle Shamish gave Dad the money.

"Here's your due" said Shamish.

"I can't accept the dues, Shamish. But it's your travelling money that I've given you six years back. I think you should keep it with you for friendship's sake" said Dad.

"Thanks Shadhon, you are still the same Shadhon but a little different" said Shamish.

"What difference do you spot?" asked Dad.

"When were arriving, we went to see your shop. It was big and much cleaner. Everyone was talking about you two. Much more improved and transformation from a thief to a shopkeeper" said Salam.

"My friend, thanks to Mathin- I moved on to be an honest guy. My son is the second treasure" said Dad.

"It always happens dost [2]" said Shamish.

Meanwhile, Sarah was reading an article about the computer that Ghani was constructing a marketplace. She was asking herself whether it was revenge or if Ghani wanted to move on. It would be a catastrophe if Ghani would be doing something like that.

Ghani was not a trustable person. We hope, he would have a little humanity.

[1] Sister-in-law [2] Friend
