Chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Reese

+*+*+*+*+*+ The Next Day +*+*+*+*+*+

The sun filled my room with warm rays in the morning. Everything looked brighter. I thought as I laid in bed, "I should get a job to pay Aphmau for living here, but I don't know where any jobs are." I lift myself off of the bed and start to go out of my room and down the stairs, "I'll just ask Aphmau if there are any good jobs around."

After breakfast, I slowly walk up to Aphmau's room. "Aphmau," I knocked on her door, "Can I come in?"

"Yeah!" She called back from inside her room.

I pushed the door open and looked in to see her and Zane sitting in the room once again. "Did I interrupt something?" I ask worriedly.

"No, no," Said Aphmau smiling, "Did you need something."

"Yeah, I wanted to know if there is anywhere to work near here."

"Why do you need a place to work?"

"Well I want to pay you for a bit of the bill you get, you can't take care of everything."

Aphmau laughed, "If you don't find a job you like then it's fine. Take as much time as you need. I remember one job that Kawaii-Chan has."

"What is it?"

"She works at a maid cafe nearby," Aphmau laughed and looked at Zane who's face was completely red.

I stared at Zane, "Is there something wrong?"

"N-No let's just not talk about the maid cafe," Zane responded.

"Aww come on, (Y/N) would look cute in a maid outfit don't you think? Just imagine it," Aphmau teased him with a smirk on her face.

Zane's face was a dark shade of red as he looked away trying to cover his flushed features.

"Aw, come on Zane, don't look away!" Aphmau continued to tease and poke Zane while he tries to swat her away.

I backed out of the room slowly, "I-I'll be sure to check that place out," I nervously laughed and shut the door before they could respond. 'That was for sure weird.'

------------

I tried my best to get Aphmau to tell me where Kawaii-Chan's house is after Zane left. I had to pry it from her for a few minutes but, thankfully, she spilled the beans. As soon as I got Kawaii-Chan's address, I left Aphmau's room quickly and bolted through the front door so that I didn't have to explain to her why I was going.

The reason I was going is because of the job that Aphmau told me about at the maid cafe. Of course, being a maid does not appeal to me at all but I thought I might as well ask Kawaii-Chan about it.

Walking to Kawaii-Chan's house was not that difficult because it was just down the street. It took me about 10 minutes to get there. Once I finally came up to the house that Aphmau gave me the address for, I knocked on her door and took one step backwards.

Thankfully, Aphmau introduced me to Kawaii-Chan before I move in so I wasn't a stranger knocking on her door, asking questions about where she worked.

I stood outside her door a couple of minutes until finally giving up. I walked down the stairs of her house and stepped on a branch making someone with a high voice shush me. I whipped my head to the side to see Kawaii-Chan looking through the bushes on the side of her house. I crouched beside her quietly, trying not to break her focus on what she was doing.

"Kawaii-Chan what are you doing?" I asked her in a soft voice.

"Shh," She shushed me again, whispering, "I'm watching Reese-Senpai and his friends."

My brows furrowed for a second before I peered out of the bush and into the other person's backyard. Three guys were laughing and playing football in the backyard next to her's,

"Isn't he hot?" Kawaii-Chan swooned as she stared at them.

I looked at her confusingly, "Which one is he?"

"The hot one!"

I looked back at them, none of them really caught my eye but they were cute. I turned my gaze back to Kawaii-Chan, "Why don't you go talk to them?"

"Talk to them," She almost screamed but she kept her voice down, "You're crazy."

'Says the person who's stalking someone from behind a bush.' I felt a big confident, something that I didn't feel often. I took advantage of it and grabbed a hold of Kawaii-Chan's forearm, dragging her to their front door.

I rang their doorbell, hoping they would hear it. I heard feet shuffling in the grass and the back door opening. I got more nervous the closer they got. A guy with pink skin and violet hair opened the door looking at me with curious turquoise eyes. "H-Hi," I stuttered, "I'm new and I live a couple of blocks down from here. My friend Kawaii-Chan talks about someone who lives here a lot so I thought I would visit."

I looked around me, Kawaii-Chan had vanished before Reese and his friends could notice. "Well," The guy with pink skin spoke, "I'm Reese," He moved to the side a bit to show two guys behind him, "That guy over there is my brother, and roommate, Marsh." He pointed to his friend that had blue skin, blue hair, and blue eyes. "And that guy beside him is McCloud, my other roommate." He pointed to a pale guy with red hair and golden eyes. He had an eyepatch covering one of his eyes so it looked like he was dressing up in a pirate costume for Halloween.

I shyly smiled, "S-Sorry for just randomly appearing at your front door, I just thought it's better to know more people especially since I'm kind of new here."

"You're new here?" Reese questioned.

"Yeah..."

"Well if you have any problems don't hesitate to come over and talk to any of us, we're glad to listen."

"O-Okay," My cheeks were red from all of the attention that was on me, "I better be getting back to Kawaii-Chan now."

"Okay, bye..."

"Oh, right, I'm (Y/n)," I nervously laughed.

Reese smiled again, "That's a pretty name."

"W-Well I'm going now, bye Reese, bye Marsh, bye McCloud."

They all yelled bye back as I quickly walked back to Kawaii-Chan's house next door.

I walked back to her house and let out a loud yelp when I felt someone pull me to the ground. Luckily, it was Kawaii-Chan in her regular place behind the bush. Her eyes were wide and they were filled with excitement, "You talked to him, what did he say!"

"Woah, calm down Kawaii-Chan, it's just a guy."

"Just a guy?!" Kawaii-Chan screeched, "How can you tell me that Reese-Senpai is just a guy!"

I smirk at her, finally catching on, "I suspect someone has a crush."

"Kawaii-Chan really likes Reese-Senpai!" Kawaii-Chan confesses, "But Kawaii-Chan barely talks to him, whenever Kawaii-Chan does, Kawaii-Chan freaks out and runs away."

I give her a sympathetic smile, "I'm sorry Kawaii-Chan."

Her eyes shine mischievously, "But all of Kawaii-Chan's worries are fine now, Kawaii-Chan has a certain friend that will help Kawaii-Chan get closer to Reese-Senpai."

I think about what she said for a moment before realizing that she meant me as her certain 'friend'. "Kawaii-Chan, I can't do that!"

"But (Y/n), Kawaii-Chan is begging you! You're Kawaii-Chan's only hope!"

I sighed, massaging my head to release some stress, "Fine Kawaii-Chan, I'll help."

Kawaii-Chan attacked me in a bear hug, squeezing the life out of me, "Thank you so much (Y/n)! You won't regret it!"

I started to itch my skin, feeling the mosquito bites forming, "Can we go inside now? I still want to talk to you."

"Yeah, let's go!"

5/22/16 update: If you didn't see, I said that I couldn't update for two weeks because of vacation. Thankfully, in the hotel I'm staying at has internet but it's not really good. (I'm kind of depending on cell service but I don't want to use too much) I can't really grammar check this because my laptop is really slow and doesn't work on the hotel wifi so I'm using my phone. With this, I might not be able to reply to your comments as much either (because it's so slow at loading), I'm sorry. ( :( I really like replying to comments if I can)
