That evening Dr. Stone found Amulya in her office. She just came in from the emergency room, where she had to take care of an accident case. She had a small break before she had to go back to work.

"Amulya" Stone said, smiling gently at the girl. "How are you feeling?' He asked. Amulya constantly reminded him of how he used to be when he was young.

He wasn't allowed to have favourites but she was definitely his. If she was anything like him, he knew she'd be locking all the emotions inside her and struggling with them.

"I want you to take the rest of the day off" He told her, making her frown in confusion.

"But, am I not needed here?" She asked.

"You are, but you deserve the day off. I'm not this good all the time. So don't question and enjoy the rest of the night off" He smiled at her before taking off.

Amulya packed her stuff and left the hospital. She went into the closest grocery store that was open and got the vegetables and fruits she needed. She even bought a few ready to eat meals, just in case she runs out of the groceries again.

She went home, put away the groceries, showered and decided to make some dinner. But before all that she wanted to see Alaric. After the decision she made that morning, she couldn't wait to see him.

She walked into the hallway and knocked on his door. He opened it a minute later, surprised to see her standing on the other side.

"I thought you were staying at the hospital tonight?" he questioned.

"My boss decided to be generous. Why, aren't you happy to see me?"

"Oh, no; I actually called my other girlfriend over when you told me you weren't going to be home. Now it's going to be awkward when you two meet" He managed to keep his face straight for a few seconds but burst out laughing when she did.

"Very funny, Ricky" She said, and added "I am cooking tonight. Will you join me for dinner?"

"Oh are you asking me on a date?"

"Only if you want it to be a date" Alaric was surprised. Was she the same girl that cried this morning because she was scared, when he told her he liked her?

"What are you making?" he asked her, "I don't want this date to be boring"

"I haven't decided yet, but maybe you could help me" She said and started walking into her house, knowing he was following her.

After dinner, which was spent almost silently except for a small talk, Alaric and Amulya were curled up on her couch watching a movie. The ice cream bucket lay in between them as they ate occasionally.

"What are we?" She heard Alaric ask suddenly. She paused the movie knowing it was the time to have their talk.

"I don't know. I never did this."

Alaric moved the ice cream onto the coffee table before tugging at her hand to bring her closer. She curled up on his side, her head resting on his chest and her arms around him. His arm was around her waist, as the other ran through her hair.

"I don't date for fun, or to pass time" he said slowly.

"I never did casual relationships, Amy. If you agree to be mine, you are mine and mine alone. I'll love you and be with you with the intension to marry you. Even though I am not there yet, I think I am falling for you. I am not ready to lose you, Amy" She was shocked to hear that.

Marriage wasn't the topic anyone would bring up on their first date, but they did talk about marriage in their very first conversations, so there wasn't anything new they could do.

"I like you too. I don't think I can lose you. I haven't done this before, so I have no idea what to do as a girlfriend"

Girlfriend; he liked that. Amy was his girlfriend now.

He slowly intertwined their fingers, bringing her had up and kissing her knuckles.

"We both can learn as we go." He smiled at her before adding "Just to warn you, Hillary has been waiting for this news since we met on tinder, so you probably won't hear the end of it, next time you guys meet"

Amulya laughed at him.

"Well I'm sure my boyfriend will save me"

Boyfriend; she could get used to that.
