More than halfway done ! ! !

Chapter 15: Oxymorons

Finally it's lunch time. How I missed you food! Tony and I had the previous lesson together and were walking to the cafeteria after I went to my locker to get the brownies mum packed for me. We got our trays and sat down with Bec and Ty. Talking amongst ourselves, Becky and I traded foods - my brownies for her biscuits when all of a sudden I heard the most awful shriek ever. Only one person I know would make that noise and only one person I know would cause that noise.

The four of us looked at the double doors watching as the football team entered (why are they always late?) along with most of the cheerleaders. I see Archer ad his gang along with Sheila and her friends sit at their usual table, but the rest of the demon squad sit at the badboys table.

"I think Stephanie is trying to get back at Xray," Becky says nonchantly.

"Well that's a stupid way to get back at him, maybe I should give the queen bee some tips," I respond uninterested. Too much drama.

"What do you think will happen?"

I roll my eyes as the whole cafeteria turns to see what happens, "They're just trying to get attention, over dramatic if you ask me,"  Is my answer getting back to my food. Silver can sit by himself for all I care. As I was about to take a bite of my biscuit, I see everyone staring at me. This is weird. I open my mouth to ask and Becky points behind me. Turning I almost jumped out of my seat.

"Hey Rose mind if JK and I join you," Silver asks looking at me his head near my ear, Jackson looks just as confused as everyone else.

I push him by the forehead,"Yes I mind so no"

"Thanks," he replies plopping in the seat next to me. Why didn't Audrey come to school today? Then Silver wouldn't of been next to me.

"I'm pretty sure I said no"

"Well okay," he says.  Still. Sitting. Next. To. Me. The other three just stare shocked. The boy is only human . . . I think? Why're they so startled then?

"Hi Daniella long time no see," Jackson greets me offering a fist pump, he takes a seat in between Ty and Becky causing the girl to blush wildly.

I let mine hit his before turning back to Xavier, "Just so you know, I'm only going to let you sit here because of Jackson"

The ravenet sticks out his tongue at Silver who completely ignores and carries on speaking, "Rose, you shouldn't leave places empty if you don't want me sitting next to you"

"Didn't I tell you not to talk to me at school ?" I say whispering harshly trying to avoid the stares around me. Obviously the whole cafeteria will watch the Xray machine sit down.

"Alright, so how do you guys know each other or am I the only one lost,"  Ty asks looking at the the others with confusion.

"Usually bro you would be the only one lost but not today, so Danny what's going on," Tony adds with an agreeing nod.

I sigh wanting to face palm, "Guys this is idiotic rays as you all know-"

"Hey! That's not my name"

I smile wickedly, gesturing with a hand, "Sorry this is idiotic silver Rays, we bumped into each other a few times and for some reason he is sitting with us"

"Stephanie West is a good enough reason, that girl is so annoying, after being so persistent to date me I finally agree and she cheats on me for the fifth time, like how can you find five boys better than me it's irrational," Xavier says in one go stealing my biscuit.

"What the heck Silver that's my food," I shove him before slumping in my chair, crossing my arms upset.

"Ouch, do you guys usually go through this kind of pain?" Silver asks glancing at both boys.

Ty takes out his headphone and Tony looks up from his drawing, they look, at me for a second and nod simultaneously, Becky and JK still in their own world. 

"Say please and I'll give it back," Xavier orders. Yeah right dude.

"Not gonna happen"

"You asked for it," he says taking another bite.

"I hope you choke and die of food poisoning." Real mature Daniella.

"So what's up with the nicknames you guys know that's not your given names right?" Tony states knitting his brows.

"We know,"  Silver and I say in unison. I cross my arms and glare at him but he only chuckles.

"So why are you here and where's the other two," I ask JK purposely ignoring Silver when Becky went to the bathroom leaving me with four boys.

"Mark is giving Trey French tuitions in the library and this doofus dragged me here because he's sick of the cheerleaders and won't sit on the other table," he explains jabbing a thumb in Silver's direction.

"Pretty much, I'm sick of girls and their drama," Xavier says with a careless shrug.

I clear my throat, "Excuse me?"

"Oh, sorry Rose but I told you, don't take offence, you're different," he tries, smiling sheepishly.

"It's still an insult being different," I retort raising an eyebrow.

"No it's not, it simply means you're unique - in a good kind of way for sure Rose," he says.

"Um . . . Okay then," I answer unsure of what to say.

"Woah, who knew Xray could be so sappy ?" JK laughs earning a glare from his best friend.

The two of them then started arm wrestling, I laughed watching them two. It's nice seeing this side of Xavier but I can't forgive him for what he did on the football team. Looking away, I see Becky coming back,  she sits next to Jackson and he immediately jerks up to smile at her. Ty is in his own world listening to some music and Tony is almost done with his drawing. Since the blond artist is on my right, I lean on him to watch him complete his drawing and he mutters before some thing about dead weight before I glance at Xavier, something passes in his eyes but disappears within seconds.

"You know Tony, I don't understand why Xavier is here, apparently girls are too dramatic," I sit up saying the last part loud enough for Silver to hear.

"Well I'm glad you noticed," he remarks pretending to not notice. Tony gives him a look that means say it bro and she'll kill you.

Of course idiot won't take the advice and gets a slap on the back of his head.

"Ow! For a girl, you sure it hard," he complains rubbing the spot with a wince.

"Well I'm glad you noticed I'm a girl," Is my respond mocking him, "So when you plan on leaving?"

"Why you going to miss me princess," he asks earning an are you serious look.

"No the sooner you leave the better," I say poking him.

Flip wrong hand. Did I mention that my left hand has been worse injured than my right because I mistakenly punched the wall with it the day Xavier fought me? Since then, I've been hiding the bandages even after the ones fro my right hand came out. Great now the memories of what Xavier said to my alter ego is coming back.

"Rose, what happened to your hand?" Silver asks grabbing my left wrist his eyes frantic.

He does look genuinely concerned, but I don't buy it. I swallow a lump in my throat, annoyed at him. He is a bully, how could ever forget that? We're enemies. Nothing more, nothing less. I twist my arm free and march out of the cafeteria and went straight to the library, upset and having a lot of mixed feelings. Yeah, I might be behaving over dramatically but what can I say? He is the reason I got hurt on my knuckles and almost fractured my hand. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and not face the consequences. Flip his nickname Xavier doesn't deserve one.

"Daniella there you are!" Becky runs up to me, pulling me out of the library and into a bear hug.

"Can't. Breathe"

"Oh, sorry, are you okay ? You just stormed out of the cafeteria," She asks worriedly.

"Yeah,  I just need to clear my mind, books are my way out," I reply with a half shrug.

"Nerd," She jokes nudging me, "But seriously what's wrong"

"Thanks for checking on me but I'm fine don't worry, so you can go back to Jackson," I assure her.

"Look here Danny when someone says they're fine it usually means they are not so tell me what's going on," the girl says crossing her arms.

I sigh, why is she so stubbor ? "Dude, I said I'm fine so stop worrying"

"I refuse to leave until you tell me what's going on," she insists, "Why won't you tell me"

Maybe because I don't like trusting people.

"I don't like pity . . . Or sappy talk," is my reply half to myself.

And she starts laughing! Like what the hell. 

"Seriously Danny that's your excuse, well whatever it is I won't pity you so spill"

I groan, "Xavier happened, I can't forgive him for bullying me so easily"

"I understand, Danny he's right though, you are different most girls would of fallen for him but you don't care, I'm proud of you girl," She says giving me a friendly shouldering.

"Thanks,  I'm just really upset that he was a jerk to me and fought me"

"Yeah, I get it though, why would he sit by us of all people, he's so popular," Becky taps her chin and gives me a weird look, raising her eyebrow and studying my confused expression.

"Why are you looking at me like that? He's just trying to get away from the demon squad remember?" I reply but she still looks unconvinced, "Or maybe because he kind of knows me from the café"

I regret what I said already.

"WHAT!" She yells completely glowering at the new piece of information.

I think I broke my eardrum.

Sincd I finished my literature essay fifteen minutes early and Becky was too lazy to finish hers, I told her the how I met Xavier at the café Ty took us to. The girl kept interrupting me every with an occasional gasp, squeal or OMG! I groaned and hit my head on the desk letx just say that only makes my head ache worse but I still do it anyway. Maybe the drumming in my ears will stop me from hearing that girl's voice.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" She holds my shoulders and shakes me.

"Please. Stop. Before. I. Strangle. You," I reply with a pointed look.

"Try me," She counters raising a slender brow.

"Ugh!" I grimace annoyed.

She flips her curly brown her in triumphant,  "Well, it's still a more suitable theory than the cheerleaders idea"

"Yeah, some of those girls are a shame to our species," I say with a shudder.

"Forget that, we don't even have the same genus," Becky agrees.

"Or family, order, class or phylum maybe just the same kingdom"

"Nah, they are more like aliens, that much beach is unnatural," We both start laughing earning a glare from the teacher.

"We should call the Men in black,"  I whisper.

"Actually even they ran away," Becky adds with a chuckle talking about the four badboys.

My face grows serious as I think of what Stephanie will do to me people have seen me talking to him and I can't deal with the  queen bee's wrath, she would never let another girl get close to Xavier not that I'm complaining.

"Xavier will leave me alone after today right?" I ask Bec a bit anxious. 

"I don't know, it seems he really likes you," She replies not getting the hint.

Gee thanks for the reassurance.

Great, Xavier is going to be the birth of my death. Hopefully Becky is joking about Silver liking me, heck he doesn't even know me. Besides what's there to like. Stephanie is gorgeous with her strawberry blonde hair and big brown eyes, perfect make up, designer clothes and shaped figure, I on the other hand am a nerd and tomboy-ish. What's special about short brown hair and green eyes that's hardly ever seen behind the glasses? Yes I love myself for the boring, normal girl I am bur there no way anyone can fall for me, especially in two days.

Xavier on the other hand . . .

Is rude, cocky and arrogant but at the same time good looking, has gorgeous amber eyes, the white hair suiting him perfectly along with a muscular build and perfect jawline as a bonus. I hate him for being so egotistical yet he's being nice to me, so maybe he's a user as well, trying to get back at Stephanie. Typical badboy.

Why is everything around me so clićhe all of a sudden?

I guess you can finally say I'm in high school.

Yes you read it right. That's my crisis. Well one of the minor ones anyway. Any ship names 🙋 for Bec? With Jac and with either twins.
