Chapter 11 : Kickoff

"Woah nice bike!" Becky gapes when I open the garage revealing the motorcycle,  "Who's is it?"

"Well, my brother Peter caught a ride back to university with his bff and said I could use his Harley Davidson," I explain pulling it out, "Don't worry he's an expert and he taught me"

"Wait, you ride this? Isn't this a bit dangerous," Bec asks me not convinced nd seriously worried, her perfect eyebrows scrunched.

"Nah, it's perfectly safe, I have a sort of permit"

"Uh . . Okay then, have I ever told you that you don't behave like an average girl," she states as I pass her a helmet and put on my own.

"I don't recall no, but I am quite the average girl Bec society just doesn't want to accept that," I shrug getting on the bike, she reluctantly gets on herself.

I check the gear controls, making sure I remember the correct acceleration etc. With one last check, I start the engine revving the bike before driving off. I go slowly picking up a bit of speed because I'm kind of scared of driving Peters bike and getting into trouble with my parents. I ask Becky to tell me directions and we arrive by a house.

If that's what you call a four story building.

"See, it wasn't so bad," I say with a cheeky grin.

"Well we arrived in one piece," she replies rushing off the bike and smoothing her dress. Her face masked with what looks like horror.

Sourpuss

Jackson's house is HUGE colossal size typical badboy-popular bff-of-biggest-jerk-ever-richkid and Bec tells me we made a mistake. We both gape and the mansion, our jaws dropping in amazement. It's to dark to really see anything but with the loud noise echoing music and colourful streamed lights hanging around I'm shocked it's the wrong address.

"What do you mean?" I ask not following and jumping off.

"This is Xavier's mansion, he must be the one hosting the parties for JK," Becky explains calming down.

"Wait, why?"

The brunette shrugs, "Jackson has really strict parents, but Xavier doesn't care about what his parents say, so that's why he hosts the parties, also he's the wealthiest from all four of them or maybe even the whole school "

"Woah, what does his parents do?" I ask. Maybe thats why he works I the cafe. They probably own the whole joint.

"His father is the owner of Rays motor, they own some kind of motor franchise but no one knows what his mother does," She answer.

Okay I'm bad at assumptions, but that explains the different car every week. Not the reason he works in a cafe though. The party is not what I expected either. It's completely PG which I like. We ring the doorbell, and guess what? A Butler greets us. Cliche right  He let's us inside, the party is in full swing, I hear music blasting loudly and see most of the guys on the lounge or kitchen. It's only the football team and their plus - ones.

"Hey Swif !" JK greets me pulling into a bro hug, "Who's this?"

"This is Rebecca," I smile. Nudging my best friend to talk to him. JK gives her a genuine smile, I need to leave before I start fangirling.

"Uh . . . Hi call me Becky," she says shyly trying not to make eye contact.

Jackson's shakes her hand kissing the back of it topping it with a wink, "Nice to meet you milady"

"Oh my gosh!" she squeals when Jackson goes, "He spoke to me . . . He knows my name and he kissed my hand! I'll never wash it again"

"Ew I'm going," I reply scrunching my nose as we walk around.

I greet the other guys, Bec is shocked at how I'm so calm around so many cute guys. But honestly I'm surprised I haven't noticed how good looking most of them are. Someone gets out the drinks apparently Xavier banned alcohol which I'm shocked and relieved about. So most of then went in the pool. It's freezing outside, I'm pretty sure I'll get hypothermia plus I don't think I'll have secret identity after that.

Trey starts singing let it go  I laugh at his childish behaviour. This boy is too cute.

Yes he is, I'm a girl we tend to say stuff like that .

Archer comes with Sheila hand in hand and sits next to us. Yeah both of them, he literally sat her on his lap. Whist most of us were watching, I raided the kitchen, Diego with me, the others are rather dancing, playing air hockey, fuse ball, gone somewhere with their dates, dancing or came from the pool.

"Dude why is he here," I hear a voice say coming into the lounge.

Xavier walks into the lounge from outside dressed in white trunks and a black t -shirt which is soaking from pool water, showing his muscle clearly. I'm drop my gaze. He is the enemy, I repeat to myself. Everyone turns their attention to him, he gives me the same glare from the football match, I feel it piercing my soul scaring me. I hear someone gulp.

I try my best not to punch his face, Becky stands next to and grips my hand tell in me not to do anything stupid. I take a deep breath.

"Bro, I invited the whole football team, you know this chill," Jackson says I don't understand how he puts up with such an idiot.

"Yeah let's go have some fun," Xavier's girlfriend Stephanie says trailing her finger on his shirt, her breast in his face. Okay we get it you're a girl, next she, be showing her-

Never mind I'm just irritated.

The idiot tells his girlfriend something in the ear, as she skips away happily. Gross. He comes and sits on the pool table.

Dead quiet.

"So, how do guys know each other?" Sheila asks breaking the silence. Apparently she's Archer's longest lasting girlfriend. I think she's cool.

"From the first day, sh-he was new here and I offered to show he-him around," Bec replies quickly coming up with an excuse.

"Nice save," I mouth to her. She nods.

"Yeah, you sit with those two boys and that pink haired girl," Jackson says recalling our cafeteria places.

Wait he knows.

Is it to much to say stalker.

I mean for Becky.

"Then, who's that other girl," Xavier interrupts. Who invited him?

Nevermind.

"Oh, my bff Daniella yeah she's one of the gang," Bec responds referring to my normal ego.

"That reminds me, now for the golden question, Swift where are you during lunch?" The other boys nod also wanting to know the much awaited answer.

I freeze. The question that has been going around . The question everyone has been asking. Rumours been told, stuff I don't want to talk about.
There only so much time you can hide for before getting caught. I analyse the situation in my head thinking of believable outcomes.

"I . . . Um . . . Well you see I actually . . . Go the library ?" That came out more of a question. I need to start assessing my life choices. Quickly.

Most of them burst into laughter, who am I kidding they all do.

"Really, you hangout at the library?" Xavier scoffs.

"Yeah so? Some of us want to succeed in life," I snap, telling Bec it's time to go.

"Wait no I'm not going back on that bike," she says in horror. Her eyes flashing back memories.

"Well we're leaving, she can get a ride with Sheila and I," Archer says with a shrug.

"Um . . . Okay," Bec says - she's in for yo much PDA.

Wait she's that determined not to get on the bike. I enjoyed the ride, it was thrilling. I didn't even exceed 100km/h.

Okay no I only went above that.

"I'm leaving to," Brady says taking his girlfriend's hand.

"Adiòs!" Diego greets as we walk out of the house.

The guy's look at my bike in awe, Becky goes with Archer and Sheila, the others start leaving when their rides come. I check my wristwatch hoping my parents don't find out about the bike before climbing on. I click on the helmet strap and give a salute before driving onto the streets. I speed enjoying the thrill and peace of the night. I stop by my house, put the motorcycle in the garage before checking to see if my parents were back. When I think I'm alone I open the door.

"Boo!" I hear a gruff voice say.

I scream for the help, why didn't I carry a pocket knife?

"Thieves. Murder. Police !" I yell like a psychopath looking around in absolute horror.

"Honey stop it's just us," I hear a lady's voice and the sound of the light switch.

Oh mum

And dad . . .

Oops?

I calm down and walk inside, "What was that about?"

"We should ask you the same question," Mum says crossing her arms.

"Yeah, how's the boy's football team?" Dad asks throwing my t -shirt at me. On the top it says "Holdenbridge boys FC"

How did I not notice that?

"Explain everything," my parents say as I gulp.
