After two days of refusing to leave the water and dad trying to get in with just an oxygen tank I pull more then my head out in the living room.

"You finally surface." Mom says.

"I'm hungry.  And the fish aren't much company."

"What would you like?"

"Watermelon sounds so good!  Hold on my gills." I duck back in the water and take a few breaths.  I look at my burned arms like I have for the past days and see scales have covered them, and not like the black tail ones, it's the coral ones.

I go to resurface, but hear hurried footsteps and shallow breathes.  I peek up into the raised section.  Ah there's Peter who hasn't been here for three days.

"Miss Pepper where is (y/n)?!?" Peter asks scared.

"I just saw her...." Pepper looks at me and winks.  "Maybe she went to the kitchen?"

"Thank you I'll go look there." He says before running to the kitchen.  I swim to the kitchen and see him look around.  I pop my head out of the opening.

"Hey Peter." I say putting my arms on the edge.

"(Y/n)!?! Why are you in the counter!?!"

"Look at the tank wall and I'll show you." I say before diving down.  I swim up and go around the tube and surface again.

"W-What... I-I I'm confused..."

"You aren't the only one with powers Buggy.  But I'll let you join me, I'll race you to my room."
