"Ok mom.  What's are we doing for lunch?" I smile, I'm not stuttering at all! All because I know that she knows who I am and won't judge me... much.

"Let's go to your favorite place.  That way I get to know you better." She says grabbing her purse from the table she put it on moment ago.

"It's the buffet the next block over." I say grabbing my keys and locking my apartment behind us.  I get into the car that pep- mom brought and we make it to my favorite restaurant.

We go in and the employees all say hi to me as I'm there at least once a week. We are seating at my usual spot (a table for six but its usually just me and a bunch of dirty dishes)

"Is this your regular spot?" Mom laughs as one of the employees hugs me before leaving.

"Yeah. I'm here about once a week, sometimes more.  It was the first table I was sat at and I've sat here ever since." I explain before standing up and getting my food.

After we get our food we have some small talk just getting to know each other better.  Occasionally an employee would come up and talk with us for a while before taking our dishes or refilling our drinks.

"So sometimes when I get really bored ill enchant people to run into walls." I say laughing.

"Enchant?" She questions.

"O-oh I thought y-you knew...  I-i have the power to control people to a-a degree, when I sing." I explain.

"That's why Tony was so interested in fostering you.  It was his idea you know." Mom laughs.

" I thought it was because I've been on the news with the mysterious attacks in the water.  The one that killed a couple and one that left a child almost dead." I whisper.

"Maybe.  Sometimes I don't know what is going through his head!  But that would take away the fun of being with him."
