Synopsis :
It was just an average day at school, except it wasn't. When Grace's school has a black out so does the city. The only difference after the lights come back an hour later is that the only people in the whole city left is the people inside the school, everyone else is gone. With the exception of the unknown voice that fills the speakers in the school instructed everyone about the current social experiment, but little do they know is this is way more than just a social experiment. Grace, Alex, Maria, and Jason find themeselves in not just a social experiment, and a love triangle, but also in a killing spree. And they're the prey.

Woo-hoo! A psychotic thriller! This is a familiar set-up - a team of people being slowly killed in a game as they try to unravel the web of mystery and who-dun-its. What makes a set-up like this work is that we as the readers are exactly the same clueless, bumbling bunch as the characters we are reading. We figure out things the same time they do, and hence get dragged very easily into the eerie and suspenseful atmosphere.

The group in this case is a small one, only four. Two boys and two girls. Matchmaking heaven! Kidding.

The protagonist is a refreshing change. Finally, a sensible girl that sees that a bad boy is just that -  a bad boy. Hence, better stay away from him. She really dislikes him but not in a childish I hate you way, but more in a grounded, parental way. Your behavior will only affect your future. Change your ways, my son. Some people might call her stiff and staid, but I call her smart.

The suspense is there and the creepy things are there. The atmosphere is getting slowly built up and the story progressing well. A few grammatical errors but not many. One of the better thriller books I've read.

Wrap it up now - stars or stones?

Psychiatrist : I'm sorry, she's still under watch. However, I can pass on a message......she says it rhymes with Mars Bars. Whatever that means.
